Pura Luka Vega revealed that until now she had still no permanent legal counsel amid the case he was facing due to his controversial ‘Ama Namin’ performance last July.
It can be recalled that she was facing charges from two religious groups, the Philippines for Jesus Movement, and Hijos del Nazareno, for allegedly violating Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code which penalizes the ‘exhibition of indecent or immoral plays, scenes, acts, or shows and offend any race or religion’.
In an interview, Pura said that while many lawyers helped her, he admitted that he still couldn’t find a permanent counsel that would present her during court hearings.
“Wala pa rin naman akong legal firm/counsel, but grateful na ako sa kung anong suporta ang natatanggap ko. Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga lawyers na tumutulong saken pansamantala, they have helped me with the kindness of their hearts,” he said.
It can be recalled that a group launched a fundraising campaign to help Pura in the cases she was facing.
“Pura Luka Vega seeks for financial support as she faces trial this September.” the group Philippine Drag updates wrote.
“Your donations will go to Luka’s family and transpo/food for their court dates this September.” they added.
