Nonito Donaire Sr. calls his son ‘ungrateful’: “For 24 years I feed him but when he became a world champion he left me”

Boxing trainer Nonito Donaire Sr. couldn’t hide his disappointment in his son, five-division boxing champion Nonito Donaire Jr.

In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal (Pep), Donaire Sr. was asked if there was still a chance for him to reconcile with his son.

The boxing trainer answered, saying he was not interested in building his relationship with the boxing champion again.

He reminded Donaire Jr. that he was nothing before he trained him to do boxing.

“I can’t believe that you raised a kid and now that he has more money than his parents, can afford to raised his voice toward his father who molded him of what he is right now. I was talking about Nonito Jr. The UNGRATEFUL SON. He was a jobless man until he became a world champion.” Donaire Sr. stated.

“For 24 years I feed him but when he became a world champion he left me and not even telling me that he hired another trainer.” he added.

According to Donaire Sr., he never got invited by his son, even to his victory parties, despite him being an instrument for the success of the boxing champion.

It can be recalled that the boxing champion said that he still loved his father, but he was already hopeless about changing his attitude.

In 2009, Donaire Jr. decided to remove his father as his trainer and reconciled in 2013, but in 2016 they decided to part ways again.

Rachel Donaire, the wife of the boxing champion revealed that money was one of the issues between them and Donaire Sr.

Rachel Donaire, bursts in tears after being called ‘Gold digger’ by Nonito Donaire Sr: “I’m always gonna be the bad guy”

Former female boxer Rachel Donaire couldn’t hide her emotion as she spoke about her feud with her father-in-law Nonito Donaire Sr.

In her statement, Rachel revealed that Donaire Sr. was always criticizing her because of the lack of support he received from his son Nonito Donaire Jr., a boxing champion in five weight classes.

According to Rachel, Donaire Sr. wanted to manipulate the situation for his own gain and to receive money from his son.

“No matter what I do, I’m always gonna be the bad guy… I can’t anymore, guys. It’s all about the money… He’s been bullying me from day one. He’s been saying that I’m a gold digger.” Rachel said.

“But literally, the reason he’s saying this sh*t is because he tried to trap me,” she added.

According to her, the issue started in 2008 when Donaire Sr. took a boxing allowance, also called ‘per diem’ from his son without their permission.

Rachel said that Donaire Sr. wanted his son to blame Rachel for the missing boxing allowance.

“He tried to trap me in 2008… because he was accused of stealing. In the 2008 story, Nonito asked me if I got the per diem money because I was acting as manager, but I didn’t. I didn’t sign for it. And Nonito Jr. questioned me because I was supposed to sign for the per diem money. And I was supposed to pass it out.

“But the truth is I didn’t sign for it coz I didn’t know better. And I had to protect myself. I had to involve the promoter. I had to ask who signed for the per diem coz Jr. was accusing me of taking the per diem money, and it wasn’t true. So I asked Top Rank who signed for that per diem money because it wasn’t me. I checked.” she stated.

After some investigation, Rachel discovered that the one who signed the boxing allowance was no other than Donaire Sr.

“It was Sr.’s signature. He took it so I got blamed. And I didn’t say anything… He took the money without telling us, and Nonito Jr. blamed me because I was supposed to do it. I was supposed to take the per diem money. And I looked like a fool to Top Rank because I’m asking who signed for the per diem money because it wasn’t me,” the emotional Rachel said.

She expressed dismay over the treatment she received from her father-in-law because of money.

“It was Sr. Because I was being accused of a gold digger, I was the one who got the money, who’s hiding the money. He continued to set me up. He set me up every single time.” she stated.

It can be seen that while Rachel was speaking, Donaire Jr. approached her, but his wife told him to go away.

“Go away. Just go! No! No! Please just go! I need to finish this. Please just go. Just let me finish this.” she said.

Before leaving, Donaire Jr. comforted Rachel for a while.

As of writing, Donaire Sr. has yet to respond to the accusations from Rachel.

The former manager of Hope Soberano, Ogie Diaz, responded to the statement made by the actress about her decision to change the direction of her career.

It can be recalled that Soberano claimed that during her career in the Philippines under the management of Diaz, she was restricted and not even asked about her opinions and ideas.

“I’ve been in six feature films, over 500 episodes of teleserye, and have only really dabbled into three main genres romance, comedy, and drama. Since I was 16, I had only really worked side by side with one main co-star, with the same production company, rotating around the same three directors. During all those years, I was never really asked for my input, my thoughts, my ideas,” the actress stated.

“I’ve sacrificed myself, I’ve sacrificed my freedom, I’ve sacrificed my happiness to present Liza Soberano to the world, and I think I’ve earned the right to finally be me,” she added.

In his online show ‘Showbiz Updates,’ Ogie said that he was supportive of the decision of Soberano in her career, but he clarified that everything they did to her was for her own good.

I am sorry,” he said.

She also thanked Soberano for following the people surrounding her during her career in the Philippines, saying that if she had become stubborn in the past, she might not be as famous as she is now.

Soberano has yet to give a response to Diaz.

Many netizens were amazed when Fowler showed the mansion’s interior, especially its curved staircase.

Fowler even became emotional, saying that her dream to live in a palace was already fulfilled.

However, in her latest video, Fowler shared that she decided to move out of the said mansion and planning to move to a smaller house.

A social media post also claimed that the property was being sold for 45-M pesos.

Some netizens questioned Fowler why she decided to leave the said house.

“Puro yabang Jessica Soho yung ininterview mu niya bangan ka lang,” a netizen said.

Fans of Fowler also advised the influencer to imitate Cong TV, who bought a compound, so she won’t be required to pay for rent.

Meanwhile, Fowler shared that she was already staying in a condominium unit like what she had done in the past.

An unnamed teacher writes an open letter to Vice Ganda, telling the comedian that his influence is already giving a bad effect on the younger generation.

The teacher said that Vice Ganda became a bad influence because the people are imitating his style of comedy.

Vice is known for making fun of other people to give laughter to his audience.

“Natatakot ako bilang isang guro at bilang isang Pilipino.”

Netizens Melvz Samson and Ejay Bulda defended Vice Ganda.

Yes po may inpluwensya Si Vice , as in malaki talaga . Star Cinema executive Mico del Rosario takes a swipe against Liza ‘Hope’ Soberano: Hiyang hiya naman ako”

Star Cinema executive Mico del Rosario captured the attention of the netizens by his supposed reaction to the revelation of Liza Soberano about her ‘restrictive’ showbiz career in the Philippines.

Liza, who’s now calling herself ‘Hope Soberano,’ said that during her career in the Philippines, no one asked her about her ideas which made her decide to go abroad and have freedom.

After Liza’s statement went viral, the well-known production company and film distributor executive made a sarcastic tweet.

“Hiyang hiya naman ako sa statements. parang walang walang naambag sayo at all ah. kayo talagang mga kayo. hahahaha #hilap,” Del Rosario said.

All of Liza’s local movies were made under Star Magic, and all her films estimatedly earned 1.3-B pesos.

Two of her top-grossing movies, ‘My Ex and Whys’ and ‘Alone Together’ earned around 300-400 million pesos.

Meanwhile, some netizens defended Liza from Del Rosario’s tweet.

“Kaya niyo po bang tignan si Liza derecho sa mata at sabihin sa kanya na naging FAIR kayo sa kanya and or at one point eh ipinaglaban niyo siya? Another genuine question po.” netizen @tootsie24roll said.

“Sorry mico, but your tweet alone validated how toxic Phil showbiz is. Why people like you who mentors the young ones, feels like may utang na loob sa inyo yung mga tinulungan nyo. Hindi ba kumita din naman kayo sa kanya as part of your job?” netizen @moonyeong10 commented.

“It’s the other way around. Parang walang naambag sa inyo no? Ano bang mali when an artist seeks freedom? Hindi niya nga nagamit creative niya cos she didn’t have the freedom to. Her other talents weren’t showcased cos y’all have been hindering her. Bakit kaya? May iiyak ba?” netizen @kaibengzon remarked.

Actor Romnick Sarmenta made a tweet following the statement of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos during the celebration of the 37th anniversary of EDSA on February 25.

It can be recalled that Marcos Jr. offered reconciliation to his critics for a better tomorrow.

“I once again offer my hand of reconciliation to those with different political persuasions to come together as one in forging a better society — one that will pursue progress and peace and a better life for all Filipinos,” said Marcos Jr.

After Marcos’ statement, Sarmenta said it’s easy to accept the reconciliation offer if they follow such conditions.

“A hand of reconciliation would be easy to receive; if there was full acknowledgement of the the truth of history, reparations were made, if they took accountability, if the victims were recognised and their rights addressed.
Anything less, is simply lip service.” Sarmenta said.

Several fans of Sarmenta praised the actor for his thoughts.

“Parang mas magandang pakinggan yung ‘Im reaching out ‘ kesa sa ‘I offer my hand’. Para kasing kasalanan pa natin.” netizen JV remarked.

“I wish many more of your caliber can this be vocal. Thank you for your discernment. Followers must be really proud of you.” netizen Jax commented.
