It’s Showtime possible to change timeslot to give way to the new show of Eat Bulaga Dabarkads in TV5

TV5 was rumored to be the new home of the newly resigned hosts of Eat Bulaga being led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.

On May 31, 2023, the legendary trio announced that they’re already parted ways with Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. which is owned by Romeo Jalosjos.

According to a report from Bilyonaryo.com, Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez who owns Brightlight Productions already talked with TVJ to handle them amid their possible transfer to TV5.

Meanwhile, the current noontime show of TV5, It’s Showtime led by Vice Ganda may give way to the Dabarkads once they completed the process of transferring networks.

It was reported that It’s Showtime may change their timeslot to the evening so they would not clash with Eat Bulaga.

The two shows compete for ratings in the past years and putting both of them in the noontime slot may not be a wise move for the TV5 management.

It can be recalled that It’s Showtime and Eat Bulaga hosts shared friendly banters in the past weeks, including the birthday greeting of Joey to Vice.

As of writing, TV5 has yet to confirm any talks with TVJ.

Fans are also waiting on the next move of TAPE Inc. who vowed to continue airing Eat Bulaga with their new hosts.

TV host Willie Revillame who just resigned from AllTV was also reportedly being considered to fill the shoes left by the legendary trio.

They’re also expecting a legal battle between TVJ and TAPE for the rights of ‘Eat Bulaga’ branding.

Motivational Speaker Rendon Labador released his most-awaited statement about the issue between Moira dela Torre and Jason Marvin.

In a video published on his social media page, Rendon said that he must be careful from speaking about it because of his sensitivity especially since many people have already been involved in the issue.

He then defended Moira, saying that the singer is still a woman that should be respected.

“Hindi niyo ba naisip na babae parin yan?” said Rendon. “May emosyon yan, tao yan, bakit niyo pinagkakampi-kampihan? Ako ang pagtulungan niyo, wag ‘yung babae pare.”

“Ang mga babae, minamahal yan, anong ginagawa niyo? Mga lalake pa man din kayo, dapat tayo ‘yung nagke-cater sa kanila.” he added.

Rendon then criticized the mindset of Jason for blaming Moira for his decision to avail a ‘happy ending’ spa service.

“Kung gagawa ka ng mali, choice mo yan. Kung sakali man na totoo ‘yung ibinibintang mo doon sa babae, ibig sabihin ay hindi ka marunong magmahal. Nagloko ka Jason, choice mo yan, never na naging kasalanan ng partner mo yan.” he stated.

He then asked the netizens to criticize him instead of Moira and Zack Tabudlo.

Zack admitted that he was affected after being linked to Moira.

“Wag niyo silang idamay, hindi lahat ng tao kasing lakas ko.” he said.

As of writing, the video already received thousands of reactions from netizens.

 

Iniwan ang TVJ! Alden Richards, possible to stay to Jalosjos’ Eat Bulaga together with new hosts

Netizens couldn’t hide their disappointment after Alden Richards’ absence during the announcement of TVJ’s departure to Television and Production Exponents Inc.

Some netizens questioned if Alden’s absence meant that he was not planning to leave Eat Bulaga together with the original hosts of the show.

However, he clarified that he was not aware of the decision made by his colleagues.

“Nagulat po ako ‘nay. Hindi ko po ine-expect yung mga pangyayari kahapon. Pero kahit ano pong mangyari, ang suporta ko po ay nasa Tito, Vic at Joey at Eat Bulaga…Maraming salamat po ‘nay, kagaya niyo po, mahalaga po sa akin ang loyalty at utang na loob. Hindi po magbabago yun,” Alden said

Fans believed that there was a possibility that Alden would stay as a host in Eat Bulaga after reports indicated that artists from GMA Sparkle were tasked to replace the talents who resigned from TAPE.

It was also confirmed that TAPE would continue airing Eat Bulaga despite the absence of the original hosts.

“Abangan niyo ang mga bagong magpapasaya at magpapatibok ng ating mga puso. Aasahan ninyo ang mas masaya, mas nakakaaliw at HIGIT PA SA ISANG LIBO’T ISANG TUWA na Eat Bulaga. patuloy ang Dabarkads na maglilingkot para sa inyo,” the statement from TAPE reads.

“Ang pag-alis ng mga hosts ay hindi dahilan para tumigil ang pag-ikot ng mundo,” 

Alden, as of writing has yet to respond to the question from the press if he would decide to stay in Jalosjos-owned Eat Bulaga.

Fans also warned the actor that it would negatively affect his image if he decided to stay with the show.

Former EB Babe member Lian Paz happily shared the academic achievements of her daughters with Paolo Contis, Xalene, and Xonia.

On May 31, 2023, Lian couldn’t hide her happiness after Xalene and Xonia gained the highest honors in their school.

Lian’s current partner John Cabahug also attended the recognition.

Former Senate President and Eat Bulaga host Tito Sotto couldn’t hide his dismay at Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. chairman Romeo Jalosjos.

In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal, Sotto revealed that they’re not really planning to resign on May 31, 2023, but the decision of Jalosjos to disallow them to air forced them to announce their departure.

“Biglang pina-cancel ang live! Nagpa-order ng playback daw si Romy. Si Romy, nagpa-issue ng playback,” Sotto said.

It can be recalled that fans of Eat Bulaga were surprised that the Friday episode aired on television was a replayed episode.

The host then asked one of their co-host Maine Mendoza to broadcast their announcement to her 18 million followers.

Sotto stated that they felt disrespected by the gesture made by Jalosjos despite their effort to make Eat Bulaga the most successful noontime show in the country.

“After all these years na sobra-sobra ang kinita sa main, hindi man lang kami mabigyan ng [respeto] diba?” he said.

“All of a sudden, bigla mo kaming pakikialaman, 44 years, may naiintindihan ka ba sa production? Makakarating ba kami dito kung hindi kami experts dito?” he added.

As of writing, Jalosjos has yet to give any comment on the statement made by Sotto.

In a previous response, TAPE Inc. took a swipe against Sotto and other Eat Bulaga hosts that the show would continue without them.

Former Eat Bulaga host and now content creator Gladys ‘Chuchay’ Guevarra gave her reaction after the decision of all Eat Bulaga hosts to leave TAPE Inc.

Gladys is now based in the US, together with her new partner Joel Mondina, popularly known as ‘Pambansang Kolokoy’.

In a Facebook post, Gladys who became one of the hosts of Eat Bulaga for 8 years expressed her sadness over the news, hoping that their departure would be peaceful.

She also expected that her former colleagues would find their new home soon.

“Sobrang lungkot naman ng ganito. Napabilang din ako Sa pamilya ng Eat Bulaga and sana lang may maganda o maayos na pagpapa alam ang mga hosts at co-hosts. Hats off sa tatlong institution . . . TITO, VIC and JOEY. At sa lahat ng co-hosts. Kahit saan kayo dalhin, panonoorin kayo ng tao. Maraming salamat sa inyo mga Dabarkads. Mabuhay kayo!!!” she said.

“Mula Aparri hanggang Jolo . . . Isang Libo’t isang tuwa . . . Buong bansa . . . Wag mainip, ilang kurap lang at bubulaga muli sila. On May 31, 2023, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon announced their resignation from TAPE Inc, amid the issue of unpaid talent fees and alleged decision of the production company to remove some original staff of Eat Bulaga.

 

 

Rendon Labador joins Moira dela Torre and Jason Marvin issue: “Baka pag-umpugin ko pa yan kapag hindi tumigil,”

Motivational Speaker Rendon Labador made his comment about the current issue between Moira dela Torre and Jason Marvin.

In his Facebook story, Labador claimed that he was not planning to speak about the said issue, but decided to do it because of the request made by his followers.

According to him, he doesn’t really care about the issue which was refuelled after Jason published a song dedicated to his former partner.

The discussion also escalated after composer Lolito Go, made a lengthy post against Moira.

“Para sa mga netizens na nangungulit sa issue nila Jayson-Moira na mag sabi ako ng opinion: Wala akong pakialam sa dalawa na yan, baka pag umpugin ko pa yan kapag hindi tumigil.” Rendon said.

“Focus nalang kayo sa mga kanya kanya ninyong buhay. Ganyan talaga kapag nagsama yung dalawang t****. Intindihin niyo nalang,” he added.

It can be recalled that Lolito accused Moira of cheating on Jason which the latter denied in an official statement.

“I did not cheat on Jason. It is unfair that I find myself in a position where I have to defend my name and even explain why I did not deserve to be cheated on,” she said.

A lawyer also hinted that Lolito should be held accountable for his posts.

Ping Lacson reacts to TVJ’s departure to TAPE Inc: “They lost you”

Former Sen. Ping Lacson expressed his support to his former colleague former Senate President Tito Sotto after the departure of the latter to Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc.

In his tweet, Sotto shared his message sent by Lacson to him, saying that the aftermath of Eat Bulaga issue was TAPE Inc’s loss.

Lacson’s message also hinted that the original Dabarkads were set to transfer network.

“Thank you Partner. Good luck to EB. Enjoy your new home. You didn’t lose them; they lost you. – Sen Ping Lacson,” said Sotto.

On May 31, 2023, Sotto, together with his brother Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon announced their resignation from TAPE which produces Eat Bulaga and was owned by controversial politician Romeo Jalosjos Sr.

“Pumasok po kaming lahat ngayong araw para magtrabaho pero hindi po kami pinayagan ng new management na umere ng live,” Sotto stated.

TAPE Inc. then responded to the resignation of the legendary trio and even took a swipe against them, saying that Eat Bulaga would continue without them.

“Abangan niyo ang mga bagong magpapasaya at magpapatibok ng ating mga puso. Aasahan ninyo ang mas masaya, mas nakakaaliw at HIGIT PA SA ISANG LIBO’T ISANG TUWA na Eat Bulaga. patuloy ang Dabarkads na maglilingkot para sa inyo,” the statement reads.

Naging palaban ang Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. sa naging kanilang pahayag matapos lisanin nina Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto at Joey de Leon ang kanilang kumpanya nitong Mayo 31.

Nitong Sabado ay naglabas ang TAPE ng kanilang pahayag kung saan ay nangako sila na kahit na umalis na ang mga dating host ng Eat Bulaga ay magpapatuloy parin ang ‘isang libo’t isang tuwa’.

Ayon kay CEO ROmeo Jalosjos Jr. ay ikinakalungkot nila ang nangyari sa Eat Bulaga ngunit kailangan parin nilang magpatuloy.

“We want to assure the public and the supporters of the show through its segments that we are committed to providing quality entertainment. It is unfortunate, but life must go on. As with life, we have to accept changes but we have a duty to every Filipino.” ani Jalosjos.

Hindi naman nagustuhan ng ilang netizens ang naging pahayag ni Jalosjos na tila hindi nirespeto ang naiambag ng TVJ sa kanilang programa ng ilang dekada.

“Eat Bulaga will never be the same again. The original hosts put in a lot of effort and gave it a unique identity. Even if the show changes its environment, situation, or vibe, the original team of so-called ‘DABARKADS’ is irreplaceable,” ani netizen Jame.

After Eat Bulaga’s legendary trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon left Television and Production Exponents Inc. most of the staff behind the longest-running noontime show also followed suit.

In a document published by Pauleen Luna, it can be seen that Eat Bulaga Dabarkads Paolo Ballesteros, Jose Manalo, Maine Mendoza, Ryzza Mae Dizon, Wally Bayola, Ryan Agoncillo, and Allan K already signed their resignation to TAPE Inc.

“Dahil po sa mga nangyari, kami po ay magpapaalam na rin sa TAPE Inc. simula ngayong araw, May 31, 2023.” according to the letter addressed to TAPE CEO Romeo Jalosjos Jr. and to EVP for Productions Soraya Jalosjos.

Aside from the said celebrities, the writers, sales, production and cameramen of Eat Bulaga also resigned.

It was also noticeable that the social media pages of Eat Bulaga were still under the custody of the ‘Team Dabarkads’.

There were rumours that all the former staff of the noontime show would transfer temporarily to TV5 while waiting for the contract expiration between TAPE and GMA until 2025.

As of writing, TAPE has yet to give a statement about the decision of most of the staff of Eat Bulaga to leave the show.

It’s also expected that a legal battle would start between TVJ and TAPE for the branding of Eat Bulaga.
