Journalist Karen Davila is also preparing to lost her job in ABS-CBN after her long-time colleague, Ces Oreña-Drilon, announced that she’s going to lost her job in August 31.
Oreña-Drilon was among the hundreds of workers that would be affected by the decision of ABS-CBN after the House of Representatives rejected their franchise application.
“This was one of the toughest days I had to face. Telling fellow kapamilyas that they would lose their jobs by end of August. I lost mine too,” Oreña-Drilon tweeted.
She worked at ABS-CBN since 1989 and one of the most vocal defenders of ABS-CBN during the franchise issue of the said network.

Karen Davila expressed her sadness over the news, saying that she’s also preparing for the same situation.
“This is heartbreaking. @cesdrilon it’s been an honor to be alongside you in Bandila. You are an ABSCBN news icon and inspiration. I am preparing my heart as well for the worst and will stand by ABSCBN til the end,”
As a response, Oreña-Drilon urged Davila to continue what she’s doing.
“Thank you for these words of comfort Karen. Keep on exposing the lies and wrongdoing. This isn’t goodbye. See you again soon. Magsasama ulit tayo! Once a kapamilya, always a kampamilya!”

“People have lost their jobs today. From top to bottom. Entire departments wiped out. Programs that supported thousands of artists, now off the air. The government didnt kill the Lopezes, they killed the livelihood of their own people. #70congressmen #ABSCBNFranchiseRenewal” she said.
