Cristy Fermin gives a piece of advice to TAPE Inc’s attempt to imitate Eat Bulaga: “Hindi po tayo pwedeng parang linta”

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin talked about the attempt of Television and Production Exponents Inc. to create another Eat Bulaga social media page.

It can be recalled that Facebook and Youtube removed the social media pages created by TAPE Inc. after receiving many complaints from netizens who accused the production company of imitating the original pages used before by the Dabarkads before resigning on May 31, 2023.

According to Fermin, TAPE Inc. should stop trying to imitate the original Eat Bulaga page to gain engagement and should create own content.

Fermin’s co-host, Wendell Alvarez, praised the said social media platforms for removing the pages created by TAPE, saying that the companies were listening to the netizens’ complaints.

“Kaya sabi siguro ng Youtube, ‘bigyan naman natin ng respeto ‘yung orihinal’, hindi naman porke nang gaya ka lang ay pwede na,” Fermin said.

The original social media pages of Eat Bulaga, with millions of followers online, were still activated, and observers suspected that those were currently under the possession of TVJ.

It can be recalled that the last post of the original Eat Bulaga pages was a statement from the legendary trio.

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin reacted to the news about last week’s heated confrontation at Poblacion, Makati, involving the Kapamilya actor Awra Briguela.

In her showbiz program, Cristy couldn’t stop herself from comparing Vice Ganda and Awra, known for being close together.

According to Cristy, Vice was known for attending bar parties, but the comedian didn’t get involved in any trouble, unlike Awra.

She also praised Vice for not causing any trouble and knew how to control herself even if she was drinking.

Malayong-malayo dito kay Awra Briguela,” she added.

It can be recalled that Awra was put under the custody of the Makati Police, and several videos showed the uncooperative attitude of the Kapamilya actor.

Awra was successfully released last Saturday after posting a bail worth P6,000.

As of writing, Awra’s camp refused to give any comment about the issue.

Television host Willie Revillame reportedly refused the offer from Television and Production Exponents Inc. to become part of Eat Bulaga and compete again with Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon on noontime.

According to the revelation of veteran columnist Cristy Fermin, Revillame junked the proposal from the Jalosjos family because of his respect for the legendary trio.

“Ang gusto po nila, lumabas si Willie (Revillame) sa di-lehitimong Eat Bulaga! at tatapatan ang unang sultada ng Tito, Vic, and Joey at Dabarkads dito po sa TV5. Gusto nila noong Sabado. Isa lang ang sinabi ni Willie, ‘Matindi ang respeto ko sa Tito, Vic, and Joey. Hindi ko magagawa ‘yon.’ Ang ganda ‘di ba?” Fermin said.

However, Revillame said that he’s only open to talking with TAPE Inc. if they’re going to discuss ‘Wowowin,’ a hint that the television host was open to collaborating with the controversial production company.

“Kung ang dahilan kung bakit n’yo ko kaharap ngayon ay ang Wowowin, sige pag-usapan natin,” the veteran host stated.

It can be recalled that Revillame took a break from being a television host after his failed stint on AllTV.

Controversies also reportedly took a toll on Revillame’s health, and his doctors asked him to take a rest from working.

Last month, a public official revealed that Revillame planned to return his show ‘Wowowin’ on television.

“Iniimbitahan din niya tayong abangan ang pagbabalik ng kanyang programang ‘Wowowin’.” the public official told her followers.

Isko Moreno, tells the reason why E.A.T is leading the rating contest: “There’s so much hype, drama happened”

Eat Bulaga co-host Isko Moreno said they already expected their competitor ‘E.A.T’ to lead the rating contest last July 1.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Moreno said there’s a valid reason why the noontime show consisted of former Eat Bulaga hosts, including Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.

According to Moreno, the drama between TVJ and Television and Production Exponents Inc. contributed greatly to the popularity of ‘E.A.T.’

“Well, that’s understandable because there’s so much hype, drama happened in the past weeks and day,” Moreno said.

“Now, if there will be buffet like in this case, lalabas lahat ng galing ng mga artista kasi may kumpitensiya,” he added.

Moreno also believed that they’re not planning to compete with ‘E.A.T’ and ‘It’s Showtime,’ saying that having more noontime shows was considered a victory for the televiewers.

“We should be proud na panalo dito ngayon ‘yung viewers so magtulungan tayo. So, marami na ngayong options. Marami nang opportunity at gaganda na ‘yung noontime shows para sa viewers,” he stated.

It can be recalled that TV5’s newest noontime show dominated the rating contest last Saturday on both social media and television.

Nielsen, NUTAM Overnights Data, indicated that TVJ’s E.A.T gained an 8.4% average program rating and also reached 11.86% during its peak minute.

It also reached an 8.2-M audience during its almost 3 hours of airing on July 1.

Televiewers complaints about ‘boring’ and ’empty’ noontime show of TVJ: “Kayo kayo lang nagkukwentuhan”

While TV5’s E.A.T continues to lead the rating contest among other noontime shows in the country, several netizens made honest reviews about the program produced by former Eat Bulaga hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.

Netizens expressed their opinion about the recent episodes of E.A.T, and some described the noontime show as ‘boring’ and ’empty.’

Some observers believed that TVJ Productions should start making new segments as soon as possible as their competitors ‘Eat Bulaga’ and ‘It’s Showtime’ might surpass them when the hype about their issue subsides.

It was expected that the competition between the three noontime shows would be more intense in the upcoming days.

E.A.T patuloy parin ang paghahari sa noontime show ratings, Eat Bulaga pumangalawa

TV5’s E.A.T still considered the ‘king’ of noontime shows as the newest program produced by former Eat Bulaga hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon led the rating contest on July 1, 2023, Monday.

According to the data released by AGB Nielsen on July 4, 2023, ‘E.A.T’ got a 6.3% rating, while their other two competitors, Eat Bulaga and It’s Showtime, which both aired under GMA Network, achieved a rating of 3.3% and 3.0%.

But despite the higher rating, several netizens complained that E.A.T seems ‘boring’ because of the lack of segments.

Observers also noticed that despite the limited reach of TV5, E.A.T still achieved to get a higher rating, a sign that TVJ’s fanbase followed them.

They’re also surprised that Eat Bulaga still surpassed It’s Showtime which was a good sign that the noontime show produced by TAPE Inc. was still getting decent ratings.

However, they’re more curious if It’s Showtime would get a higher rating if they ever switched places with Eat Bulaga.

Vice Ganda reveals his dream to appear on Bubble Gang: “Dream ko iyan”

Vice Ganda’s statement in 2022 went viral on social media again, revealing his dream to become a guest in a GMA Network program.

According to Vice, he dreamed of appearing on Bubble Gang, saying that it was one of his bucket lists when he was still a talent of the GMA Network.

It can be recalled that Vice became a talent on GMA in the past, appearing on several shows of the Kapuso network, including SOP and Eat Bulaga.

He also became one of the Kapuso soap Saang Sulok ng Langit casts in 2005.

However, despite staying in GMA, he never receives an opportunity to appear on Bubble Gang despite being a comedian.

“Ewan ko. Di naman ako nakapag-guest doon. Kahit nga GMA, di nila naaalala na galing ako doon.” Vice said.

Now that he’s part of the Kapuso Network, netizens were excited if Vice’s dream to appear on Bubble Gang would happen anytime soon.

Michael V., the creative director and cast of Bubble Gang, also said that he was open to any collaboration with Vice.

“Si Vice Ganda. Si Vice Ganda has always been open to collaboration.” Michael said. “The last time we met, the last time na nagkausap kami, lagi n’yang sinasabi: [sana] makapag-guest ako sa ‘Bubble Gang’,”

GMA CEO Felipe Gozon confident that It’s Showtime will gain higher ratings

GMA Network CEO Felipe Gozon expressed confidence that ‘It’s Showtime’ will get higher ratings under their channel GTV.

During a media conference on June 30, 2023, Gozon said that the higher reach of GMA would help the Kapamilya noontime show get a higher audience around the Philippines.

“Sa aking pananaw, ang pinagsamang skills, expertise, experience and resources ng ABS at GMA can be characterized as very formidable. Dahil malawak ang analog at digital reach at malinaw ang signal at reception ng GTV, malamang na hindi lamang ma-maintain ng Showtime ang mataas na rating nito kung hindi baka tumaas pa,” Gozon said.

He’s also expecting more collaboration between them and ABS-CBN.

“Nag-uusap kame ni Mark at ni Carlo bago tayo umupo rito at sa tingin ko sa darating na panahon, mayroon pang magiging collaboration between GMA and ABS that will be mutually beneficial and rewarding for both of us,” the businessman stated.

However, despite the extravagant production prepared by GMA and ABS-CBN on July 1, 2023, for their noontime show, TV5’s ‘E.A.T’ still led the rating contest, gaining an 8.4% rating versus 4% achieved by ‘It’s Showtime.’

Observers believed that TV5 should not be confident, saying that the competition between the two noontime shows would only be determined in the long-term.

Marketing practitioner explains Eat Bulaga is struggling to get an audience: “Identity Crisis.”

A marketing practitioner explained why ‘E.A.T’ led the noontime show contest on July 1 against their competitors Eat Bulaga and It’s Showtime.

In a Facebook post, Joey Garcia said that despite changing its title, ‘E.A.T’ hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and other ‘Legit Dabarkads’ already established their own fanbase and identity that would help them to get a higher reach than other noontime shows.

He also explained that TVJ’s noontime show’s target audience was broader than their longest competitor, ‘It’s Showtime.’

“TVJ – Legit Dabarkads – Typical Pinoy Family; CLASS ABCDE; with heavy on CDE; typical bakya market with stronghold to BabyBoomer – to GenX market; — Family oriented — nostalgic; acceptance of modern family dynamics but no overboarding. Interms of production, tama lang walang too much effort and hosting is just wholesome with a bit of being pilyo at oang aasar; typical family kulitan.” said Garcia.

“SHOWTIME – lahat ng sobra na hjndi gagawin ng LEGIT TVJ they are ready to do it; but No nostalgia; same market segments but will definitely risk of doing “it” just to offer something different. Gets? Production is heavy a typical abscbn quality — imagery is very good; kulitan is the typical friends; a modern one.” he added.

Garcia also believed that the rebranded version of Eat Bulaga was struggling in the popularity contest because of having an ‘identity crisis.’

“EAT BULAGA (new) – positioning wise, delikado na; will naturally die down; identify crisis; they don’t own the name in the true sense; lalo na ngayon na may Legit Dabarkads; marketable? Numbers won’t lie! — nakakalito hindi na nila alam ang nangyayari,” he stated.

As of writing Garcia’s post already reached thousands of shares online.
