Pura Luka Vega, wala paring permanenteng abogado hanggang ngayon: “Wala pa rin naman akong legal firm”

Pura Luka Vega revealed that until now she had still no permanent legal counsel amid the case he was facing due to his controversial ‘Ama Namin’ performance last July.

It can be recalled that she was facing charges from two religious groups, the Philippines for Jesus Movement, and Hijos del Nazareno, for allegedly violating Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code which penalizes the ‘exhibition of indecent or immoral plays, scenes, acts, or shows and offend any race or religion’.

In an interview, Pura said that while many lawyers helped her, he admitted that he still couldn’t find a permanent counsel that would present her during court hearings.

“Wala pa rin naman akong legal firm/counsel, but grateful na ako sa kung anong suporta ang natatanggap ko. Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga lawyers na tumutulong saken pansamantala, they have helped me with the kindness of their hearts,” he said.

It can be recalled that a group launched a fundraising campaign to help Pura in the cases she was facing.

“Pura Luka Vega seeks for financial support as she faces trial this September.” the group Philippine Drag updates wrote.

“Your donations will go to Luka’s family and transpo/food for their court dates this September.” they added.

Former Eat Bulaga host Allan K shared one of his memorable moments while hosting the longest-running noontime show.

In an interview, Allan K said that during that time, there was a strong typhoon that struck the country, but as a talent, he felt that he was still obligated to report to work as a host of Eat Bulaga.

However, when he arrived at the studio, he was surprised that he was the only present host.

“Yung pinaka most memorable experience ko talaga sa Bulaga.. May isang bagyo na pagkalakas lakas, kinabukasan sobrang lakas talaga ng bagyo na pagdating ko sa broadway, ako lang mag-isang tao sa mga host,” he said.

But because Eat Bulaga still needed to be aired, Allan decided to carry the show alone.

“Wala pang mga host, but the show kailangan ng umere,” said Allan. “Alam mo bang umere ang show na ako lang mag-isa so super adlib, para kang nag stand up comedy lang,”

Allan’s performance during that day impressed the Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. that they gave him his own segment after his solo hosting.

“After that day nagkaroon ako ng portion na hinahawakan everyday.. pinag host na ako,” he stated.

The comedian hosted Eat Bulaga from 1995 to 2023 and is currently part of TV5’s noontime show E.A.T.

“The law should not be used to persecute minorities for our unique cultural practices. #WWJD Happy Birthday Mama Mary! Might have some drinks later. Yun lang,” she added.

Vice Ganda couldn’t stop taking swipes against the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) and its chair Lala Sotto while hosting It’s Showtime.

It can be recalled that MTRCB imposed a 12-day suspension against It’s Showtime after Vice and his boyfriend Ion Perez allegedly committed ‘indecent acts’ during one of its segments, ‘Isip Bata’.

On September 8, 2023, during the ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ segment, Vice talked to one of its contestants who shared that she was not allowed to have a boyfriend by her brothers.

However, according to the said contestant, her brothers were in a relationship and not practicing the advice they were uttering to her.

Vice then talked about ‘double standards’ and the fans quickly guessed that the comedian was possibly also sending a message to MTRCB.

“May mga ganyan. Kung maka-impose akala mo naman di nila ginagawa, di ba? Yung pag iba, mali. Pero kayo, hindi niyo ginagawa?!” Vice said.

“Sa iba mali, pero sa inyo puwede? Double standard!” he added.

It can be recalled that several fans criticized MTRCB for its ‘double standards’ accusing Sotto of favoring her father’s show E.A.T, which is one of the competitors of It’s Showtime.

According to them, MTRCB should also suspend E.A.T for the violation committed by Wally Bayola after he cursed during one of its episodes.

Willie Revillame was expected to make his return on October 2, 2023, as a game show host.

In a Facebook post shared by Wowowin, they showed Revillame having a meeting with IBC 13 President Jimmy Policarpio and PTV-4 General Manager Ana Puod, a sign that the popular show would be aired on the said channels.

However, according to Puod, Revillame was not planning to occupy the noontime slot to match E.A.T, It’s Showtime, and Eat Bulaga.

“Under nego, iyon po ang operative word. It’s a tripartite discussion po with IBC 13, PTV, at saka si Willie. So, matagal po yung proseso. Marami pang inaayos. But all of the parties are hoping for a very positive outcome of our negotiation,” Puod told Pep.ph.

“Yung aming pakikipag-usap po sa kanila ay guided naman po ng Presidential Commission’s office. Sila po ang nagma-manage sa mga agencies na yun.” she added.

She also shared that the negotiation between their channel and Willie was started several months ago.

However, several critics of Willie asked who would fund the production of the show, since PTV-4 was funded by the government.

It can be recalled that Willie became close with the former administration and even invited them on his now-defunct show on GMA Network.

It’s not yet known if Aiko was currently working with the said actor in her latest project.

However, her son, Andre Yllana, was working on a project with Jerome Ponce, Jairus Aquino, Krissha Viaje, and Hyacinth Callado.

Actor Jay Manalo had denied that he was a ‘boy toy’ of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia who was facing accusations from Cebu-based doctor Rowena Burden.

In her Facebook post, Burden published a blind item against a certain actor who’s allegedly having a secret relationship with Garcia.

In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP.ph), Manalo said that he didn’t even know Garcia personally so it was impossible for him to have a relationship with the politician.

“Hindi ko talaga siya kilala, kahit sino sa kanilang dalawang magkaaway,” said Jay.

He also said that he rarely visited Cebu and his last travel there was to attend a basketball event.

Jay also asked the Doctor not to drag him into the controversy.

“Please, huwag ninyong gamitin ang name ko dahil pamilyadong tao ako. Never akong napupunta sa Cebu,” the actor plead.

“I really don’t know her and I never met her. Hindi ko siya kilala personally at never kami nag-meet niyan,” he added.

Meanwhile, Burden clarified that she was not referring to an actor with ‘JM’ initials, but with ‘AC’, so obviously she was not referring to Jay.

“The initials are CA, not JM. JM, my friends find acceptable. CA unanimous decision against,” the doctor said.

Jay reacted to Rowena’s clarification and he was thankful that she cleared his name.

“Salamat kay Burden kung sino man siya. Well, balita yan, e, wala tayo magagawa diyan. Sana lang, check na muna nila kung yung tao bang idadamay nila ay pamilyado o hindi,” he stated.
