Kapamilya journalist Karen Davila remembered the legacy of her colleague Mike Enriquez who passed away yesterday, August 30, 2023.
In her post, Davila shared several old photos of her while working with Enriquez on GMA Network from 1995 to 1998.
She described Enriquez as a ‘down to earth’ man who’s always keeping himself humble even if he was already a popular newscaster.
“Mike was a good guy. Down to earth. Funny. Magaan ka-trabaho, napakasaya kasama. Iβve always kept close to my heart what he told me, βthe challenge is staying humble as you go up the ladder”.
“Mike, I am forever grateful having known you. We will miss you [heart emoji] My heart goes out to his family,” Davila said.
She also posted several pictures of her together with Mel Tiangco and Winnie Monsod who also became part of Saksi.
Davila left GMA Network in 1998 and was replaced by Jay Sonza who also left the program a year later.
The media industry mourned the passing of Enriquez who was considered as one of the pillars of newscasting in the country.
Enriquez faced several health problems since 2018, but he came back in 2022 after being treated.
However, netizens noticed that he was gone again several months after returning on television.
