Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.) executives and Eat Bulaga hosts were present during the GMA Gala Night 2023.

In a Facebook post shared by Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, TAPE’s CEO Romeo Jalosjos Jr., and the company’s CFO Seth Frederick “Bullet” Jalosjos attended the event showcasing their elegant tuxedos.

Eat Bulaga hosts Isko Moreno, Buboy Villar, Betong Sumaya, Mavy Legaspi, Winwyn Marquez, Alexa Miro, and Dasuri Choi attended the event.

Eat Bulaga hosts also met with It’s Showtime cast Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, and Anne Curtis during the event’s reception.

It’s not yet known if the two camps discussed a possible collaboration between their shows, as the same network now handles them.

It can be recalled that It’s Showtime decided to transfer to GMA’s GTV Channel after their reported refusal to change their timeslot to give way to TVJ Production’s E.A.T.

Millions of Kapuso and Kapamilya were excited about the future projects under the collaboration of GMA and ABS-CBN.

Millions of netizens talked about the GMA Gala Night 2023 as not only Kapuso celebrities attended the event but also some artists from ABS-CBN.

One of the most awaited Kapamilya artists who attended the event was comedian Vice Ganda who’s leading ABS-CBN’s top-rated noontime show It’s Showtime.

But some netizens were curious if Vice and Kapuso broadcaster Jessica Soho met during the event as they’re only staying at the same building.

It can be recalled that Vice and Soho had a feud in 2013 after the comedian mocked the journalist at his concert.

Until today, there was no disclosure between the two, and several reports that Jessica rejected the attempts made by Vice to talk to her personally.

There were rumors that Vice expressed interest in being interviewed by Jessica, but one of the staff of the journalist said that her boss quickly trashed the idea.

In several tweets, netizens asked for an update if the two crossed paths during the event.

“Hala parehong nasa gma gala sina Jessica Soho & Vice Ganda! May interaction kaya sila? hehehe,” netizen Miguel said.

“Nilolook forward ko yung beso beso ni Ms. Jessica Soho at Vice Ganda!” netizen Sheelexx commented.

As of writing, there were no reports that the two interacted during the event.

E.A.T host Joey de Leon took another swipe against Eat Bulaga amid the close competition between the two noontime shows.

In his Instagram post, De Leon called E.A.T as the ‘Longest Running Noontime Show’.

“Here’s Miss Tapsilog’s Bridal Shower Special Menu for today on TVJ’s TV 5 “E. A. T.”—-wala pa dyan yung MABUHAY ANG BAGONG INASAL! Featuring “Sino Ang Manok Nyo? (Sino Ang HEN Nyo?)”, “Wag Kang Ganun Huy!”, “Sugod Bahay Mga Kapatid!” and a lot more. Eto yung THE LONGEST RUNNING NOONTIME SHOW! Iba naman at hindi ito ang TOLONGGES Noontime Show!” he said.

Tolongges is a term popularized by current Eat Bulaga host Isko Moreno, meaning “to deceive.”

The post happened during intensifying competition between the two noontime shows.

Eat Bulaga on July 19 surpassed E.A.T for the first time in rating competition.

As of writing, Isko has yet to give comment on the swipe made by Joey.

However, some followers of Joey urged the veteran host again to stop sending messages against their competitors.

Kapuso actor Jak Roberto gained sympathy from the netizens after he solo attended the GMA Gala Night 2023 on July 22.

In a Facebook post, netizens quickly noticed that Jak was not with his girlfriend Barbie Forteza, during the special event.

Some even assumed that Barbie was set to date her love team, David Licauco.

“Bigla akong naawa kay Jak,” netizen Dona said.

“Manifesting lahat ng BarDa (Barbie David) fans ay matulad sa sitwasyon ni Jak. Hindi pwede si Jak lang ang magsuffer sa pagiging delulu (delusional) niyo,” netizen Reijie commented.

“Ako lang ba? Yung na disappoint na medyo nahurt na makitang di magkasama ang JakBie sa GMA Gala?” netizen April remarked.

Fortunately, the presumption of the netizens didn’t happen as Jak, Barbie, and David chose to attend the event solo.

Despite the decision of Barbie not to date anyone, some netizens were still saddened that the actress didn’t date her boyfriend at the event.

Some of them even questioned GMA Network on how they handle their love teams.

Actress Rita Avila reacted to the blunt statements made by Christoper Carpila, the fan who became infamous on social media after posting his encounter with singer Lea Salonga.

It can be recalled that Christopher recorded the said incident, where Lea could be heard lecturing the group of Filipino fans who allegedly entered the backstage without a guest pass.

In a statement, Christopher said that he had no regrets about posting the said video, saying that he only wanted to cope with his disappointment.

“Ang pag-post ko ng video ay way ko para mailabas ko ‘yung naramdaman ko noong gabing iyon. Hindi po ako nag-pi-feeling ‘entitled’, honest lamang po ako pero para akong ipis na inapakan o kuto na tiniris. Gulat na gulat po kaming lahat,” he said.

Rita then made a short response to Christopher’s statement, saying that people should distance themselves from the people like the businessman.

“If the brain is smaller than a pea like a lice.. BEWARE,” said Rita.

According to her, while she understood that some fans might feel upset when their idols are rejecting them for a photo-op, she also said that celebrities are also human and their privacy should also be respected.

Controversial restaurant Episode Bar + Kitchen announced that they were parting ways with motivational speaker Rendon Labador.

In a statement, the controversial restaurant, which was heavily promoted by Labador, revealed that another party had acquired their business.

Following the acquisition, one of the changes made by the management was to remove Labador and to promote ‘positivity’ among their customers.

“Following this change, Mr. Rendon Labador has severed all associations with Episode Bar + Kitchen,” the restaurant said.

“This transformation allows us to further enhance our dedication to our core values of positivity, excellent service, and delectable food. These values remain the backbone of Episode Bar + Kitchen, guiding our way forward independent of past affiliations,” they added.

Aside from severing ties with Labador, the restaurant also announced that their ‘rice’ is now P50.

It can be recalled that negative reviews had swarmed the restaurant because of its connection to Labador, who’s known for his antics.

Netizens praised the decision of Episode to part ways with Labador.

Paano kayo manliligaw ng customers if the previous image endorser keeps on projecting negative vibes and casting destructive criticisms on social media. Jose Manalo is considered one of the funniest Dabarkads out there, and the netizens were already noticing his long absence on TV5’s noontime show, E.A.T.

The comedian’s disappearance from the show sparked several rumors, but a veteran columnist already clarified that Jose would remain as a Dabarkads.

According to Cristy Fermin, Jose was currently in the United States to process his children’s documents.

Jose has five children: Myki, Benj, Nicco, Ai, and Colyn.

Cristy said that Jose wanted his children to live in the United States.

“Ang totoo po nagpunta ng Amerika si Jose Manalo. Mayroon po silang inaasikasong mga dokumento ng kanyang mga anak,” said Cristy.

The revelation made by Cristy explained why Jose met with former Eat Bulaga host Ruby Rodriguez who’s working at the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles.

It’s not yet known if Jose would also do the same.

Meanwhile, E.A.T fans were excited to see Jose again on E.A.T, especially in the Sugod Bahay segment of the show.

Lea Salonga went viral in the past few days after a video showing her lecturing a group of Filipino fans about protocols had been uploaded on social media.

It could be remembered that businessman Christopher Carpila entered Lea’s dressing room even if they were not included on the guest list.

Lea could be seen as baffled and started questioning Christopher’s group as she didn’t recognize the businessman.

After becoming viral, Lea then posted a message on her social media page reminding the netizens that they should not cross her boundaries.

Amid the issue, another statement from Lea about theatre etiquette had been recirculated on social media.

In 2019, Lea criticized the people who were using their phones during theatre and concert performances, calling them disrespectful.

“So yeah. More cellphone users at plays and concerts. You guys have zero manners, zero breeding, zero empathy. If all you’re gonna do while sitting in the front row of a play is hunch over your phone, do everyone a favour and leave. Your presence is disruptive and disrespectful to the actors and the audience.” she said.

“Money may get you theater tickets and your state of the art cellphone, but it can’t buy you class,” she added.

Aside from using cellphones, Lea also urged the theater-goers to avoid singing along with the cast.

“The theater isn’t a karaoke bar. Try not to sing along. The rest of the audience paid to hear THE CAST sing. Not you,” she stated.

Talent manager and showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz reacted to the issue being faced by Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo.

It can be recalled that a video showing Kathryn while holding a vape went viral on social media and received mixed reactions from the netizens and her fans.

Kathryn, who was considered a role model to her fans, who were mostly teenagers, surprised the netizens because of the possibility that the actress was a vape user.

However, Ogie said that netizens should not make it a big deal if ever Kathryn was really vaping.

“Normal ‘yun. Bakit ginagawang big deal,” said Ogie.

Ogie’s co-host Loi Villarama believed that the criticism received by Kathryn came from netizens who still couldn’t move on from the child star image of the actress.

The talent manager also questioned the uploader’s intention to capture Kathryn’s private time.

As of writing, Kathryn’s camp has yet to comment on the issue.
