Nobya ni EJ Obiena, pinuri ng mga netizens dahil sa kanyang pagtulong sa paglilinis ng Manila Bay

EJ Obiena’s girlfriend went viral on social media after she was seen joining the International Coastal Cleanup Drive in Pasay City last Saturday, September 21.

Through his Instagram story, the Filipino pole-vaulter and world no. 3 expressed how proud he was of his girlfriend, Caroline Joyeux, who participated in taking care of the environment.

“She is so nice to the environment more than to me,” said EJ.

EJ and Caroline met in Italy and started dating in 2020.

Meanwhile, some netizens couldn’t stop themselves from comparing Caroline to the girlfriend of another popular athlete.

“Yan ang gf at magiging asawa support sa bf or husband to be kc mas mahalaga pa rin talaga ang reputasyon hirap bilhin ang manners,” a netizen said.

“Ang layo ng character ni caroline golden heart kay golden girl keep it up caroline, and God Bless you always,” another netizen remarked.

It can be recalled that EJ still became popular despite not getting any medals in the 2024 Paris Olympics because of his attitude.

Some netizens praised EJ for keeping Filipino values alive.

Karl Eldrew Yulo receives criticism for doing ‘Break your wrist’ challenge

Karl Eldrew Yulo, the brother of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, was facing criticism on social media after doing the ‘break your wrist’ challenge.

In the video, Karl was doing the steps of the said challenge together with Eliza Yulo and other individuals.

The gymnast received criticism as the said challenge became infamous for making fun of persons with disabilities (PWD).

The challenge involved a dance in which participants bent their arms and wrists. Before the end of the dance, they were required to move improperly, which imitated how some PWD move, especially those with cerebral palsy.

Some netizens couldn’t hide their disappointment as Eldrew was supposed to set a good example.

“As someone na may Autism, this is just sad. I mean he doesn’t know this but the internet remembers and what you do online will be there for all the world to see. I’m putting all blame on the parents of Eldrew Yulo specifically Angelica Yulo,” a netizen said.

“With an attitude like that, I doubt he’s even gonna cut the qualifying rounds. None of our athletes who ever bagged medals (kahit pa bronze yan) had the “ay sus, kaya ko din yan” attitude that Eldrew has. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the ”I can” attitude is important to have for competitions like this, but there’s a thin line between confidence and arrogance. Olympics is more discipline than skill,” another netizen commented.

As of writing, Eldrew has yet to give an explanation why he did the said challenge.

Jude Bacalso, tinapos ang katahimikan matapos sampahan ng reklamo ng waiter na tinawag siyang ‘sir’

Jude Bacalso made her first public appearance since the day she was charged by the waiter who called her ‘sir.’

During the Cebu Press Freedom Forum on Thursday, September 19, Jude insisted that she was misgendered by the waiter, not once, but thrice.

Jude said that her complaint was valid as people working in the service industry were already expected to be knowledgeable when it comes to addressing their customers with proper pronouns.

“I had a valid complaint. I was misgendered three times. My standard response is always humor, but inclusivity is crucial, especially in public-facing industries,” she said.
