PCSO admits that the viral photo of lotto winner in Bulacan is edited

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) admitted that the viral photo showing a lotto winner, whom the netizens described as a ‘dressing doll’ due to its poor editing was edited.

In an interview with Unang Hirit, PCSO General Manager Mel Robles it was clarified that the said photo was showing the winner of the 6/42 lotto last December 23 and not the winner of the PHP640-M jackpot prize of the 6/49 Super Lotto.

He also said that they edited the photo uploaded on the PCSO social media pages to protect the winner’s identity.

According to them, they were not allowed to disclose the identity of the winner due to their privacy rights.

It was understandable as lotto winners were prone to danger as they were holding big amounts of money.

They also prefer not to be identified to avoid being recognized by their friends or relatives who might ask for ‘balato.’

It can be recalled that there were conspiracy theories circulating on social media that PCSO officials were rigging the results of the lotto and bagging the prize money for their own benefit.

A director couldn’t hide his surprise when he was informed about the appearance fee of Ian Veneracion for a 2-hour parade in Tarlac City.

In his post, Director Ronaldo Carballo disclosed the negotiation between a talent coordinator and Ian’s road manager, saying that the actor’s appearance fee would reach P500,000 for the first two hours and an additional P100,000 for every excess hour.

Ian’s road manager also added that the actor should have his float and must be paid in full before the actual event.

While the Tarlac Festival management said that they could afford the talent fee for Ian, they still withdrew from hiring the actor due to many demands given by the road manager.

“Hindi namin masasabing matatapos ang parade ng two hours. Baka pag two hours na, dahil bayad na siya, bigla na lang syang bumaba ng float at iwanan lahat ng tao,” the director wrote while quoting the producers of Tarlac Festival.

The management then decided to replace Ian with Piolo Pascual.

Carballo said that if the story was true, the actor’s talent fee was overpriced.

“OA ang 500k for a parade kahit limang oras pa. Buti kung binabayaran si Ian ng kahit 200k per day taping magdamag, kung may teleserye sya o may pelikula sya,” he said.

“Hetong 500k na hinihingi ya, kakaway-kaway lang sya sa parada,” he added.

Netizens kinilabutan sa nakuhang footage sa isang prusisyon sa Cavite

Netizens couldn’t hide their worry after one of the acolytes who joined the procession of Sto. Niño in Kawit, Cavite, appears to be without a head.

A Facebook video uploaded by netizen EJ Tiglao showed the man wearing a white robe without a head while participating in the procession.

There was also no sign that the head of the man was only edited out on the video as smoke could be seen passing in the position where the head of the acolyte was supposed to be located.

Some netizens shared that what happened to the man was a bad omen and should be informed immediately.

“Kahit tinapik lang nya sa balikat,” netizen Jhe said.

However, there was a possibility that the man was only looking down, and he only appeared without a head due to his clothing.

“Nakayuko po yan, may ganyan kasi na damit na deretcho at di nauunat basta basta, pero Sana wala rin masamang mangyari sa sakristan, dasal at Panalangin ang Tunay na sandata,” netizen CJ remarked.

According to some local beliefs, appearing headless in a photo or video was a sign that someone unfortunate would happen to the said person.

To counter the omen, the person must bury the clothes he used during the time when he was seen headless.

In an interview with News5, Jessie Virtudazo, who’s also being called now by the netizens as ‘Mang Boy Jr.’ and ‘Vin Unleaded’ insisted that he had a proper reason to confront the said vehicle owners, saying that they’re not disciplined enough to drive.

“Can you imagine kung sobrang bilis ko tumakbo tapos bigla mo ko ika-cut ng ganoon diba eh paano kung tinamaan ka? Sisisihin mo pa ako,” he said.

“That’s my exact point, hindi naman ako magwawating ng ganon kung walang dahilan,” he stated.

According to him, he was also not affected by the criticism he received on social media, saying that they did not know the real story behind the video.

He also believed that people would criticize others for whatever they were doing.

“Sinusunog na sila sa impiyerno, sino ba ang kasama ko? Siya lang [Lord],” he stated.

Virtudazo also didn’t show any regret for what he did.

“Why would you ask me if I have regrets for that?” he asked. “Alam mo, whatever I did, I already did,”

A vehicle owner went viral, not only once but thrice after his confrontation with other drivers was captured and posted on social media.

The man, who’s not yet named, confronted several drivers and shouted at them due to a traffic argument in several places in Quezon City.

Mang Boy was the man who went viral in 2022 after he confronted a group who were celebrating New Year.

Netizens said that Mang Boy resembled the viral driver who also went viral during the first week of this year.

However, the mother of the man made a plea to the public to understand her son’s situation.

“Ayaw ko ngang magkaganyan siya dahil siyempre anak ko siya. Hindi siya nakakahiya, nakakaawa din,” the mother said.

“Nagkakaganyan siya dahil sa depression yata dahil sa nawalan siya ng trabaho, call center kasi. Nitong December natanggal siya,” she added.

She also showed several documents to prove that her son was facing mental health problems.

She then asked the drivers who were confronted by her son to understand the reason why her son acted like that.

“Sana wag nalang nilang pansinin kasi hindi naman sila nasaktan,” she said.

They’re also willing to cooperate with LTO to fix the issue.
