Basilan TESDA director caught for possession of explosives

The authorities have caught the Provincial Director of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Basilan for possessing an IED and materials for making explosives Tuesday.

In the report from CIDG Region 9, the authorities who are carrying a search warrant found the dangerous materials, such as electronic blasting cap and ammunition at Provincial Director Muida Hataman’s house in Barangay San Rafael, Isabela City, Basilan.

They immediately investigated Hataman when they found that she’s a wife of one of the sub-commanders of Abu Sayaff identified as Radzmir Janatul.

TESDA released a statement saying that they would not tolerate such acts.

“For the information of the public, Hataman was hired as Supervising Technical Education and Skills Development (TESD) Specialist in July 2012 and was promoted as Director III in August 2013. She has been assigned in Basilan since then as Provincial Director.” TESDA Secretary Sid Lapena said.

“The agency is saddened by this incident, mindful that this may send the wrong messages to the sector that we serve. However, I will not tolerate any wrongdoings and rest assured that TESDA will cooperate in the investigation,” he added.

Hataman would be quickly removed from his position as Provincial Director.

Malacanang is not yet giving a statement over what happened to Hataman.

DPWH soon to award OPS for P5.5-B Boracay Bridge

The Department of Public Works and Highways said that they’re soon to finish the evaluation of the P5.5-B Boracay bridge which aims to connect the famous island to Panay.

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) is seen to be granted approval to start the project. Once the original proponent status (OPS) already finalized, DPWH would bring it to NEDA to get its final approval.

We’re still finalizing the OPS. We are still processing it. We can expect the OPS definitely soon,” DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said.

According to the project description, Boracay Bridge aims to:

1: To provide a reliable transportation means to Panay Island from Boracay Island which is optimized for the transportation using a bridge rather than ferries.

2: To provide a safe evacuation route for the people from Boracay Island when Typhoon approaches the island.

3: To prevent the sea and the land from being polluted by sewage water and preserve the environment of Boracay by moving out wastes as soon as they are generated To transport the waste generated in Boracay Island to Panay Island and supply water to Boracay Island through a water supply pipeline to be constructed on the proposed bridge.

4: To supply power and telecommunication through their pipelines to be constructed on the proposed bridge.

Boracay is expected to attract more tourist after President Rodrigo Duterte successfully rehabilitated the said island.

Some people who supported the proposed project said that the Boracay Bridge will also decongest the main island.

Currently, people need to access Boracay by boat and they need to pay 100 pesos for a terminal fee plus 25 pesos for the boat fare.

Pastor Joel Apolinario who founded KAPA Community Ministry International insisted that he would not surrender to the authorities despite the search operation already launched against him by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

In a radio interview, Apolinario said that he would not surrender to the authorities unless his members asked him to appear in public.

“Naniniguro lang po. Hindi naman sa diskumpiyado ako pero nananatili pa rin sa isipan ko ang aking kaligtasan,” Apolinario said.

“Sabagay, darating din ang panahon na kung gusto na ng mga members na ako ay lumantad para sa kanila ay pati buhay ko po itataya ko po basta para sa kagustuhan ng mga members.” he added.

He also said that it’s already impossible for him to return the money that he already gave to his members.

“Ang problema – papaano ko pa makukuha ang mga perang naibigay ko na sa aking mga members kung ang mga perang yun ay nagamit na nila sa pagbili ng bahay, pagbili ng sasakyan, naibayad na nila sa tuition, sa pagpapagamot, pagbili ng medisina, pagkain at sa iba pang pinagkagastusan?” Apolinario said.

It was reported that the KAPA founder already gathered P50-B pesos from his members.

But Apolinario insisted that the freeze order made by the government to his assets worth P100-M only are already enough for him to stop distributing “monthly blessings” to his members.

“Kung hindi kami pagbigyan nang pagkakataon na makapag-operate muli ‘yong aming ministry talagang sasabihin na namin na parang suntok sa buwan na ‘yon dahil hindi ko na makukuha rin yong mga naibigay ko sa mga tao,” Apolinario said.

Sen. Bato willing to help KAPA members: “Let me talk to your founder Pastor Apolinario”

Senator-elect Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa said that he’s willing to help the members of KAPA Community Ministry International.

On his Facebook post, Dela Rosa said that he already talked to President Rodrigo Duterte personally to relayed the stories of some members having concerns because of the money that they previously invested to the religious group founded by Pastor Joel Apolinario.

Bato expressed his willingness to talk to Pastor Apolinario so he could send the message of President to him and fix the things about KAPA.

Several weeks ago, KAPA issue became the headline of several media networks after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the closure of the said religious group.

“Sa mga miembro sa Kapa nga nangayo ug tabang nga ipaabot nako kang Pres Duterte ang inyong kaguol ako na syang nastorya,” Bato said.

(To all members of KAPA, don’t worry I already talked to President Duterte about your stories, and that I’m also saddened by what happened to some of you).

“Tabangi ko ninyo nga makastorya si Pastor Apolinario para maipaabot nako sa iyaha ang gusto ni PRRD. Tabangi ko ninyo nga matabangan ta mo,” he added.

(Please help me so I can talk to Pastor Apolinario, so I can relay the message of President Duterte to him. You help me, I’ll help you)

Apolinario is not yet responding to Bato’s request as of writing.

KAPA was questioned because of offering 30% investment rates to its members “donations.”

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) also ordered to freeze P100-M assets owned by Apolinario.

Meanwhile, several members of KAPA organized a prayer rally to convince President Duterte to allow their religious group to cooperate.

KAPA members also claimed that they made Imee Marcos, Christopher Bong Go, and Dela Rosa won the senatorial elections, boasting that they got 5-M members.

KAPA Founder Apolinario on returning money to members: “Suntok sa buwan”

KAPA Community Ministry International founder Pastor Joel Apolinario admitted in a radio interview that it’s almost impossible for him to return the money of the people who donated or invested to his religious group.

In an interview with DZBB, Apolinario blamed that the order of the Court of Appeals (COA) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to freeze his assets worth P100-M and several luxury vehicles.

However, if the claims of SEC are valid, KAPA already has gotten P50-B from its members.

But where is the remaining 49.9-B? That is what the SEC is looking.

Apolinario also added that all of his businesses already stopped operating because of the court order even his fishpond.

“Kung hindi kami pagbigyan nang pagkakataon na makapag-operate muli ‘yong aming ministry talagang sasabihin na namin na parang suntok sa buwan na ‘yon dahil hindi ko na makukuha rin yong mga naibigay ko sa mga tao,” Apolinario said.

He also insisted that what they’re doing is legal.

Meanwhile, the government encouraged the people to file a complaint against Apolinario so they can recover the money they invested in the religious group.

However, several loyalists of Apolinario said that they’re going to push the government to return KAPA and even planning to support their pastor in the 2022 presidential elections.

Sen. Bato speaks about KAPA: I wish Apolinario returns his members money

Senator-elect Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa finally spoke about the issue regarding KAPA Community Ministry International, showing concern on the situation of the members who lost their money.

In an interview, Dela Rosa expressed his sadness over the victims of KAPA, wishing that there’s still a chance for them to recover the hard-earned money that they donated or invested to the religious group founded by a former construction worker and now Pastor Joel Apolinario.

He also said that only President Duterte could decide on the fate of KAPA.

“Naluoy ko sa mga miyembro nga wala mabalik ang kwarta pero kung muingon ug pakialaman nako ang decisyon sa Presidente (President Rodrigo Duterte) that’s purely executive in nature (I really feel for the members who cannot get back their money but if I would ask the President, that decision is purely executive in nature),” Dela Rosa said.

“So hulaton lang nato kung unsay sunod niyang lakang kung duna pa siyay pagahimuon (Maybe we will wait for the President’s next move),” he added.

However, he would not waste any opportunity to ask Apolinario about the fate of KAPA members’ investment if there’s a chance for them to meet each other in the future.

Some members of KAPA even sold their lands and other sources of income like Carabaos just to donate in the religious group after Apolinario promised to give their members a 30% monthly interest rate.

Bato wished that Apolinario can still return the money to his members even without any interest included.

“Hopefully if given the chance I would ask what he (Apolinario) can say about any chance of returning the money of the members,” he said.

The former head of PNP who’s now an upcoming Senator denied in the past interviews that he received any money from KAPA during the campaign.

KAPA assets were frozen following the order of the Court of Appeals.

President Duterte also ordered to close down KAPA.

Foreign Affairs Sec. Locsin on VP Robredo’s recent statements : “Please do her the kindness to give her a brain!”

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teddy Locsin Jr. couldn’t stop himself from criticizing Vice President Leni Robredo after the latter warns over their plan to cancel the diplomatic passports of former officials of the government, including former Sec. Albert Del Rosario.

In a statement, Robredo said that the timing of the decision of the government is bad because they decided it in the wake of Del Rosario’s denial of entry in Hong Kong despite using a diplomatic passport.

As response Locsin Jr. on a Tweet called the second highest ranking official a “boba”, saying that he included the other government officials in his decision because he doesn’t want to make it look that they’re only imposing their new policy because of Del Rosario.

“Robredo warns against cancellation of diplomatic passports of former gov’t officials HEY, BOBA, THAT IS PRECISELY WHY I HAVE ORDERED THE CANCELLATION OF ALL COURTESY DIPLOMATIC PASSPORTS BECAUSE I REFUSE TO SINGLE OUT DEL ROSARIO,” Locsin told Robredo

“Will someone please do her the kindness to give her a brain? Here I am trying to do what’s right, which is to restrict diplomatic passports to real existing working diplomats so as not to devalue them abroad—and not pass them out as favors to retirees & friends,” he added.

Locsin even told Robredo that she should ask him if she wanted to learn more about the new decision of the government over diplomatic passports.

“I don’t mean to be disrespectful Ma’am. You are just a missing heartbeat away from the Presidency. I respect you for that accident of fortune. But there are things that require a measure of study & thought. Please ask me next time. At your service, Ma’am.” Locsin said.

It seems that Locsin was only carried away, apologizing to what he Twitted an hour ago.

Robredo is not yet giving any comments on Locsin’s tweet against her.

Agot Isidro says that she’s tired of being angry to the Duterte admin

Actress Agot Isidro expressed that she’s tired of being angry towards the Duterte administration.

In a comment, Isidro shared that she felt the same with another critic of the Duterte administration, Juan Miguel Severo, a musical artist.

“Pagod na pagod na ‘kong magalit sa administrasyong ito.” Severo said which Agot responded with a comment “ako din.”

Agot expressed her feelings on social media amid the recent issue on the West Philippine Sea involving 22 fishermen.

In her previous tweets, Isidro also expressed her sadness seeing the fishermen not smiling in the photos during their meeting with the Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Manny Pinol.

“Sec, parang kayo lang ang masaya,” Isidro said.

“Nakakapanlumo,” she added.

Isidro is a known critic of the Duterte administration since 2016 when she called the President a “psychopath” after the latter challenged the US and EU to withdraw their assistance to the Philippines.

“First of all, no one is trying to fight you. As a matter of fact, you’re the one who’s picking a fight. Secondly, the country where you are elected as president by 16 million out of 100-plus million is Third World. You talk as if the Philippines is a superpower. Excuse me, we don’t want to go hungry. If you want, you do it yourself. Leave us out of it. So many people have nothing to eat, and yet you’ll starve us even further… Third, I know a psychiatrist. Get yourself checked. You’re not bipolar. You are a psychopath.” Isidro told Duterte in 2016.

She also openly supported the senatorial bets of the opposition last senatorial elections.

PMA Alumnus explains why Aquinos are more Chinese than Duterte

An alumnus of the Philippine Military Academy made a Facebook post to explain who’s more Chinese than President Rodrigo Duterte.

According to Dan Jimenez, former Presidents Cory and Benigno Aquino are more “Chinese” than the current chief executive.

He pointed out that the ancestors of Cory came from mainland China.

“Cory Aquino traced her roots in mainland China and even went to the village where her Chinese side of the family came from. She adopted the “yellow” color as her banner and rallying trademark!” Jimenez said.

Jimenez also mentioned Noynoy, saying that the former President let the Chinese mine lands in Zambales to gather materials for their artificial islands in the West Philippine Sea.

He also said that Noynoy failed to be transparent in resolving the WPS issue during his time.

“Noynoy Aquino let the Chinese flattened two mountains in Zambales to be used to build up the disputed islands. Then, instead of transparent diplomatic negotiations, he used Trillanes to do a backdoor negotiation, the terms of which remain unknown to this day. It was after that the Chinese imposed their control.” Jimenez said.

“And how much money did Noynoy’s administration borrow from the Chinese? At least with Duterte’s loans, the results are very visible. Where did Noynoy’s loans go?” he added.

In his term as President, Duterte was accused of being Pro-China because of choosing to negotiate with the Chinese to resolve the West Philippine Sea issue than invoking the victory of the country over an arbitration case.

Until today, the opposition also criticized the President for being friendly to China.
