Himas rehas! Members of content creator group ‘Tukomi’ put behind bars after their viral prank

Members of the content creator group ‘Tukomi’ were put behind bars after their viral prank last April.

They’re facing alarm and scandal charges due to the prank they pulled.

During the said prank, the members of the group created a scene in Las Piñas City where they pretended to abduct someone.

An off-duty officer Police Staff Sergeant Ronnie Conmigo, who was present in that area during that time almost used his firearm to stop the group after he thought that there was really an abduction happening.

Because of the dangerous prank they did, Conmigo filed a complaint against the group to discourage other content creators to do the same thing.

Even the PNP warned other content creators not to do such pranks.

“Muntik ng magkaroon ng hindi magandang insidente out of this prank kaya gusto ko sanang manawagan sa pamamagitan nito ay mabigyan kami ng pagkakataon na masabi ang side dito.” Las Piñas police chief Col. Jaime Santos said.

“Wala naman pong problema sa pagba-vlog, pero sana pag-aralan natin ‘yung content, suriin natin. Hindi pwede ‘yung mga ganito na it concerns the security of the community and the vlogger itself. We will filing a case against the vloggers.

Joey de Leon expressed his gratefulness to the onling vlogers who were actively covering the issue between E.A.T and Eat Bulaga.

Before the end of the August 7 episode of the show, Joey mentioned several vloggers including Banat By, Batang Maynila Toits, and Mike Abe.

“Eto ang taos pusong pasasalamat naman sa mga sumusuporta sa amin, sa dinadaanan po namin, lalo na sa mga vloggers, kahit minsan hindi maganda ang naisusulat niyo,” Joey said.

“Sa mga hindi nabanggit alam niyo na ‘yon, katulad ng sinasabi ni Vic noon.. Kung ang titulo ng isang show at binanggit alam niyo ng kami ‘yon,” said Joey.

It can be recalled that Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. successfully renewed its trademark rights on Eat Bulaga branding for another 10 years.

It means that TAPE would own the Eat Bulaga title until 2033.

Meanwhile, Joey took a swipe against TAPE’s celebration, saying that it would be better if they were celebrating without stealing anything from other people.

Joey claimed to be the inventor of Eat Bulaga title and they were aiming to get the ownership of its copyright, which were believed to be more powerful than owning the trademark of the noontime show.

Little Miss Philippines, binuhay muli ng Eat Bulaga bilang panapat sa Mini Miss U

Amid the popularity of It’s Showtime’s contest ‘Mini Miss U,’ Eat Bulaga announced the return of their iconic talent search, Little Miss Philippines.

The said segment produced several talents since its creation in 1984, including Camille Prats, Aiza Seguerra, Gladys Reyes, Julie Ann San Jose, Kim Domingo, Ryza Mae Dizon, and Pauleen Luna.

This year’s Little Miss Philippines was hosted by Winwyn Marquez and Cassy Legaspi.

Cassy admitted that she was a fan of the said talent search, saying that she dreamed to join the contest.

“Actually noong bata pa ako mahiyain ako pero yan talaga ang dream ko.” said Cassy.

Winwyn admitted that she wanted her daughter Luna to join Little Miss Philippines.

“Lagi akong nanonood niyan. Pero actually ‘yung anak ko ang pangarap kong sumali sa ‘Little Miss Philippines,’” she said.

Observers believed that their decision to revive the contest was the answer of TAPE Inc. to the popularity of Mini Miss U.

Meanwhile, it’s not yet known if E.A.T would also launch its own counterpart to challenge the two other noontime shows.

It can be recalled that TAPE owned the trademark of Little Miss Philippines, so E.A.T must present something different if ever they wanted to create a counterpart of the iconic Eat Bulaga segment.

Recently, Paolo even talked about the ownership of Eat Bulaga, which gained the reaction of the Dabarkads Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.

Cristy believed that Paolo was being confrontational, but at the same time, he also trying to present himself as a victim on the issue.

“Siya ‘yung starter, pero siya ‘yung pa-victim,” said Cristy. “Diba pag starter ka ikaw ang may kasalanan pero sa dulo pa-victim ka pa,”

“Yung pasulong sa lagi ‘yung banat niya pasulong, pero kapag patapos na biglang uurong na,” Cristy’s co-host Rommel Chika commented.

Cristy then agreed that Eat Bulaga should just change their title if they do not want to receive criticism from netizens.

As of writing, Paolo has yet to give any statement on the issue.

Comedian Michael V. talked about the popularity of his parody song ‘Oh Wow,’ and revealed that he wrote it to address the toxicity of some content creators on social media.

In an interview with Nelson Canlas, Bitoy said that he was not surprised if many people could relate to his newest song, saying that many netizens were already exposed to the negativity being shared by some influencers on social media.

“Ang dami yatang naka-relate. Nagiging toxic na rin kasi ang mga content creators ngayon,” said Michael.

He then reminded the content creators to inspire people instead of spreading toxicity.

“‘Yung mga content creators, dapat alam niyo ang salitang content. Sana maka inspire tayo ng generation na, ‘Ah, hindi pa puwede, puwede pang pagandahin’,” he added.

It can be remembered that motivational speaker Rendon Labador became one of the most talked about influencers on social media this year due to his confrontational way of giving comments on different issues.

Even Michael didn’t escape the wrath of Rendon and even asked the veteran comedian not to interfere with the style of other content creators.

“INFLUENCERS are the new celebrities! Kung hindi ninyo kayang makipag patalinuhan sa mga INFLUENCERS sa pag produce ng content.. Manahimik nalang kayo,” said Rendon.

He even labeled himself as a ‘creator,’ which was possibly a reference to his claims that he created the title Eat Bulaga.

It was reported that Joey also attempted to register the Eat Bulaga trademark under his name, but by looking at the decision made by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), it was possible that the veteran comedian’s request had been junked already to favor TAPE.

Meanwhile, TAPE executives and the current Eat Bulaga hosts celebrated the decision.

Motivational Speaker Rendon Labador reacted to the statement made by Atty. Mark Tolentino about the possible decisions of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) against It’s Showtime.

Atty. Tolentino said that aside from being suspended, it was also possible for the people behind It’s Showtime to face serious charges that might put some of them behind bars for three months to one year.

“Kung hindi nila ma-explain ng maayos ‘yan, pwedeng ma-suspend ang show or kung hindi man ma-suspend, pwedeng ma-terminate and otherwise, may criminal aspect pa ‘yan,” he explained.

“Kung sino ang maging liable, mayroong kulong pa ‘yan na three months hanggang one year plus may fine pa na up to 100,000 pesos sa mga indecent at immoral show na nangyari lalo na sa isang noontime show,” he also said.

Rendon then suggested that it would be better for the two It’s Showtime hosts to be displayed at the Manila Zoo so children would still see them.

“If ever, sa Manila Zoo po sila dapat ikulong para makita parin sila ng mga bata,” said Rendon.

Rendon has been criticizing Vice and Ion for several days already after the two Kapamilya hosts allegedly did indecent acts in front of children during one of the segments of It’s Showtime.
