Cagayan de Oro 1st District Representative Lordan Suan apologized to his constituents after he signed the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.
In an interview with Brigada News, Suan said that he was affected by the reaction from the Cagayanons after supporting the complaint, even if he was only doing his job for his district.
According to Suan, he only wanted to serve his constituents better by aligning himself with the administration, saying that he would have a hard time asking for the additional budget if he placed himself in the opposition.
The lawmaker said that he could not place himself in the opposition since hundreds of people were asking for financial assistance every day in his office.
Suan denied that there were efforts to force the lawmakers to sign the impeachment.
He also insisted that he didn’t lose his respect for the Duterte family despite his vote.
