Vice Ganda takes a swipe on their issue: “Kayo na ang magaling. Kami na ang masama”

Vice Ganda made several statements on the August 1 episode of It’s Showtime, which was believed to be his response to the issue that caused them to be summoned by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

During the Rampanalo segment of the Kapamilya noontime show, Vice couldn’t stop himself from taking swipes against the issue they were facing.

It can be recalled that MTRCB summoned It’s Showtime producer for the alleged ‘indecent’ acts done by Vice and his boyfriend Ion Perez.

“Kayo na ang magagaling. Kami na ang masama,” Vice said.

Kim Chiu then told Vice about the background of one of the contestants.

“Ang babait pala ng mga anak mo. Sana pala yung mga anak mo ang pinag-host mo ng Isip Bata,” he said.

The statement made by Vice received mixed reactions from the netizens.

“Showtime gogogogo Ang masama ung nag isip Ng masama sa kapwa Sila ung masama,” netizen Inday said.

“Bahala nga kayo dyan. Basta ako nanonood ng IT’S SHOWTIME; dito ako masaya at nawawala ang lungkot ko pag nagbibiro na sila Showtime family,” netizen Imna remarked.

Pura Luka Vega receives first complaint for performing ‘Ama Namin remix’ while wearing Jesus Christ costume

Pura Luka Vega received his first legal complaint several weeks after his controversial performance that raised the eyebrows of many devout followers of the Catholic Church.

On July 31, several leaders of Christian Churches filed a case before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office against Luka, whose real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagente, for allegedly violating the Cybercrime prevention act.

Cybercrime prevention act prohibits indecent actions that also include activities that may offend religious beliefs.

“The drag performance of Pagente is not only terribly blasphemous, offensive, disrespectful, insulting, unacceptable, and outrageous to the Christian religion and belief, it also causes a devalued and negative image of the Lord Jesus Christ, which Christians hold in the highest veneration,” the group said.

Vega only made a short response on Twitter to the charges filed against him.

It can be recalled that on July 10, Pura’s video went viral showing him partying with several members of the LGBTQIA+ community while he was wearing a costume of Jesus Christ.

He could also be seen singing a remixed version of ‘Ama Namin,’ a sacred song being used during Catholic masses.

Many influential people, including Tito Sotto, criticized the actions done by Vega and even challenged him to do the same with other religions.

Cristy Fermin gives her comment on Vice Ganda and Ion Perez’s acts: “Nag-aanyaya ng mainit na tagpo”

Cristy Fermin discussed the issue being faced by It’s Showtime hosts, Vice Ganda and Ion Perez, who went viral on social media after the alleged indecent actions they did in front of several children on the ‘Isip Bata’ segment of the show.

On her online program, Showbiz Now Na!, the veteran columnist, together with her co-hosts Rommel Chika and Wendell Alvarez, talked about the actions of the celebrity couple that resulted in them being summoned by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board.

According to Cristy, the action done by Vice and Ion was possibly suggestive, and the two didn’t consider that they were performing the said acts on a noontime show that was being watched by the general population, including children.

“Kung ito po sana ay panggabing programa ‘yung tulog na ‘yung mga bata, ito po’y mapalalampas ng ating mga kababayan,” said Fermin. “Pero noontime show po ito, andito po ‘yung mga bata sa tabi nila at nasa harap sila ng camera at ang daming nakakapanood,”

They believed that the production team of It’s Showtime already stopped Vice and Ion from doing such acts.

However, instead of stopping them, Wendell said that the director even focused the camera on Vice and Ion.

Cristy suggested that Vice should become more conscious about what he was doing in front of the camera.

“Napakarami pong paraan na pagpapakita ng pagmamahal,” she said.

“Dapat talaga maging sensitive si Vice at Ion,” Rommel stated.

The veteran columnist said that Vice and Ion should get a room where they could freely act without being called out by the netizens.

It’s Showtime fans challenge MTRCB chair Lala Sotto to also summon her father Tito Sotto

It’s Showtime fans have been challenging the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board chairperson Lala Sotto to also invite her father, Tito Sotto, for the actions he did during the July 29 episode of E.A.T.

It can be recalled that the former senate president went viral on social media after he expressed he kissed his wife Helen Gamboa, on live television.

The ‘Madlang People’ compared the action made by Tito to what Vice Ganda and Ion Perez did during the ‘Isip Bata’ segment, saying that the agency’s chair should also launch an investigation against her father.

Some also said that there were more important things on television that should be addressed instead of focusing on Vice and Ion’s actions.

These are literally some of the most viewed videos on GMA’s Youtube – some in tens of millions. These were also aired on free tv on day time. And being pushed by Youtube algorithm without an 18+ censor. But suddenly, MTRCB & Lala Sotto want to draw the line on cake eating,” netizen Austine said.

Other netizens also believed that there was a possible conflict of interest with the decision made by Lala against It’s Showtime.

As of writing, MTRCB has yet to release a statement on whether they would also summon Tito or not.

Joey de Leon slams Noli de Castro’s comment about Maine and Arjo’s wedding: “Wala silang kasalanan”

E.A.T host Joey de Leon took a swipe against Noli de Castro after the latter’s comment about the wedding of Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde’s wedding.

It can be recalled that veteran broadcaster made a side remark on the timing of Maine and Arjo’s special event during the closing spiel of TV Patrol.

“Habang kayo kinakasal, kawawa naman ang mga binabagyo,” De Castro said.

“Ang mahirap kasi diyan ay ‘yung mga mahihirap ang nagiging biktima. Yung mayayaman at may pera, hindi,” he added.

In his tweet, De Leon insinuated that De Castro was an ‘attention grabber’ and insisted that Maine and Arjo had nothing to do with the affected people by the bad weather.

De Leon argued that Maine and Arjo already made plans for the wedding even before Egay arrived.

“Sa mga kababayan nating ume-epal na hindi raw dapat nagpakasal ang dalawang ito dahil binabagyo raw ang bayan, eto lang ang masasabi ko—-naunang nagplano sina Menggay kaysa kay Egay! Wala silang kasalanan kundi ang unang limang letra ng “kasalanan”—-KASAL!” he said.

Even Tito Sotto retweeted De Leon’s tweet to show support for the newlyweds.

As of writing, De Castro has yet to give a response to De Leon’s tweet.

It’s Showtime fans, nag-alala sa posibleng suspensyon ng Kapamilya noontime show

It’s Showtime fans couldn’t hide their concern about the possible suspension of the Kapamilya noontime show after the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) summoned the producers of the program.

It can be recalled that MTRCB wanted to summon the hosts of It’s Showtime after its hosts, Vice Ganda, and Ion Perez, had allegedly performed ‘indecent’ acts in front of several children during the ‘Isip Bata’ segment of the show.

MTRCB had the power ‘to approve or disapprove, delete objectionable portions from and/or prohibit the importation, exportation, production, copying, distribution, sale, lease, exhibition and/or television broadcast’ of movies and television programs, which includes It’s Showtime.

Several ABS-CBN fan pages expressed their opposition to the decision of MTRCB and even mentioned the connection of the agency’s chairperson, Lala Sotto to one of the hosts of It’s Showtime’s competitor, E.A.T.

Some observers believed that the worst-case scenario that It’s Showtime may face was suspension like what MTRCB commonly did to other shows.

As of writing, Vice and Ion have yet to release their statement on the move made by MTRCB against them.

Rendon Labador targets Tito Sotto and his wife Helen Gamboa for showing their love on E.A.T

Motivational Speaker Rendon Labador is now criticizing E.A.T host and former senate president Tito Sotto for kissing his wife Helen Gamboa on live television.

On July 29, Tito and Helen showed their love to each other during the 44th-anniversary celebration of the ‘Dabarkads.’

Rendon couldn’t hide his disappointment to Tito, saying that the former senate president was showing indecent acts.

He then called the attention of Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), which being chaired by Tito’s daughter Lala Sotto.

“MTRCB, ayusin nating tong mga to, nagkakalat na sila masyado sa national TV,” he stated.

It can be recalled that MTRCB summoned the team behind It’s Showtime to explain why they should not be suspended for the ‘alleged indecent act’s made by the show’s hosts Ion Perez and Vice Ganda.

Some fans of It’s Showtime questioned why MTRCB also didn’t summon Tito for what he did with his wife.

They even suspected that having a daughter as a head of MTRCB might give Tito some influence on the decision-making of the agency.

Tito’s E.A.T and It’s Showtime were competing on the noontime show rating.

As of writing, Tito has yet to give a response to the criticisms he received from Rendon.

MTRCB summons Vice Ganda and Ion Perez for their seductive acts during ‘Isip Bata’ segment

Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) summoned the people behind the noontime show It’s Showtime, including Vice Ganda and Ion Perez, for the acts done by the two hosts in front of children.

It can be recalled that Ion and Vice went viral on social media and received criticism because of their way of eating the cake they presented to them.

MTRCB called the action done by Ion and Vice ‘alleged indecent’, and they wanted the two to explain why they must not be penalized.

“The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) issued a Notice to Appear and Testify to the Producers of the noontime variety show “It’s Showtime” over complaints concerning scenes that portrayed alleged indecent acts by hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez during the variety show’s “Isip Bata” segment which aired last 25 July 2023 on channels GTV and A2Z DZOZ/DZOE 11.” MTRCB wrote.

According to the agency, Ion and Vice possibly violated Section 3 (c) Presidential Decree No. 1986, which prohibits showing ‘immoral, indecent’ acts on television.

As of writing, It’s Showtime has yet to give any statement on the move made by MTRCB against them.

If proven, there’s a possibility that Vice and Ion may be put behind bars and also be required to pay fines.

There’s also a chance that It’s Showtime may be suspended if proven that they have done something against the presidential decree.

Netizens lauded the move by MTRCB.

Several internet celebrities, including Rendon Labador, have already called the attention of MTRCB and urged them to act.
