Director Cathy Garcia-Sampana reacted to the speculations surrounding the relationship between Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo.

Direk Cathy, who’s the director of Kathryn and Alden’s top-grossing film, “Hello, Love Goodbye,” said in an interview with Pep.ph, that it would be better for netizens to stop surmising the relationship between the two celebrities.

“Hindi po ibig sabihin na dahil nagkasama lang ay nagkaligawan na po. Puwede namang pure friendship and puwede rin naman simula of something,” she said.

If only she could be followed, Direk Cathy said that it would be more beneficial for Kathryn to take a rest from being romantically involved with someone.

“Gusto ko munang magpahinga ang puso ni Kathryn. Para mas open kapag tumanggap ng bago kahit sinuman yun,” she stated.

It can be recalled that Kathryn and Alden went viral after they were spotted being sweet together on different occasions.

The sweetness between the two sparked a discussion between KathNiel fans and AlDub fans.

While KathNiel fans were happy to see Kathryn enjoying her freedom, some AlDub fans couldn’t hide their disappointment over the closeness of Alden to the Kapamilya actress.

Alden made a comment on his relationship with Kathryn.

“What you see is what you get. Hindi lang din talaga kailangan lagi ipamalita sa social media ‘yung mga ganiyan. You know, sometimes ‘yung mga personal things that’s happening, better be personal na lang,” Alden stated.

Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao and her partner, Mike Yamson celebrated their 10th anniversary.

In his Facebook post, Mike dedicated a short message to Dionesia, who’s the mother of the only eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao.

“Happy 10th year anniversary of being together thanks GOD-GOD gave me YOU,” said Mike.

Mike also posted a video, where the two could be heard exchanging sweet messages with each other.

“Happy 10th year anniversary of being together. Maraming Salamat. Thank you, Lord,” Mike told Dionisia.

It can be recalled that many doubted Mike’s intention for the 75-year-old Dionisia when they met, especially since they had a 27-year age gap.

In an interview in 2014, Mike, who worked as a seaman and dancing instructor of Dionisia admitted that he was not happy with the comments he received from the netizens.

“Gusto kong magbarko ulit para kumita ng sariling pera. Gusto kong patunayan sa pamilya niya na kaya kong kumita ng sarili kong pera at patunayan sa lahat na malinis ang aking itnensyon,” said Mike.

Mike also narrated that he was the one who gave his number to Dionesia when they first met.

“Niligaw-ligawan ko ‘yan, hindi lang sa text at saka sa tawag. Personal, pinupuntahan ko siya, para maparamdam ko talaga yung nararamdaman ko,” he said in an interview.

Currently, Mike has already retired from his job and is now busy vlogging his everyday activities with Dionisia.

Anjo Yllana revealed that there’s no chance for any Eat Bulaga host to return to the program if they got removed or decided to resign from the show.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Anjo shared his experience with the Dabarkads and the work environment in Eat Bulaga during Television and Production Exponents Incorporated’s (TAPE Inc.) management.

“Sa totoo lang sa Bulaga kasi, once wala ka na du’n, tinanggal ka or nag-resign ka, wala pa akong kilalang nakabalik kahit na gusto nilang bumalik,” he said.

“Ganu’n ang patakaran ng Eat Bulaga,” he added.

According to Anjo, the unwritten rule was the reason why he didn’t expect to return anytime soon to Eat Bulaga.

“Dati ko pang alam na nu’ng nag-resign ako, hindi na ako makakabalik sa Eat Bulaga kasi ‘yun ang patakaran do’n,” he stated.

“Although, pwede kang mag-guest at habang buhay ka nang Dabarkads,” he also said.

He stated that many former hosts of Eat Bulaga wanted to return from the show, but all of their attempts failed.

“Marami akong kilala na gustong dati n’ung nandoon pa ako, hindi talaga pwede eh, parang meron silang ganu’n na prinsipyo,” Anjo remarked.

Anjo is one of the longest hosts of Eat Bulaga and stayed as a Dabarkad for almost 22 years.

In 2020, Anjo announced his resignation from the show, and later on, launched their own noontime show on NET25, which only lasted for 11 months.

During the feud between Eat Bulaga hosts and TAPE, Anjo reminded the production company of his unpaid talent fees.

Carmina Villaroel’s statement on a podcast together with Candy Pangilinan, Janice de Belen, and Gelli de Belen went viral on social media amid the issue between Darren Espanto and Cassy Legaspi.

In the podcast “Wala Pa Kaming Title Podcast” which can be found on Janice’s Youtube channel, Carmina was asked if her children, Cassy and Mavy would invite someone into their house, and later on, realized that they didn’t pass on her approval meter.

Carmina responded that she would be assertive to the people surrounding her children whom she didn’t like.

“Ako kasi whether friends, kapitbahay, o kaeskwela, very open kami. ‘Pag may nakuwento sila o na-witness ako, sinasabi ko agad na hindi ko sila type,” said Carmina. “Sa case ko na gano’n ‘pag sinasabi ko agad, hindi na ‘yan makakaulit sa bahay,”

She even said that even if her child’s partner is not an exemption from her rule.

“Hindi ko nga siya matatangap! Ano ako mag-a-adjust du’n sa girlfriend?” she stated.

It can be recalled that Carmina was being accused by netizens of being controlling to her children when it comes to their love life.

Some even told the television host that she must stop interfering with her children as they’re old enough to decide for themselves.

Gerald Anderson reacted to the viral meeting between his current girlfriend, Julia Barretto, and his ex-partner, Bea Alonzo.

Bea and Julia met during the birthday party of former Star Magic Manager, and now GMA Network’s Sparkle consultant Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan.

In an interview with ABS-CBN on April 13, Gerald said that the meeting between Julia and Bea was the only evidence that time would heal everything, even conflicts.

“Time heals,” he said. “Ganoon talaga, you know, time heals and… basta moving forward lahat,” 

It can be recalled that Bea and Julia became one of the most discussed celebrities in 2019, due to their feud.

Bea took a swipe against Julia after her relationship with Gerald turned out to be a failure, while the latter addressed the Kapuso actress directly on her Instagram post.

“I would like to disassociate myself from the break up of Bea and Gerald. Their issues are entirely their own,” Julia wrote.

“Your heartbreak should have been a private matter, but you have selfishly turned it into something of national concern. At first, Julia denied that she was dating Gerald, but in 2021, the two decided to admit their relationship.

Filipino-Swiss bank manager Mike Wuethrich posted a birthday greeting to his rumored girlfriend, KC Concepcion.

In his post, Mike said he hoped KC to find what she deserved.

“Happy birthday @kristinaconcepcion [heart emoji]. I hope you find what you deserve [praying emoji],” he wrote.

However, the message published by Mike became prone to speculations and some netizens even asked if the two were not together anymore.

Netizens believed that KC soft-launched Mike on her Valentine’s Day post in 2023.

Ice Seguerra surprised the fans after he revived ‘Aiza’ once again during the Saturday episode of Eat Bulaga.

In Eat Bulaga’s segment, Peraphy, where most of the hosts were cross-dressing, the special guest, who turned to be Ice appeared while wearing a dress and even a wig to appear as a grown woman.

One of Eat Bulaga’s main hosts, Vic Sotto couldn’t hide his surprise and visibly speechless when he saw Ice wearing a dress.

“Kanina ko pa tinitignan, hindi ko nakilala,” said Vic.

It can be recalled that Ice was known to be a lesbian since 2007, that’s why no one expected that the singer would do such thing as an advance celebration for Vic’s upcoming birthday on April 28.

Most Eat Bulaga hosts didn’t waste the opportunity to have a photo with Ice, which was possibly his last time to appear wearing a dress on national television.

In his Instagram post, Ice said that he wore a dress to show his love to Vic.

“Siguro naman, napatunayan ko nang mahal na mahal kita, Tito Vic! Hahahaha!!!” he wrote.

Fans of Eat Bulaga were also surprised by Ice’s decision to cross-dress.

“Hahaha! I don’t even recognize Aiza, she is so pretty,” netizen Miriam said.

“Tawang-tawa ang lahat at naluha kami sa aliw na binigay mo Ice Ice Baby @iceseguerra at dahil sa effort at pagmamahal mo sa bday presentation kay bossing ay susuportahan ka nmin sa upcoming concert mo,” netizen Eirol commented.

“Katagal ko pong kinilala, tapos napahiyaw na talaga sa tuwa c aiza s. pala,” netizen May said.

Joey de Leon proudly shared the achievement made by their noontime show Eat Bulaga, not only in the Philippines but on the whole planet.

In his Instagram post, Joey shared a photo taken while watching a vlogger who featured the top 5 longest-running television shows in the world, which included Eat Bulaga.

The photo showed Eat Bulaga included on the list.

While most Eat Bulaga fans celebrated its international achievement, some netizens reminded the Dabarkads that the program was not even included in the top 10 of the longest-running shows in the world.

The top five running shows on the whole planet are Lord Mayor’s Show, Remembrance Sunday: The Cenotaph, The Championships Wimbledon, Meet the Press and CBS Evening News.

The mystery woman who went viral on social media after she thanked Zoren Legaspi for a ride had addressed the netizens who were speculating about her real relationship with the actor.

It can be recalled that netizen Yhen Yhentot posted a photo of her while posing with Zoren in Baguio City and even wrote a caption thanking the actor for fetching her to the City of Pines.

The photo received mixed reactions from the netizens especially when they saw how Zoren hugged  Yhen.

When the photo went viral on social media, Yhen was forced to explain to the netizens that she was only joking and their meeting happened during the lockdown period.

“Nagpaalam kame to take pictures po sa bigbike nya… ginawa pa nga nmen na photographer sya kasi di tlga nmen alam na sya si zoren… nang inalis helmet nya tsaka namen narecognized na si idol zoren po pala sya,” she wrote.

“Hindi siya suplado hehehe, di nga namin alam na si Zoren yan kasi na-amazed lang kame sa gwapo niyang motor siya pa ang ginawa namin photographer tas nung tinanggal niya helmet niya si Zoren pala,” she added.

She insisted that there was no special relationship between her and Zoren and she was only a fan.

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin claimed that ABS-CBN’s noontime show, It’s Showtime would only be aired on GMA Network until December this year.

In her program, “Showbiz Now Na!” Cristy said her source confirmed that It’s Showtime didn’t get a long-term contract with GMA.

“Kailan lang po, isang reliable source, hindi nanununog, hindi nangunguryente, talagang totoong-totoo ang sinasabi, ang nagkwento sa amin na hanggang December lamang daw po ang kontrata ng GMA at ng Kapamilya Network para sa It’s Showtime,” 

According to her, It’s Showtime must maintain a good rating to receive a renewal from GMA.

However, she admitted they were not present during the contract signing, so they’re still taking the information they got with a grain of salt.

“Ito po ay kinikwestyon namin. Pakwestyon po ang aming pagde-deliver sa inyo ng kwento dahil hindi namin nakita ‘yung pinirmahan. Pero yan po ang talagang kalat na kalat,” she stated.

It can be recalled that Cristy’s co-host, Wendell Alvarez, claimed that It’s Showtime was tasked to surpass Eat Bulaga’s rating.

Cristy then said that while It’s Showtime was pressured to surpass the longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga was not really focusing on the TV ratings competition.

She also said that Eat Bulaga has nothing to prove anymore.
