Jim Paredes reacts on PhilHealth issue: “How can you steal from people who are sick?”

Legendary OPM artist Jim Paredes slammed the corruption allegedly happening in Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).

In a series of tweets, Paredes gave his opinion over the revelation of the anti-fraud officer Thorsson Montes Keith that some officials of PhilHealth allegedly pocketed P15-B from the contribution of its members.

“And I am sure no one will go to jail,” Paredes said.

He also called the PhilHealth officials as ‘shameless’ for the alleged overpricing of the IT upgrades of the said corporation.

Paredes who recently became a topic on social media then said that no words could describe how ‘evil’ the people corrupting the money of PhilHealth.

“How can you steal from people who are sick and/ or dying? There are no words to describe how despicable and evil these Philhealth thieves are,” he stated.

Paredes is a known vocal critic of the Duterte administration.

PhilHealth denied the accusations of Thorsson against the company, saying that the latter only wanted to get a higher position.

“Atty Keith was hired as a job order contractor to do staff work under the Office of the President and is in no position to discuss office matters being in the Corporation for only 9 months. His malicious claims not substantiated by evidence were obviously made to malign officers that rejected his ambitions for higher offices which he is not qualified for,” the PhilHealth statement read.

Meanwhile, the Palace said that President Rodrigo Duterte would only fire PhilHealth President and CEO Ricardo Morales if there’s enough evidence of corruption against the retired general.

Vice Ganda slams Philhealth corrupt officials: “Pagdusahin. Pakainin ng ta* ang mga yan!”

Kapamilya’s top comedian Jose Marie Viceral popularly known as Vice Ganda couldn’t stop himself from commenting on the current issue being faced by some officials of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth).

Viceral, who’s a vocal supporter of his home network expressed frustration on the allegations that some officials of the said corporation pocketed P15-B for their own gains.

According to him, the corrupt officials of Philhealth should face consequences like feeding them droppings.

“Parusahan ang mga magnanakaw sa Philhealth. Ikulong! PAGDUSAHIN.

Former anti-fraud officer Thorsson Montes Keith revealed the alleged fraudalent activities of some high officials of Philhealth before a Senate investigation.

Meanwhile, officials of Philhealth denied the allegations of Thorsson.

“The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) categorically denies in strongest terms that its senior officials have “pocketed” some P15 billion as alleged by Thorsson Keith during the Senate hearing on August 4, 2020,” the corporation statement read.

“Atty Keith was hired as a job order contractor to do staff work under the Office of the President and is in no position to discuss office matters being in the Corporation for only 9 months. His malicious claims not substantiated by evidence were obviously made to malign officers that rejected his ambitions for higher offices which he is not qualified for,” they added.

Lilipat na? Kapamilya journalist Karen Davila sets to appear on TV5

Kapamilya journalist Karen Davila was set to appear on TV5, almost a month after the House of Representatives rejected the franchise application of ABS-CBN.

According to columnist Jun Lalin, Davila is going to appear at the pilot telecast of TV5 show ‘Usapang Real Life’ with Luchi Cruz-Valdez.

News reports said that ABS-CBN’s News & Current Affairs head Ging Reyes allowed Davila to appear on TV5 because the former personally knows Cruz-Valdez.

It was reported that Davila already had her taping at the TV5 journalist’s home.

Davila was also rumored to instead of Cruz-Valdez, Davila was going to take over and interview the host instead.

They’re set to talk about their personal experiences about the personal and professional lives.

Aside from Davila, other Kapamilya celebrities were also reportedly set to appear in TV5.

Despite the appearance of Davila, it’s not yet known if the Kapamilya journalist would choose to transfer to TV5 just in case that she would face the same fate as his colleague Ces Drilon who just recently became part of ABS-CBN layoff.

Davila is one of the most vocal defenders of ABS-CBN.

The Kapamilya journalist even criticized President Rodrigo Duterte’s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) after the latter openly criticized ABS-CBN and its owners in his speech.

“No senator or private company deserves to be mentioned at the opening of the President’s SONA. This is about the state of the country, where we are, where we are going, not about personal vendettas or feelings. People are hungry and jobless. People are looking for inspiration,” said Davila.

Writer explains why Duterte is the “best President the country has ever seen”

A writer explained to the critics of President Rodrigo Duterte why it’s impossible for the chief executive to think about corrupting the money of the country.

In a social media post, Krizette Laureta Chu said that President Duterte, who’s already 76 years old, had no reason to create an opportunity to corrupt public funds by increasing the debt of the country.

According to her, time may be more important than money for an old man like the President.

She also believed that Duterte is the “best President” of the Philippines because the chief executive was only focused on working and really showing his love to the people.

However, Chu also stated that Duterte also faced the “worst opposition”.

Here’s the post of Chu:

He doesn’t need to do anything more because he’s too old to run for a political position next election—he only wants to serve.

This is the thing the Opposition wants to downplay. At 76, the most precious thing for a person that age is TIME, ask your lolo. Money cannot buy you time. You say he’ll steal money from the debt we’re incurring, para saan? This guy is giving his twilight years to serve us. Konti nalang ilalagi nya sa mundong ibabaw(mga 200 years na lang), he is not in his position to steal, or to gain more power.

All he wants is to serve. And I see it by the way he works hard. Yes, the response to the pandemic is not perfect, but this government tries hard, without pretensions and with transparency.

The President listens when you appeal to him. Yesterday, the doctors wanted an ECQ. In the next day, he makes it happen.

Walang cordon cordon.

The President works hard, and has our best interests at heart.

The President loves the people. His IATF recommends 10,000 additional allowance and life insurance for those in the frontlines (this has to be discussed.)

This President is the best President the country has ever seen, too bad he came at a time where we have the WORST Opposition. Imagine if we have him, and we had what New Zealand has—mature opposition.

I can say this with a straight face: THERE HAS BEEN NO PRESIDENT IN THIS COUNTRY WHO LOVES HIS PEOPLE THE WAY HE DOES.

WALA AKONG PAKI KUNG AYAW NYONG MANIWALA. Lol

Arnell Ignacio cautions Jennylyn Mercado on making political comments: “Wawasakin ninyo mga caereers ninyo”

Former Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Deputy Administrator Arnell Ignacio warned Jennylyn Mercado after the prominent Kapuso actress started to speak about her political opinions on the internet.

In a Facebook post, Ignacio who shared an article about Mercado said that if celebrities who were not so familiar with the politics in the country should stop being vocal about the said topic.

Ignacio believed that Mercado’s tweet about politics may be destroying her career as an artist.

You have very successful careers dahil mahusay kayo sa linyang pag aartista,” said Ignacio.

“Do not ever think the power of popularity will instantly translate into mastery of the political jungle.
Wawasakin ninyo mga careers ninyo,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mercado who just recently received a lecture about debt from a radio host defended her decision to comment on politics.

President Duterte shares that his partner Honeylet Avanceña volunteered to be a nurse frontliner

President Rodrigo Duterte shared that his partner, Honeylet Avanceña wanted to volunteer as a frontliner to help the people infected by C0VID-19.

On August 2, Duterte said that Avanceña who’s a former nurse wanted to help the people in need of medical attention amid the pandemic.

“My wife has also volunteered to be a frontliner. May anak kami, ka-isa-isa. But since she is moved by a sense of — kasi nga nasabi niya nahihiya siya sa sarili niya. She is a nurse and yet ang trabaho — ito, itong ganitong parang it’s war against microbes, who are our soldiers? The nurses and the doctors,” said Duterte.

“If you cannot go for the extra mile, well, I can understand. I am very sorry. I can understand you. Pero wala kaming matawagan na iba eh,” he added.

Avanceña worked in the United States for four years before returning to Davao in 2004.

The President also shared that many nurses decided to join the Philippine National Police (PNP) because of the higher salary.

He then ordered his cabinet members to order the nurses of PNP to distribute the vaccine if it becomes available in the future.

Ginawa kong 30 kaya lahat ng mga nurses, babae at lalaki, pumasok diyan,” he said.

“Now, I’ll leave it to — I’ll leave the problem to General Año, for the uniformed nurses sa pulis, and for General Lorenzana, they should be assembled and help,” he added.

Liberal Party President and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan praised former President Corazon Aquino during his 11th death anniversary calling the latter as a ‘symbol of hope’.

In a statement, Pangilinan said that the Aquino gave hope to the people during the Marcos administration.

“Over 30 years ago we were facing a grave political and societal crisis, one we overcame only through uniting in People Power. President Cory was the light that shone in that darkness.

Pangilinan then narrated what happened during the martial law period, including the shutdown of ABS-CBN and the economic problems, saying that what’s happening before was almost the same with the current situation.

“The economy was badly depleted. Hundreds were klled. Corruption ran rampant. ABS-CBN was shut down. Press freedom was curtailed. It was a crisis of democracy. Those were the concerns President Cory had to face upon assuming Presidency, one she faced with courage and dignity. The only difference is that, at present, we’re facing a pandemic on top of it all,” Pangilinan said.

He then urged the Duterte administration to listen to the frontline medical workers in the country who called for a two-week enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila.

Jennylyn Mercado, one of the celebrity critics of the Duterte administration slammed the government after the national debt reached P9.06 Trillion pesos.

In a tweet, Mercado questioned if the government released a breakdown so the people could know what’s happening with the money being loaned by the country.

As a response, radio host Mark Lopez made a lengthy post to lecture Mercado about the debt of the country, saying that the data she’s been asking was already available.

According to him, the real economic, finance, and accounting experts are not questioning the government’s transparency so much because they know where to get data.

Lopez then told Mercado that her post may only lose her credibility.

You can read his whole post below:

JENNYLYN MARKADO

Bale utang yan ng bansa carried over from one administration to the next.

https://news.abs-cbn.com/…/this-kid-created-a-budget-tracke…

https://news.abs-cbn.com/…/phs-almost-9-trillion-peso-debt-…

Isa pang puede mo ring maging reference guide ay si Jan Suing, as he can also give you factual data, and he can probably explain it to you in a manner na kaya ng comprehension mo.

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157690084504247&id=552279246

The point lang Miss Mercado, is that information you are demanding is readily available, unlike what you are trying to portray or convey.

Mahirap yang ganyang stance Miss, kase baka akala mo eh yang ganyang asta eh you are earning credibility or preaching accountability and transparency.

The post of Lopez reached 21,000 shares as of writing.

Mercado has yet to comment on Lopez post against her.

Francine Prieto to President Duterte: “Sana magresign na siya ngayong 2020. Hanggang pang-mayor lang siya”

Former actress Francine Prieto released her inner anti-Duterte after she criticized the President on Twitter.

One day before President Rodrigo Duterte was scheduled to deliver his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA), the Prieto made a cryptic tweet on how the Filipinos were not taking action despite the bad things being done to them.

When someone told her that they should correct things in 2022, Prieto wished the President to resign, belittling the abilities of Duterte to govern on a national scale.

One day after she made the said tweets, Prieto expressed dissatisfaction with the topics Duterte discussed in his SONA.

In another tweet, Prieto said that military men were not needed in the current situation of the country.

According to her, the crisis should be handled by experts and not people from military.

“Yes we deserve better. Unahing palitan ng totoong experts. No offense to the military men pero hindi sila yung kailangan,” she said.

This is not the first time that Prieto asked President Duterte to resign.

In May, the former actress said that it’s better for the chief executive to resign or just let Vice President Leni Robredo handle the current problem of the country.

Jim Paredes calls President Duterte: ‘buang’ and ‘bob*’ for saying that gasoline can be used as a disinfectant

Legendary OPM artist Jim Paredes was not afraid to call President Rodrigo Duterte ‘st*pid for saying that gasoline could be use by people as disinfectant.

In a series of tweets, Paredes expressed his disappointment to the recent statements of President Duterte, who insisted that gasoline may became an alternative to alcohol as disinfectant.

A group of chemists already debunked President Duterte’s claim about gasoline.

That’s disinfectant,” said Duterte.

Paredes made a short response to Duterte’s statement.

“Buang na talaga,” Paredes said.

Buang is the Cebuano word for ‘crazy’.

Paredes also called the supporters of Duterte as ‘blind followers’.

In another tweet, Paredes challenged President Duterte to demonstrate on television how to use gasoline as a disinfectant.

“MR. president, please demonstrate on TV your gasoline disinfectant suggestion. If you are too busy can you ask any of your cabinet, or followers to do it?” Paredes said.

When a netizen asked him to run for President, Paredes refused, saying that he’s not smart to manage the country.

“Hindi ako matalino. B*b* lang siya at mga bilib sa kanya,” the artist said.

A few days ago, Paredes caught the attention of social media after his private video had been recirculated.

The fans of Paredes even raised their eyebrows after the said video was aired on television by DZRH news.
