Dr. Richard Mata republished a video of his message to content creators and vloggers who were known for promoting betting sites and earning commissions.
In his Facebook post, the celebrity pediatrician said that while people have free will, the actions done by some content creators were wrong.
According to him, Filipinos should look upon Singapore where betting is not part of their culture.
“For them, there’s no such thing as easy money. They taught the youth of having a mindset of hard work and discipline,” he said.
“Imagine if there are thousands of bloggers and we will show that we are getting rich due to betting, how many millions of young people are we going to destroy? Kawawa naman ang Pilipinas,” he added.
The doctor also reminded the content creators that their followers were idolizing them and should avoid taking advantage of them.
The said video reached thousands of reactions from the netizens.
“Tama ka dok hindi lang mga blogger pati pangalan ng artista ginagamit nila kesyo naglalaro sila ganito ng sugal so kapag fan ka susuportahan mo sila pero yung mga taong may mataas na common sense hindi nila maguguyo,” netizen Bebina said.
