Basketball player James Yap shared his first conversation with his son Bimby Aquino Yap after several years of not talking to each other.

It can be recalled that Kris Aquino, former partner of James, shared that Bimby made the first move to connect with his father on Father’s Day.

“Yesterday Father’s Day, my bunso made me proud – he’s had the number to contact for almost a week, and the reluctance was so real, yet he took the 1st step towards rebuilding a relationship that i know will require some time to repair PERO ang mahalaga ay nagsimula na…” said Kris.

In an interview with Dolly Anne Carvajal of Inquirer, Yap couldn’t hide his happiness after finally talking to his son after eight years.

“I’ve been praying for this day to come. Na-miss ko sobra si Bimb! It’s the best Father’s Day gift ever. He said that he is looking forward to seeing his brother MJ again and meet his sister Francine soon. He wished me luck in my new career as a public servant.” James told Carvajal.

In 2021, Bimby revealed that he never talked to his father, saying that his mother was enough for him.

“Yeah ’cause… Sorry sa bluntness po ha, I don’t really care,” Bimby said when asked if he’s ready to forgive James.

Kris also denied that she’s the one who urged Bimby not to talk to James.

Bimby also revealed that James knew his number but never contacted him.

“I have a phone, and it just takes like 10 digits s keypad to call me, e, hindi niya ginawa in ilang years,” he stated.

 

Vice Ganda speaks about TVJ and Eat Bulaga issue: ‘Yung desisyon nila, malaki ang epekto sa amin na nananahimik”

Comedian Vice Ganda finally reacted to the issue between Eat Bulaga Dabarkads and Television and Production Exponents Inc., which shaped the competition on free television.

In his vlog, Vice, the primary host of Eat Bulaga’s long-time competitor ‘It’s Showtime,’ said that their show was affected by the issue that resulted in them leaving TV5.

It can be recalled that the former Eat Bulaga hosts led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon left TAPE Inc. and GMA Network on May 31, 2023, and decided their transfer to TV5.

TV5 then decided to give their noontime slot to the upcoming new TVJ show, resulting in Vice’s show leaving the network.

According to the comedian, they didn’t imagine that TVJ would leave GMA Network after decades of staying there.

“Tayo ‘yung casualty nung naging problema ng TVJ at saka nung Eat Bulaga. Sabi ko, ‘Parang tayo ‘yung tinamaan ng mga kanyon na ibinala nila.’ ‘Yun ang unang naging damdamin namin.” Vice said.

“Kasi nung una, ‘di ba, okay naman sila do’n, okay din naman kami, ‘di ba? Parang, ‘Okay na tayo dito.’ Kasi kung hindi naman sila nag-away, e ‘di buo pa rin sana sila. May kontrata pa naman sila sa GMA hanggang next year, ‘di ba? Pero dahil hindi sila nagkasundo, nagkahiwalay.” he added.

However, Vice said that he understood that TVJ and other Eat Bulaga hosts needed a new home, but at the same time, their competitors, including ‘It’s Showtime’, were affected by the decision made by the legendary trio.

He also believed that the situation was beyond their control, so they decided to just transfer to GMA Network.

‘”Yung mga naging desisyon nila, malaking-malaki ang naging epekto sa amin na nananahimik, ‘di ba? Pero hindi rin namin pwedeng sisihin ang TVJ dahil lahat naman kami, gusto lang magtrabaho. Lahat naman kami, may ipinaglalabang bahay. Lahat kami, may ipinaglalabang programa. Lahat kami, may ipinaglalabang audience na gustong pagsilbihan.” he stated.

“Wala tayong magagawa. Tatanggapin natin ‘yon. Hindi man masyadong pabor sa atin [na palitan ng TVJ sa 12:00 slot, but] again, hindi natin pwede ‘yung i-take against them kasi nagtatrabaho lang din naman sila.” he added.

 

 

‘Everybody Sing’ ni Vice Ganda sa TV5, posibleng palitan ng ‘Sing Galing’ ni Allan K

After the noontime show, It’s Showtime left TV5 after deciding not to stay with the same network as the former Eat Bulaga hosts, another show of comedian Vice Ganda was rumoured to leave the network and be replaced by a program led by another Dabarkads.

According to the reports, Vice’s ‘Everybody Sing’, which was first aired on TV5 last June 3, might end soon because of Dabarkads Allan K’s singing program ‘Sing Galing’.

Sources claimed that Allan’s program would be favoured over Vice’s show because of the decision of It’s Showtime not to stay with TV5.

It can be recalled that Allan became the host of the program from 1998 to 2004 and also returned in 2021 after its revival on TV5.

It’s not yet known if TVJ Productions, where Allan was a talent, would produce the show.

TVJ Productions was formed by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon after they left Eat Bulaga and GMA Network on May 31, 2023.

The said production company already partnered with TV5 to provide content to the network.

TVJ Productions was set to produce their new unnamed noontime show, Iskul Bukol and Wow Mali.

As of writing, Vice Ganda has yet to give any comment about the said reports.

Television and Production Exponents Inc. executives insisted that they own even the ideas made by the former Eat Bulaga writers who left their company together with Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon on May 31, 2023.

In an interview, TAPE Inc. responded to former Eat Bulaga host Tito Sotto who claimed that their former Vice-President for Creatives and Production, Jenny Ferre, owned some of the segments in the noontime show.

Ferre was behind their popular segments of Eat Bulaga, including “Kalyeserye,” “Pinoy Henyo,” Bawal Judgmental,” and “Juan for All, All for Juan,.”

However, TAPE officials said that Ferre was being paid by their company to create segments for them.

“Wala ba siyang sweldo? Diba, it’s part of her job to create that?” Jalosjos said. “Huwag na natin pahirapan pa. Yung mga writers ng isang show, puwede ba nila i-claim na sa kanila na yun while they’re being paid salaries, allowances?” 

“While you’re being paid to be [a] creative, and then what you created is yours? Is that right?” he added.

Despite their claims, TAPE Inc. didn’t use the said segments in the revamped version of Eat Bulaga for unknown reasons.

They also insisted they have documents, including contracts to prove their claims.

“Kaya nga, why are they claiming na sa kanila? Wala nga silang proof na sa kanila.” they said.

“Any creative idea within that span of period, that’s company-owned,” they added.

It can be recalled that Sotto said that the law stated that the copyright for the Eat Bulaga title and its segments were owned by its creators.

“For us, we follow, ika nga, the international rule. Even in the Supreme Court jurisprudence here in the Philippines and abroad, the creators are the owners,” Sotto explained.

“When you create something, at the moment of creation, you are the owner,” he added.

Actor Paolo Contis challenged his critics to face him personally and deliver their criticisms against him.

In an interview, Paolo said that some netizens were only brave in airing criticisms because they only told it in their homes.

However, the actor was confident that people would be afraid to tell their criticisms against him in person because of his possible reaction.

“To be honest, oo, minsan magugulat ka na, ‘Ano? Wow, saan galing yon? Sa ‘yo ba nangyari?’ But it’s the social media thing.” said Paolo.

“Kasi, hindi sila masasapak sa mukha habang sinasabi nila yon. Subukan nilang sabihin sa harap ko yon kung ano ang mangyayari sa kanila. Kaya tumapang ang mga tao, e. Pero kapag tinanong mo ang ano, zero, zero! Ay, imbento, tigilan ako,”  he added.

He also said that he’s not paying attention to the negative comments he received on social media, saying he doesn’t even know his critics.

“Totoo, wala talaga. Kasi, alam ko naman ang mali ko,” he stated.

It can be recalled that Paolo was already controversial even before his Eat Bulaga hosting because of his failed relationship with his former partners.

However, his hosting stint in Eat Bulaga amplified the negative comments against him and even urged him to send financial support to his children.

 

Xander Ford admits his videos were ‘scripted’ amid his online feud with Makagwapo

Xander Ford made a huge revelation to his followers amid his online feud with influencer Christian Merck Grey.

In the vlog of Khifer Brosse, Xander read several comments from his critics who accused him of making ‘scripted’ videos, including his feud with Christian, popularly known as ‘Makagwapo.’

Xander then responded to the comment, admitting that his videos were scripted.

“Lahat naman ng bidyo ko, scripted. ‘Pag sinabing script, ‘yun yung mga … ‘yun ‘yung may mga ‘lights, camera, action’ ‘yun, script ‘yun. Pero ‘pag nakakita ka na ng bidyo na tuloy-tuloy, ang tawag dun, ‘di script, skit video ‘yun, dere-derecho.” Xander said.

He also added that the bandage he put on his nose after his boxing match with Makagwapo was only for show.

Xander also put some food colouring and corn syrup on his face to become more convincing.

According to him, he’s only doing his videos for content and needs to do it for his livelihood.

As of writing, Makagwapo, who claimed to send a demand letter to Xander, has yet to respond if his videos were also scripted.

It can be recalled that the feud started when Xander asked Christian to pay him P349,000 because of his pledge to him.

Ayon sa kanya ay napagtanto niya na hindi niya naman kailangang sumuko sa buhay kaya naman matapos itong makalaya at nagpursigi itong baguhin ang kanyang buhay at mag-aral muli.

Matapos ang dalawang buwan na pagkakalagay sa kostodiya ng mga otoridad ay nag-desisyon ito na mag-aral at ngayon ay nakapagtapos ito ng ‘with honors’ sa Colegio De Maharlika nitong June 21, 2023.

Basketball player Ricci Rivero couldn’t hide his sadness after being informed that even his parents were already being criticized by the netizens because of his breakup with Andrea Brillantes.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Ricci said that his parents, Paolo and Abigail Rivero, were confronted by several people while they were at a mall.

According to him, his parents were told, “Ang anak ninyo, cheater”, following the rumours that Andrea caught Ricci in his condominium unit with another woman.

Aside from the said incident, most of his close relatives were also receiving messages on their social media accounts from random netizens who were criticizing Ricci.

Ricci couldn’t hide his dismay because his parents were not used to facing controversies.

It can be recalled that Ricci announced his breakup with Andrea amid the rumours that he cheated on the actress.

Several photos taken during the visit of Andrea to Ricci’s home also went viral after the basketball player was spotted together with a woman wearing only a towel.

Basketball player Ricci Rivero admitted that he was caught by his former partner Andrea Brillantes in his condominium unit together with another girl.

It can be recalled that photos allegedly taken during the visit of Andrea to Ricci’s home circulated on social media, and it can be seen that a woman wearing only a towel was also present at the condominium.

However, in an interview with Boy Abunda, Ricci denied that he’s having a relationship with the woman, saying that he has evidence to prove that he didn’t cheat on the actress.

“Wala pong kinalaman si Councilor Leren. We met kasi nung outreach na, ‘yun ‘yung May 26, birthday ko po ‘yun na parang outreach kasi ginagawa ko siya every year, ever since naman nung first year college ako ginagawa ko na siya,” he said.

“Galing po kasi ako ng province, doon po ako nag-celebrate ng birthday ta’s nung papaluwas po ako rito, may mga common friends kami na ‘yung mga madalas ko pong kasama lately for the past year na sabi ko baka pwedeng makapag-feeding program tayo kasi ginagawa ko ‘to palagi and wala akong magawa ngayon dahil nasa biyahe po ako sa Isabela,” he added.

He also admitted that their relationship had been in shambles since April.

“We took a break from each other, something like that, tapos ‘yung breakup first week ng May talaga,” he stated.

After the interview, netizens noticed that Andrea finally unfollowed Ricci on her Instagram, a sign that they finally called it quits.

A netizen tried to prove that the former Dabarkads, who left Eat Bulaga on May 31, 2023, might quickly surpass their former noontime show when it comes to social media engagement.

In a Facebook post, Boss Dhuuks watched the live stream of Eat Bulaga and the Dabarkads at the same time to prove who would win on social media presence.

Despite having no show yet, the Dabarkads who are using the Facebook page ‘TVJ’ were already getting 14,000 live viewers compared to the ‘revamped’ Eat Bulaga’s 1,000.

Dhuuks described the social media popularity of the rebranded noontime show as ‘nilangaw’.

Meanwhile, netizens are expecting that most watchers of Eat Bulaga may switch channels already on July 1 to watch the new show of the Dabarkads being led by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon on TV5.

“Lalo na sa July 1 for sure wala na viewers ang generic Eat Bulaga,” netizen Verna said.

Netizens even urged TAPE Inc. to change the title of their show and let the original Dabarkads use Eat Bulaga trademark.
