Singer Gladys Gueverra writes open letter to Duterte critics: “Enough is enough, leave the President alone & let him do his job!”

Actress Gladys Guevarra, also known as ‘Chuchay’ in television and internet publicly expressed her support to President Rodrigo Duterte whom according to her was mocked by many people because of his imperfections.

The former noontime show Eat Bulaga hosts posted her opinion about politics on her official Facebook page saying that she’s ready on the backlash of the Duterte critics just to defend the current President.

In her post, Guevarra said that she was felt ashame of some people in the Philippines who didn’t know how to respect the duly-elected President of the Philippines.

She also criticized several news networks and its reporters for writing ‘lies’ against the President for the sake of writing a sellable story.

According to her, it’s her first time to see a President being examined word-by-word by the media and his critics.

Guevarra urged the media people and Duterte critics just to leave the President and let him concentrate on his job first as the criticisms against the Chief Executive will never help the country.

You can read her post below:

“I offer no apology for what I am posting, for this is truly how I feel. This is my opinion, not a debate. If you disagree or find my opinions offensive, I’m perfectly fine with that & no, I’m not offended, feel free to unfriend me immediately.

I have lived through several Philippine Presidents prior to our current President Duterte. In my lifetime, I have never seen nor heard of a President examined over every word he speaks, humiliated by the public to the point of disgrace, slandered, ridiculed, insulted, lied to & beyond common logic, threatened with death.

I am truly ashamed of the people of MY country. I am ashamed of the ruthless, hating, Duterte haters who display themselves as to having no pride, morals, ethics nor values in Our Country’s traditions. Our Elders taught us 30, 40+ yrs ago to respect our President, whether we voted for them or not, & all these news stations & reporters who feel they have the right to carry on with obvious lies & say the things they do for a good story.

Every other President before he was elected, that took the oath of office, was left alone, wasn’t on the news 24/7, examined by their every word. ALWAYS BEING PRESSURED to do this or that & never given the time to take care of the important work this country really needs. I know he is not perfect, very different than what we’ve become in general to but ENOUGH is ENOUGH, LEAVE THE MAN ALONE & LET HIM DO HIS JOB!! None of the other Presidents in their times were spotless or perfect either. I want our President Rodrigo Duterte to succeed & try to make our Philippines great again!”

A day after her first post about the President, Guevarra defended herself from the critics who mocked her from supporting Duterte.

According to Guevarra, she’s not defending the President because she wanted anything from the government because she’s already contended with her own life and job.

She also invoked her right to Freedom of Expression as a citizen of the Philippines.

“Bilang indibiduwal, boses ko po itong sinasabi ko ang saloobin ko, dahil citizen din ako ng Pilipinas. At ikaw na nagsalita ng mga masasakit sa akin, pwede? Respeto lang po talaga. At kung napapansin ninyo, sa mga hate messages ninyo, minsan parang mas wala kayong laman. May Presidenteng nakaupo, sumunod nalang kayo, kayo rin nagpapabagal ng pag unlad natin pare-pareho eh. Just saying,”

Despite negative comments, Guevarra also received many positive comments and support from her fellow Duterte supporters.

As of writing, both Guevarra’s post reached 2,000 reactions and hundreds of shares on Facebook.

“Ako ang pinagkatiwalaan dito (ng Diyos), tatay ninyo si Lucifer, tinalo ko dito, …hindi ninyo natalo siya eh! Tatay ninyo siya eh, tingnan ninyo hawak hawak niya ang mga leeg ninyo,” Quiboloy said in his TV apperance at Sonshine Media Network International.

(God entrusted me in this world, you’re the children of Lucifer, you didn’t even defeat him because every one of you is his children, look Lucifer holds your necks)

Quiboloy explained that he would never waste his time accepting the debate challenges of his critics because he knew that he’s the “truth” and the “only way” for every people to reach heaven in their afterlife.

“Ako na nga ang katotohanan, ako ang daan at ang buhay, pag hindi kayo dumaan sakin, hindi kayo pupunta sa langit!” Quiboloy said.

Duterte orders DSWD not to let Mayors handle the distribution of relief goods and cash subsidies from the national government: “Bakit di nalang idiretso sa tao?”

President Rodrigo Duterte said that he would not let the Department of Social Welfare and Development give the relief goods from the national government to the Mayors and other local officials during calamities.

This is what the President has announced during a press conference on Tuesday at the Malacanang Palace.

Duterte said that he tasked the incoming DSWD secretary Rolando Bautista, the retiring chief of the Philippine Army (PA) to do not let the Mayors handle the distribution of relief goods to their people.

According to him, he had a debate with the “acting chief” of DSWD on how the national government would distribute their help to the people.

The President said that the said “acting chief” insisted that the national government should give the relief goods to the Mayor instead of giving it directly to the peoople.

“Sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Look, why don’t you just give the money directly? It is national funds. It is national relief goods.’ Kung ibigay mo ‘yan sa mayor, dahan-dahan mawala ‘yan. I know. I’ve been mayor,” he said.

Duterte believes that if the national government let the mayors handle the cash subsidies, the local politicians might only give help to their supporters.

“Tapos sabi ko, once the list is validated, kayo ang magbigay sa pera and in times of emergencies, kayo ang mag-release sa goods. Maybe the mayor will help in the distribution. Eh ‘pag debate — ‘pag debate pa,” he said.

When got informed by the DSWD that such process was not based on Commission on Audit (COA) circular, he insisted that the commission was a “different entity” that should not interfere in the decision of the executive branch.

“We run the Executive department. I do not want COA interfering of how I distribute the goods and money to the people. For as long as they reach the intended beneficiaries, COA has nothing to do with it except to audit,” he said.

“Kasi kung ibigay mo sa mayor ang bigyan niya ‘yung mga supporters niya, in times of crisis ang bigyan niya, eh partisan eh.” he added.

“So this is not a place where you have that luxury of choice. It must be given to the intended persons, who would need it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Duterte also defended his decision to appoint another military man in the Cabinet, saying that they’re doing their task very well than civilian appointees.

“Gusto ko talaga kasi isang utos lang, nagagawa,” Duterte said.

“Sometimes they cut corners but you just have to defend them because it’s your order. Hindi naman kasi magsunod-sunod ka dito. It takes you forever. Ang gobyerno is really, really, really, very slow,” he added.

‘Doctor ng Bayan’ Willie Ong files COC for Senator to follow the footsteps of Juan Flavier

Cardiologist Willie Ong is officially running in the 2019 senatorial elections.

The doctor who’s known for giving health tips on social media marked his intention to enter politics after he filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Manila.

Ong is running under Lakas-Christian Muslims Democrats (Lakas-CMD) party where late Senator Juan Flavier is also a member.

According to him, he wanted to follow the footstep of Flavier who’s also a doctor by profession.

“Nakita ko ‘yung butas sa Senate, wala tayong doktor doon. Walang doktor doon na nagsusulong sa Committee on Health katulad ni Senator Juan Flavier,” Ong said in a press conference after filing his COC.

“Kapag napuntahan mo ‘yung mahirap na pasyente, maaawa kayo, matatransform kayo. Gusto natin tumulong, natry ko sa private, natry ko sa media, natry ko sa DOH (Department of Health), ito ang kailangan ngayon ng tao,” Ong added.

He also shared his platforms and he would push if he win a Senate seat.

“Ano isusulong natin? ‘Yung GOAL. ‘Yung ‘G’, Gamot. Dapat mas mura siya, or libre … Uulitin natin ‘yung cheap medicines bill. ‘Yung ‘O’, simpleng Operasyon like sa goiter, gall bladder, luslos … Gusto natin magawang package ‘yan, maoperahan natin,” he said.

“‘A’, sa Advice. ‘Yung ginagawa natin sa Facebook. Kailangan mas malawak, mas simple, mas direct … And ‘L’, Lab test. Kailangan ilibre ng PhilHealth.”

“Ang health hindi siya ganon kasimple. Sasabihin mo libreng gamot, libreng operasyon, mayroon kang complication … Kailangan marunong ka para ipasa,” Ong added.

No one expected that Ong would run for Senator, even his fans were shocked when the doctor surprised his followers on Facebook about his intention.

He only announced his intention to enter politics this month.

Before becoming a famous doctor on social media, Ong first appeared on television giving free health tips to people.

Ong also offered his help to the victims of Dengvaxia.

Lea Salonga, Jed Madela slams people who neglected the Yolanda donations: “Shame on you!”

Two artists expressed their disgust over the neglect committed by the Aquino administration on the goods donated by other countries for the Yolanda victims.

On October 3, Bureau of Customs (BOC) destroyed tons of donation from Belgium, U.S, and Norway because of being expired.

The goods were donated in 2014 and declared as abandoned in June 2017 since the donors and consignees did not get an exemption from the payment of taxes and duties from the Department of Finance which is needed before the shipment will be released.

These donations, including used clothing, diapers, and medical supplies could help thousands of Yolanda victims who were very needy during those time.

The news reached Lea Salonga who expressed her anger over what happened to the Yolanda donations.

She blamed the red tape for what happened to the donations.

“I guess my reserves of rage go deeper than I thought. Haaaaaaaaaaay nakuuuuuuuuu. Thanks, red tape. Thanks for nothing.” Salonga said in her post.

“Trying to find the words to express my feelings…. it’s like finding cotton candy in a cloud.” Salonga told one of her friends.

Her Facebook friends also expressed her anger, because the government did not give any exemption to the donations although thousands of Yolanda victims needed it.

“Never distributed because donors did not apply for tax exemption”?????!!!! WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFFFEEEEEEKKKK” Luz Lor said.

What they must really mean was the Phil government didn’t get enough BRIBES to have any incentives to actually help the Filipino people who were already suffering , while these corrupt politicians sit high and safe and dry in their castles” she added.

Blogger Maia Villapañe also shared her insights on what the government really did during the Yolanda aftermath.

“You know what’s even more infuriating? The officials at that time still insist they were on top of things and that they did their best to help everyone. If this is their best, I wouldn’t be surprised if the typhoon victims demand their heads on pikes.” Villapañe said.

She also narrated how Davao City quickly helped the Yolanda victims.

“I’m from Cagayan de Oro, we experienced firsthand what their brand of help was like when Sendong hit. The first responders were the people of Davao City, complete with search and rescue teams, perfectly packed relief goods, and no epal politician names stamped on them. Where were the officials responsible for coordination of relief goods distribution? Nowhere. And someone had the gall to say he wasn’t going to cancel his Christmas party at Malacañang just because it would be embarrassing for the guests.” she said.

Even artist Jed Madela expressed his anger against the people who were responsible for what happened to the Yolanda donations.

Nakakahiya!!! Shame on whoever caused this! Shame on you!” Madela said.

In response, Lea Salonga said that “Karma needs a double espresso.”

Madela also wants the people who neglected the donation should be put on curse.

‘Oo nga! Sana whoever is behind this waste, everything they put in their mouth will taste like garbage!” Madela said.

Until today, critics blamed the Aquino administration for what happened to the donations and still asking why the government didn’t exempt it from paying taxes.

Alejano on Duterte wearing face mask: “Isa itong indikasyon na may malubha siyang sakit na iniiwasang maimpeksiyon,”

Magdalo party-list Representative Gary Alejano said that President Rodrigo Duterte wearing a face mask proves that the chief executive is suffering in severe illness.

Alejano made the statement after photos of Duterte wearing a black face mask during his visit to Hong Kong several days ago has been circulated on social media.

Duterte was photographed buying some clothes together his family and the face mask wearing by the President made the critics of the government suspected that he’s there to seek medical treatment.

Several hours after the photo circulated, Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher ‘Bong’ Go posted several pictures of Duterte wandering around Hong Kong without wearing a face mask.

“Nakatakip ang mukha ng pangulo ng mask. Isa itong indikasyon na may malubha siyang sakit na iniiwasang maimpeksiyon,” said Alejano.

According to him, he would not believe that Duterte wore the face mask to hide his identity because there are many Filipinos working in Hong Kong know the people who accompanied the President during his trip.

“Naniniwala ako na ang pagsuot ng mask ay hindi para ikubli ang pagkatao ng Pangulo dahil kilala naman ng libu-libong Pilipino sa Hong Kong si SAP Bong Go, Honeylet Avanceña at ang anak nito, pati ang halos dalawampung security escorts na kasama ng pangulo,” said Alejano.

He urged Malacanang not the hide the true condition of the President because the people has the right to know the real health of Duterte.

“Muli, nanawagan ako sa Malacañang na isa-publiko ang tunay na estado ng kalusugan ng pangulo. Nais natin na malusog siya at nasa tamang kondisyon at pag-iisip upang maharap niya ang samu’t saring problema na kinakaharap ng bansa ngayon,” said Alejano.

On Tuesday, Go announced that the President is “cancer-free” and can finish his term.

“Sorry to disappoint his critics, the President is very healthy and in high spirits. I know for a fact that he is cancer-free,” Go told reporters.

“He will finish his term and live beyond 2022. Tuloy lang po ang aming trabaho. Salamat po sa inyong concern sa kaniyang kalusugan. I assure you, there is nothing to worry about.”

The President itself also denies that he went to Hong Kong to seek medical attention.

Two ladies has gone viral after allegedly disrespecting security personnel who only wants to check the boxes that they’re carrying

Two ladies went viral on social media on Wednesday after allegedly disrespecting the security personnel who wanted to check the packages being transported inside a compound.

In the video posted by Facebook Trending TV, it showed two ladies trying to use force against the security personnel just to prevent the latter from inspecting the boxes that they were delivered.

The security personnel kept calm even he was being pushed and shouted by the two ladies.

One of the ladies even asked the security personnel about their rights to inspect the goods being delivered inside the compound.

Trending TV claims that the man in the video is the police, however, we found out that it’s only a security guard who tasked the inspect anything being transported inside the compound.

As of writing, the video already reached 50,000 views on social media, however, the said Facebook page didn’t post the whole story of the video on their caption so we tried to investigate about its origin.

After our research, we found out that the incident happened at Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) housing compound at #36 Tandang Sora Avenue, Quezon City.

The two ladies were identified as the housemaids of Angel Manalo, brother of INC Executive Minister Eduardo V. Manalo.

We also found out that the original source of the viral video came from Eagle News.

According to INC, they’re inspecting the goods being transported inside the compound to keep everyone safe.

“These past few days, even their housemaids acted inappropriately when INC security guards tried to inspect the items they were bringing inside. CCTV video has shown they tried to fight off the INC security, trying to hurt them, hurling invectives and other foul words at them as the INC security guards tried to do their inspection,” INC spokesperson Edwil Zabala said.

“All these have brought alarm to the brethren of the INC.  A big number of INC members have expressed apprehension for the security, not only of the INC Central Office, but more importantly for the life of our most beloved Executive Minister Brother  Eduardo V. Manalo,”  he added.

In 2015, Angel and his mother Tenny Manalo accused Iglesia Ni Cristo of persecution after they exposed the alleged corruption of the said Church.

The leadership of INC strongly denies the accusations of Angel and Tenny, they decided to remove the two Manalos from the Church and ordered them to leave the compound.

However, the camp of Angel Manalo refused to leave the Manalo compound.

“Their privilege to stay in the INC’s housing located at the said compound ended with their expulsion from the Church on July 23, 2015.  Since then, they have already lost the privilege to reside in the housing compound of the Church. Nevertheless, in consideration of Christian principles and humanitarian reasons, we did not immediately order them to vacate the premises,” Zabala said.

“Despite being allowed to stay within the property owned by the Church, they have decided to engage in activities that threaten the very security of the INC compound which is very close to the INC Central Office, including the residents living near the area,” he added.

Gretchen Fullido releases text messages of ABS-CBN exec to prove her allegations

The camp of ABS-CBN newscaster Gretchen Fullido released the text messages allegedly sent to her by one of her former boss, Cheryl Favila.

Favila is one of the ABS-CBN execs faces complaints about allegedly persecuting Fullido after she refused to fulfill the fantasies of her boss.

Marvin Aceron, the lawyer of Fullido shared some of the text messages of Favila to his client to prove that the ABS-CBN exec sent text messages “loaded with s*xual innuendoes.”

In one of the text messages, Favila allegedly told Fullido that while she pushed for the complainant to be the social media anchor for the 2016 elections, she still liked the latter to be a stripper.

“I pitched for you to be the social media anchor for Election Marathon. But mas gusto ko pa rin ng (I still like a) strip-teaser. Gretch yata (Maybe).” Favila told Fullido in 2015.

Favila even sent some writing advice which offended Fullido.

“Think of writing a story this way: having s*x is different from ‘making love.’ Making love entails emotions, not just doing the act. Always try to ‘make love’ to your stories. I am very partial to it.”

In another incident, Favila sent an unusual response to Fulido who greeted the former for her birthday.

“Thank you, Gretchen! Pero gusto ko ng live rendition ng Happy Birthday song mo, na naka super sexy outfit ka. Hahaha! Birthday ko naman, di ba?”

Sometimes, the former ABS-CBN exec even sending naughty messages to Fulido and acting like that they’re into a relationship.

“Good morning! Tara Grets was my shower moment this morning…”

“What time are you coming to work? (Fullido: On the way to [ABS-CBN] now. What’s up?) Wala naman. Miss lang kita. Masama ba? Sungit.” (Nothing. I miss you. Is that wrong? Crabby.) “Kailangan mo rin ng konting lambing sa katawan.” (You need some tenderness in your body.)

“Good luck on your Deal or No Deal. May the force be with you! Bawal ang jowa ha … Lagot ka sa akin.” (Don’t hook up! I’ll see to that.)

“Promises fulfilled — I have opened the doors to your dreams by creating your own segment on TV Patrol, despite doubts and criticisms from various camps; I got you a talent fee increase, which is double of what you are currently getting (not really bad). I have set-up the stage for you. Now, it’s time for me to continue the journey to my destiny. Maktub. Good luck to yours. It’s nice to have crossed your path this lifetime, Gretchen.”

“Sana naman parati kang ganyan. Pagod na ako makipag-away. It’s emotionally draining, and you can’t take my intensity. So gets mo na ang style ‘di ba? Be a good girl always.”

The camp of Fulido also showed their basis on the libel complaints against news executives Cecilia “Ces” Drilon, Venancio Borromeo and news reporter Marie Lozano.

According to the ABS-CBN’s internal investigation after Fullido filed an administrative complaint against Favila and Aspre, Ces Drilon allegedly stated:

“Gretchen’s accusations of sexual harassment against Chair (Favila) and Maricar (Asprec) also surprised me because many times, while I worked as anchor for TV Patrol, I witnessed [anchors]Ted Failon and Noli de Castro make side comments, in between breaks on TV Patrol, about Gretchen’s body, manner of dress, or behavior that, in my opinion, constituted sexual harassment or at least inappropriate behavior. But Gretchen Fullido only laughed off those comments. She never complained.” Drilon allegedly said.

“One remark she made in one party struck me: she said she was willing to wear a bikini with an inflatable pool and bubbles on TV Patrol to shore up its ratings,”  Drilon added.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN released a statement on the recent move of Fullido against her coworkers, saying that the media giant do not “condone such acts in the workplace or by its employees”.

“When Ms. Fullido filed an administrative case against a supervising producer and a segment producer for alleged sexual harassment in November 2017, the company took prompt action on the administrative complaint and decided based on the evidence presented.” ABS-CBN said in their statement.

Veteran journalist worries about what ABS-CBN can do to Gretchen Fullido: “Expect that they will launch a massive vilification campaign like what they did to Mel Tiangco”

Veteran journalist and now internet blogger Jay Sonza expressed his concern on what the television network giant ABS-CBN could do with their news anchor Gretchen Fulido who filed cases against her executives.

In his post, Sonza said that as a journalist for many decades, he was already aware of how ABS-CBN can vilify the people who stood up against them.

He also claimed several personalities who were vilified by the said TV Network.

Sonza said that he knows the dark side of ABS-CBN because he also worked there for ten years.

You can read his post below:

“Expect abs-cbn to launch a massive vilification campaign vs. ms. gretchen fulido. that has always been their brand when an employee seek legal, labor or judicial redress.

they did that ms. ruth abao.
they did that to ms. mel tiangco.
they did that to tiya dely.
they did that to dozens of their other employees.

tatak ng abs-cbn iyan. kapag may nagreklamo, sisiraan iyong pobreng empleyado sa public thru their paid showbiz writers, in-house PR machinery and their hired law firms.

I should know. have been there for ten years.”

Jay Sonza and Mel Tiangco clashed with ABS-CBN after the two transferred their show in GMA 7.

Tiangco also recalled in one of her interviews that the most painful part of her life is when she was persecuted by her former network in 1995 when she was suspended after appearing into a detergent commercial.

“Ang natutunan ko lang sa experience na yun, ‘You cannot put a good man down.’” Tiangco said in her interview with Pep.ph

Meanwhile, columnist Malou Tiquia also shared her bad experience with one of the high officials of ABS-CBN after she labeled the said TV Station of being the “biggest political party in the country.”

According to her, after she said those words, ABS-CBN banned her and confirmed that she never set foot on that station since 2016.

This is what she said.

“In one of my guesting then, Manong Jay, I said that the biggest political party in the country is that TV station. Guess what, the head of news and public affairs issued a ban on me. Then when I accepted an offer to host in another station, the same person told a common friend, “Bakit naman si Malou pumunta pa sa iba”as if that person made me. So, in return, I told anyone inviting me from said station that I have been banned and they better tell their news and public affairs head about the invite. I have never set foot on that station since 2016. I have good friends there but that head is something else. Funny, one friend said, “they can unmake you.”

On October 5, Gretchen Fulido filed charges against former ABS-CBN News Executive Cheryl C. Favila and Maricar P. Asprec, ABS-CBN News Segment, Producer for allegedly persecuting her.

She also filed libel cases against her colleagues Cecilia ‘Ces’ Drilon and Venancio Borromeo,  Marie Lozano, “alleging that the three besmirched her reputation when they stated that she filed a similar s*x*al persecution complaint against Favila and Asprec with ABS-CBN management to leverage her employment status with ABS-CBN.”
