Rico Yan’s family finally addressed the trend of individuals visiting the actor’s resting place and making content out of it.

In a statement, Bobby Yan said they’re fine with people visiting Rico’s place in Manila.

He also clarified that random people visiting Rico were normal for them already.

“We welcome po anyone from anywhere. We have visitors from abroad visit Rico’s tomb and there are visitors weekly since 22 years ago,” said Bobby.

The Yan family also said that they would only take action if the situation already bothered the mausoleums near Rico.

“It’s nothing to be concerned about for now,” he said.

A social media personality was put behind bars after he allegedly asked for money from his ex-girlfriend in exchange for not spreading their private photos.

According to the report of NBI, social media personality Dibson Maybuena Manubay was caught by the authorities during an entrapment operation on July 6, 2024, in Mandaluyong City.

The complainant said she already ended her relationship with Manubay due to the latter’s attitude.

However, instead of moving on, Manubay used the private photos of his ex-girlfriend as a way to extort money from her.

Manubay allegedly asked for P30,000 from the complainant and even used his social media platform to tease the said private photos to his 18,000 followers.

The social media personality denied the allegations, saying that he was offering his ex-girlfriend to invest in his clothing line.

“Hindi ko siya hinihingan ng pera bali ang usapan po namin doon sa pera na ‘yon, dadagdagan niya ‘yung 20k ko para doon sa clothing line na ginagawa naming business,” he said.

“Kasi sabi niya sige aayusin na natin yang relasyon natin para wala ng gulo,” he added.

But the complainant showed sufficient evidence that Manubay forcefully asked her for money.

A psychology student who was thought to be missing finally clarified her current situation.

Several days ago, “Jamee,” a student of La Consolacion College in Bacolod, went viral on social media after several media outlets reported that she was missing.

Many thought that she was really missing and even created some theories that someone forcefully took her.

The Department of Health (DOH) was planning to push to ban ‘Mukbang’ content on social media after a vlogger passed away due to possible excessive eating.

According to DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa, he wanted to stop Filipino content creators from promoting unhealthy practices like Mukbang.

“It’s a bad practice because people make content by overeating,” said Herbosa. “And overeating is not healthy,”

“It would lead to obesity, and obesity will lead to hypertension, heart condition, non-communicable diseases,” he added.

He pointed out that Mukbang content creators only encouraged social media users to commit unhealthy behavior.

“I can ban it locally. I can propose banning Mukbang locally and ask DILG to stop those sites,” he stated.

As of writing, the lawmakers has yet to give their comment on the proposal of Herbosa, which many believed to be impossible to implement.
