Even without a noontime show yet, a simple lunch of two former Eat Bulaga hosts already surpassed the views of the rebranded noontime show.

On June 27, Allan K and Carren Eistrup live-streamed their lunch while talking to their fans.

He shared that the Dabarkads, including Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, were recording the songs they would use for their upcoming noontime show on TV5.

“Excited na excited na kami, ang aga naming gumising sa call time na 9AM para sa recording,” Allan said.

Aside from Allan and Carren, Wally Bayola also appeared live to greet their fans.

The said video already reached 646,000 views as of writing.

 

Meanwhile, at the same time, the revamped noontime show of TAPE Inc. only got 47,000 views on Paolo Contis’ Facebook page with 1.8-M followers, while it reached 79,000 views on Isko Moreno’s page with 5.6-M followers.

Observers believed that the former Eat Bulaga Dabarkads would dominate the social media game even without using the original Facebook page of the noontime show.

Paolo already vowed that they would never give up in trying to reach their fans online, even if the pages they were creating were being removed because of mass reports.

Buboy Villar admitted that he knew the contestant who played in one of Eat Bulaga’s segments and got recognized by the netizens.

It can be recalled that the ‘revamped’ Eat Bulaga received criticisms on its first day after a netizen recognized that one of the audiences who was given a chance to play in one of the noontime show’s segments, “Ikaw Ang Pinaka” was working with Buboy.

“Contestant nyo kunyari napili or talagang kasama scripted na.. Papremyo nyo di naman tunay na makukuha ng mga pipila at magtyatyga sa labas. Pinagloloko nyo mga manonood ahiiiiii.” netizen LeoBrando Manlapaz said.

“Si Letlet ay tauhan ni Buboy sa kanyang paresan,” he added.

However, while Buboy admitted that he knew Letlet, he didn’t realize that the latter would become one of the live audiences of the show.

“Lahat naman po pwedeng manalo, pero hindi ko alam na manonood siya.” Buboy said.

According to him, the only scripted was their game, but not the picking of contestants.

“Well, talagang nasa script po ‘yung laro namin kasi siyempre mahirap naman po ata ‘to hindi naman po ito birthday lang na parang magsabi kami ng, ‘Bring me,’ ‘yun na po agad ‘yung laro namin,” he explained.

“So aral po ‘yung mga laro namin dito pero pagdating na po sa mga contestant ay hindi na po namin alam ‘yun,” he added.

Buboy also humbled himself and just accepted the criticisms being thrown against him by the netizens.

Eat Bulaga co-host Paolo Contis also defended Buboy, calling the incident an ‘honest mistake’.

“The only mistake I guess was that Buboy did not mention it on air na kilala niya ‘yung tao,” Paolo said.

Actor and model Luis Hontiveros went viral on social media this week after performing his version of ‘Jopay’ during the Miss Pagadian 2023 on June 19, 2023.

The said performance received thousands of criticisms from the netizens, calling the version of Luis ‘out-of-tune.’

Some even called the actor ‘unprofessional’ for allegedly not preparing for the event.

His response to the netizens also amplified the criticisms he was receiving because of being confrontational to the netizens.

“Si Mayor Sammy Co and his family mismo ang nag-cheer niyan. maka-react kayo, akala nyo kasali kyo sa live event namin hahaha. Inggit pikit.” Luis said.

“Di naman kayo pinilit na manood pero honestly guys, to all my bashers, thank you so much for this! You guys are the best!” he added.

Ogie, a talent manager, said in his online show that actors like Luis should prepare themselves for their gigs so more people would hire them in the future.

“Next time ha. ‘Yung mga performers na tumatanggap ng out of town shows. Alam niyo, raket ‘yan. Masakit na nga ngayon sa tenga ‘pag sinabi mong raket e. Pero dapat pinaghahandaan din ‘yun para makaulit.” said Ogie.

“Kasi may mga bisita ng mayor ng ibang bayan, malay niyo ay, gusto ko to. Kukunin ko ‘to next time. ‘Di yung ganyan na takbo ka ng takbo tapos papakanta mo pala sa audience ‘yun.” he added.

As of writing, Luis has yet to give any response to Ogie’s advice.

Former Actress Deborah Sun revealed the people who helped her amid her challenges in the past seven years.

Deborah, the sister of Philip Salvador, lost her fame because of her vices and was even put under the custody of the authorities because of it.

In an interview with Snooky Serna, the 64-year-old actress admitted that she only depended on the help she was receiving from her former colleagues in showbusiness.

She didn’t hesitate to name some of them, including Ara Mina, who had given her shelter for the past seven years.

According to her, she was living rent-free at Ara’s condominium unit in Cubao, and she’s still staying there while waiting for projects.

“Talagang siya mismo nag-offer sa akin niyan… Kung tututusin, hindi ko naging barkada, hindi ko kaedad si Ara Mina.” said Deborah. “Pero nung malaman niya ang sitwasyon ng buhay ko, na kami mag-iina, ano siya, tinulungan niya kami. Up to now, nakatira ako sa isang unit niya diyan sa Cubao for seven years.”

“Ara Mina, thank you so much. For seven years, wala akong binabayaran talaga sa upa… big help. Sobra, lalo wala akong trabaho.” she added.

Aside from Ara, Aiko Melendez was also sending groceries and medicines to her.

Despite the unfortunate events that happened in her life, Deborah was still thankful because some people were still helping her.

“Inaano ko lagi na, sabi ko, ‘Lord, naku kung di sa Iyo, wala na, kawawa na buhay namin mag-iina. Kumbaga, Ikaw lagi nandiyan. Ikaw ang bumubulong sa mga puso ng mga tao ang tumutulong sa amin, sa aming mag-iina.’” she stated.

Snooky then asked the showbiz industry to give another chance for Deborah to prove herself.

Rebranded Eat Bulaga at It’s Showtime, posible na magsanib pwersa para tapatan ang TVJ

Reports about the possible collaboration between former rivals, Eat Bulaga and It’s Showtime have been circulated on social media amid the upcoming grand contract signing between GMA Network and the ABS-CBN noontime show.

According to some sources, a possible joint force between the two noontime shows was not far from reality as the same network is handling them.

Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.) Chief Financial Officer Seth Frederick Pal Jalosjos made a hint about the possible partnership between their noontime show and It’s Showtime to possibly match the upcoming program of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon on TV5.

It can be recalled that TAPE Inc. and TVJ parted ways on May 31, 2023, because of unresolved issues, including unpaid talent fees and business decisions made by the Jalosjos family-owned company.

Several Eat Bulaga hosts have already expressed excitement about the possibility of sharing the stage with It’s Showtime talents.

“Exciting ‘yun. Ang panalo is ‘yung mga (televiers). Sinimulan na ng GMA and ABS-CBN ang collaborations, and this is a very big collaboration kasi noontime show ito,” he said. “It opens a lot of opportunities for actors para makapag-guest sa (“It’s Showtime”) at makapag-guest din sa (“Eat Bulaga”). It is a competition but it will be a very healthy competition because you’re basically under one roof.” Eat Bulaga host Paolo Contis said.

However, there were also rumors that It’s Showtime’s arrival to GMA might become a reason for early termination of the contract between the Kapuso Network and It’s Showtime.

Some observers believed that if ever Eat Bulaga failed to reach the expectations of the network, GMA might end its partnership with TAPE or transfer the noontime show to GTV and be replaced by It’s Showtime.

Netizens couldn’t stop talking about the changes to Pauleen Luna’s body, sparking rumours that the television host and partner of Vic Sotto was pregnant.

In her latest Instagram post, some netizens asked Pauleen if she’s already carrying her second child to the 69-year-old veteran host.

Despite the questions from the netizens, Pauleen didn’t confirm nor deny the rumours.

Some netizens speculated that Pauleen and Vic might announce the special news on July 1, 2023, during the grand opening of the new noontime show of former Eat Bulaga hosts on TV5.

According to some showbiz reporters, Pauleen’s condition might be the reason why the actress was not actively attending the events related to the upcoming new show of the Dabarkads.

It’s not yet known if Pauleen will also be part of the show.

In 2022, Vic said that his daughter to Pauleen, Tali Sotto, already wanted a younger sibling.

“Tuwing magdadasal sa gabi, parating, ‘Papa Jesus, thank You for my dad, thank You for my mom. Can You please give me a baby sister or baby brother?’” Vic revealed.

However, the host joked that they’re always sleeping with Tali, so they don’t have any chance of having another baby.

Basketball player Ricci Rivero denied that he’s having a relationship with a gay man amid the issue of his separation from Andrea Brillantes.

In an interview, Ricci said there’s no truth about the rumours, saying that he’s a straight man and not interested in having a relationship with the same gender.

“Puntahan natin itong mga usap-usapan pero this is not the first time na mayroon kang gay boyfriend, matagal na ito, what will you say to this?” Boy Abunda asked Ricci.

Ricci said that he’s only close to the members of the LGBTQ+ community, but he would not plan to have a romantic relationship with them.

“Tito Boy sobrang laki po kasi ng respeto ko sa LGBTQ+ community, sobrang napapaligiran po ako ng part ng community na ‘yan kasi simula po noon nu’ng napasok din po ako sa showbiz industry.” said Ricci.

“Even sa basketball naman marami po talaga akong nilu-look up in a way na ‘yung personality nila, the way the carry themselves na alam ko po mataas ‘yung respeto namin sa isa’t isa sa kanilang lahat na hindi naman po aabot sa romantic relationship,” he added.

He also denied having a relationship with Councilor Leren Bautista.

The Supreme Court has finally disbarred Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon after several months of being suspended.

In a statement released by SC, Gadon has been removed from being a lawyer after he made several negative comments against journalist Raissa Robles whom he compared to a ‘dog’.

“The Court pointed out that Gadon, unfortunately, failed to realize that lawyers are expected to avoid scandalous behavior, whether in their public of private life,” the Supreme Court stated.

The decision only came after President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. appointed Gadon to his current position, that was also received opposition from several groups.

They mentioned the other acts made by Gadon that resulted in his suspension for several months, including the six administrative cases filed against him before the Office of the Bar Confidant and 4 before the Commission on Bar Discipline of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.

Supreme Court also cited the accusations made by Gadon against Senior Associate Justice Marfic Leonen and Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguiao.

As of writing, Gadon, who’s considered one of the most controversial lawyers in the country, has yet to give any statement on the decision by the Supreme Court.

Basketball player James Yap shared his first conversation with his son Bimby Aquino Yap after several years of not talking to each other.

It can be recalled that Kris Aquino, former partner of James, shared that Bimby made the first move to connect with his father on Father’s Day.

“Yesterday Father’s Day, my bunso made me proud – he’s had the number to contact for almost a week, and the reluctance was so real, yet he took the 1st step towards rebuilding a relationship that i know will require some time to repair PERO ang mahalaga ay nagsimula na…” said Kris.

In an interview with Dolly Anne Carvajal of Inquirer, Yap couldn’t hide his happiness after finally talking to his son after eight years.

“I’ve been praying for this day to come. Na-miss ko sobra si Bimb! It’s the best Father’s Day gift ever. He said that he is looking forward to seeing his brother MJ again and meet his sister Francine soon. He wished me luck in my new career as a public servant.” James told Carvajal.

In 2021, Bimby revealed that he never talked to his father, saying that his mother was enough for him.

“Yeah ’cause… Sorry sa bluntness po ha, I don’t really care,” Bimby said when asked if he’s ready to forgive James.

Kris also denied that she’s the one who urged Bimby not to talk to James.

Bimby also revealed that James knew his number but never contacted him.

“I have a phone, and it just takes like 10 digits s keypad to call me, e, hindi niya ginawa in ilang years,” he stated.

 

Vice Ganda speaks about TVJ and Eat Bulaga issue: ‘Yung desisyon nila, malaki ang epekto sa amin na nananahimik”

Comedian Vice Ganda finally reacted to the issue between Eat Bulaga Dabarkads and Television and Production Exponents Inc., which shaped the competition on free television.

In his vlog, Vice, the primary host of Eat Bulaga’s long-time competitor ‘It’s Showtime,’ said that their show was affected by the issue that resulted in them leaving TV5.

It can be recalled that the former Eat Bulaga hosts led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon left TAPE Inc. and GMA Network on May 31, 2023, and decided their transfer to TV5.

TV5 then decided to give their noontime slot to the upcoming new TVJ show, resulting in Vice’s show leaving the network.

According to the comedian, they didn’t imagine that TVJ would leave GMA Network after decades of staying there.

“Tayo ‘yung casualty nung naging problema ng TVJ at saka nung Eat Bulaga. Sabi ko, ‘Parang tayo ‘yung tinamaan ng mga kanyon na ibinala nila.’ ‘Yun ang unang naging damdamin namin.” Vice said.

“Kasi nung una, ‘di ba, okay naman sila do’n, okay din naman kami, ‘di ba? Parang, ‘Okay na tayo dito.’ Kasi kung hindi naman sila nag-away, e ‘di buo pa rin sana sila. May kontrata pa naman sila sa GMA hanggang next year, ‘di ba? Pero dahil hindi sila nagkasundo, nagkahiwalay.” he added.

However, Vice said that he understood that TVJ and other Eat Bulaga hosts needed a new home, but at the same time, their competitors, including ‘It’s Showtime’, were affected by the decision made by the legendary trio.

He also believed that the situation was beyond their control, so they decided to just transfer to GMA Network.

‘”Yung mga naging desisyon nila, malaking-malaki ang naging epekto sa amin na nananahimik, ‘di ba? Pero hindi rin namin pwedeng sisihin ang TVJ dahil lahat naman kami, gusto lang magtrabaho. Lahat naman kami, may ipinaglalabang bahay. Lahat kami, may ipinaglalabang programa. Lahat kami, may ipinaglalabang audience na gustong pagsilbihan.” he stated.

“Wala tayong magagawa. Tatanggapin natin ‘yon. Hindi man masyadong pabor sa atin [na palitan ng TVJ sa 12:00 slot, but] again, hindi natin pwede ‘yung i-take against them kasi nagtatrabaho lang din naman sila.” he added.
