A contestant at the 2024 Rodeo King & Queen pageant held in San Pablo, Isabela was ‘unbothered’ by the criticism she received on social media due to her answer during the Q&A portion of the event.
On January 27, 2024, contestant Lala Cheena Mae Bautista, the representative of Barangay Poblacion, went viral on social media due to her answer to the question.
“If you were a genie in a bottle, who would you like to serve as your master,” the host asked Bautista.
“Good evening everyone… If I was a genie in a bottle, I would like to serve my mother as my master… Because all I can say about our situation is whatever who you are where you from, your skin color, your gender identity just speak yourself, find your voice, find your name by speaking yourself, thank you,” she said.
The video received millions of views on social media and hundreds of hilarious comments from the netizens.
Bautista, who won the pageant despite his Q&A performance, showed she was not bothered by the comments against her and some doubts about how she won the contest.
Bautista won several awards, including Best in Swimsuit, Creative Rodeo Attire, and Best in the evening gown.
