Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin received another shoutout from Vice Ganda during one of the recent episodes of the noontime show It’s Showtime.

During the episode, It’s Showtime host Jhong Hilario recognized Vice as a ‘woman,’ which prompted the latter to insist that he was a man, referring to Cristy’s criticism of him.

“Ganyan talaga kayong mga babae,” Jhong said.

“Bakla ako! Bakla ako! ‘Wag mong sabihin ‘yan! Magagalit si Cristy Fermin. ‘Hindi ka babae, Vice Ganda!’ Sabi niya, ‘Bwak, Bwak, Bwak, Bwak, Bwak, Bwak, Bwak’,” Vice responded.

Cristy, a critic of Vice, was known for questioning the identity of the It’s Showtime host, saying that the Kapamilya comedian should not consider himself a woman.

To prove her point, Cristy said that Vice would still do the habits of ordinary men.

“Vice Ganda, hindi ka tunay na babae, lalake ka,” said Cristy. “Nagpapanggap ka lang na babae, ngayon kapag bumibiyahe ka sa isang mahabang mahabang kalye, tinawag ka ng kalikasan, bababa ka sa sasakyan [at] hahanap ka ng puno at doon ka ji-jingle,” 

Cristy also criticized Vice’s attitude, saying that he had been swallowed by his popularity, which, according to her, would eventually fade.

Meanwhile, Vice’s fans urged the comedian to make Cristy accountable to her statement.

A video taken in Indonesia was making rounds on social media due to its bizarre content, showing an alleged rare case of ‘vaginismus.’

The video published by Gubes Mamaz Karyo showed a couple that couldn’t separate themselves and tried to be helped by their relatives.

Many netizens online thought that it was real, but according to some people who watched the whole video, the channel where the video was uploaded wrote a disclaimer that everything they published was scripted.

“Ang palabas na ito ay hango sa isang kwentong bayan at purong kathang-isip lamang. Kung may pagkakatulad man ang pangalan ng isang tauhan, lugar ng pangyayari, o kagananap ay ito’y nagkataon lamang,” the disclaimer reads when translated to Filipino.

The said channel was known for publishing exaggerated content; every video they published also went viral on social media.

An Indonesian also said that many of his countrymen were already aware that the videos being published by Gubes Mamaz Karyo were pure fiction only.

Meanwhile, experts said that people should stop spreading false information about the channel and inform the netizens about the real story behind the video.

There were only a few cases of vaginismus that have been reported throughout history, and while there were recorded videos showing its actual case, it was not medically proven to be true and also possibly made for the content.

Talent manager and columnist Lolit Solis said that if she could rewind time, she would repeat her involvement in the Manila Film Festival scam.

During her 77th birthday celebration on May 19, 2024, Lolit said that she had no regrets about the controversy she faced in the past.

“The biggest mistake na nagawa ko pero hindi ko pinagsisihan… siguro if I will live my life again, gagawin ko uli, yung scam,” she said. “Pero dun ko na-realize… sa kasalbahihan ko, akala ko, iiwanan ako ng lahat, di ba? Na you’d be alone kasi gumawa ka ng kasalanan. Lahat na, galit sa yo,”

“Pero, no! Dun nga lalong na-feel kong… kaya yata ako naging lalong salbahe, kasi nakita ko talaga lahat… lahat ng alaga ko, ipinagtanggol ako,” he added.

It can be recalled that Lolit was almost put behind bars in 1994 due to her involvement in the Manila Film Festival, where she conspired to announce Gabby Concepcion and Ruffa Guttierez as winners of Best Actor and Best Actress instead of the real recipients of the award, Edu Manzano and Aiko Melendez.

Many personalities were involved in the issue and even got nationwide coverage.

Gabby decided to leave Lolit’s management after the issue.

Diwata received criticism on social media after a content creator published a video showing how the internet sensation refused to greet him with a happy birthday.

In the video published by Yves York Serneo could be seen while approaching Diwata in his Paresan.

Yves asked Diwata to greet him for his birthday, but the internet celebrity refused and even told him that his special day would eventually pass.

“Lilipas din yan kuya,” said Diwata.

The content creator was visibly embarrassed by the incident.

It can be recalled that some netizens were speculating that Diwata was already tired of interacting with ordinary content creators due to his connections with famous influencers who visited him and showered him with gifts.

They also reminded Diwata about his roots and told him that it was the ordinary people who helped him to become popular.

Movie director Ronaldo Carballo revealed that two recently released Filipino films were considered a flop.

In his Facebook post, Carballo discussed the low ticket sales of Isang Gabi, starring Coleen Garcia and Diego Loyzaga, and Fuchsia Libre, which was led by Paolo Contis and John Arcilla.

The director expressed his frustrations due to the low support of local films.

According to him, people now prefer to watch their films via online streaming platforms.

“Wala na talaga sa formula yan. Kahit sinong artista ihain mo, ayaw ng tao. Ayaw na talaga ng mga tao manood ng local film sa sinehan,” he said.

“Ang mahal talaga ng panonood ng sine, kumpara sa ang mura naman ng Subscription ng Netflix at pwede pang ipasa sa iba ang Subscription ng libre,” he added.

He suggested that it would be better for producers to just collaborate with online streaming platforms.

“Kaya the best thing talaga ay i-produced ang Pelikula with Netflix quality at ibenta diretso sa Netflix, upang hindi naman laging luhaan ang Producer na walang bumabalik sa ipinuhunan,” he stated.

Most of Carballo’s friends agree with what he said.

“Wala kasing kalatuy-latoy ang mga Tagalog movies ngayun. Sa Title pa lang ng mga movies na nakikita ko ngayon, ay di ka mae-enganyo na manood. Tapus sa kwento o istorya, ay yun at yun pa rin. Walang bago. Minsan kopya pa sa mga banyagang pelikula. At minsan naman walang kalidad ang pagkakagawa. Parang projects lang ng mag-aaral sa Mataas na Pamantasan yung movie, at kadalasan mas maganda pa nga yung gawa ng estudyante lang. Paano pa kaya makakabangon ang Pelikulang Pilipino sa pagkakalugmok nito?” netizen Max said.

“FilmMakers have fo understand the need of the consumers. Dapat naka align sa nangyayari sa marketplace . They are moving away from expensive things., and membership club and subscription based companies are the in thing ngayon,” netizen Mariah remarked.

Comedian Pokwang couldn’t hide her disappointment in content creator Tito Mars, who gained notoriety on social media due to his videos showing disgust at foods eaten by ordinary Filipinos, like canned sardines.

In her Instagram post, Pokwang called Tito Mars ‘insensitive’ and disregarded kindness just to create content for views.

“Walang problema kung ayaw mo sa isang pagkain pero yung umarte ka at umasta na para bang diring diri ka sa uri ng pagkain na yun lang ang kaya ng karamihan sa ting kababayan, napaka insensitive mo ha,” she said.

“Mga tao talaga ngayon makagawa lang ng content kahit mawalan na ng pusong tao walang pakialam for the views!!!!! Very evil!!! may kabayaran lahat yan hindi pa ngayon pero binibilang ni God yan pati mga panglalalit nyo,” she added.

It can be recalled that Tito Mars’ social media pages were on the verge of being suspended due to some netizens who were reporting it on different platforms.

To address the criticisms, Tito Mars clarified that he didn’t mean to disrespect the food being eaten by ordinary Filipinos and he also considered himself as poor.

“Unang-una ho, hindi po ako mayaman. Mahirap lang din po ako,” said Tito Mars. “So bakit ko kailangan bastusin ang pagkain ng mahihirap? Kung babastusin ko ‘yon edi direkta din akong matatamaan ‘don, kasi mahirap lang din po ako at hindi ako mayaman,”

Xian Lim admitted that he asked his ex-girlfriend, Kim Chiu, to announce their breakup since last year.

In an interview with the Inquirer, Xian said that since last year, he has been criticized online due to netizens’ uncertainty regarding the status of his relationship with Kim.

Due to the criticisms he received online, Xian said he ‘begged’ Kim to release a statement to announce their breakup.

However, Kim asked him to postpone their announcement due to work-related reasons.

In an Instagram post, Ciara Sotto published the meeting between the Dabarkads and former EB Babe dancers Yosh Rivera and Mergene Maranan.

Content creator Tito Mars finally addressed the criticism he received on social media following the videos he uploaded showing him acting like he was forcing himself to eat canned sardines.

The videos went viral on social media, as many netizens couldn’t hide their disappointment that the content creator made fun of one of the most affordable foods that a common Filipino could eat.

Even celebrities like Pokwang have already made a reaction to Tito Mars’ videos.

As a response to the netizens, Tito Mars made a video explaining his side and insisted that he didn’t mean to disrespect the Filipino poor.

“Unang-una ho, hindi po ako mayaman. Mahirap lang din po ako,” said Tito Mars. “So bakit ko kailangan bastusin ang pagkain ng mahihirap? Kung babastusin ko ‘yon edi direkta din akong matatamaan ‘don, kasi mahirap lang din po ako at hindi ako mayaman,”

He said that he never uttered a word against canned sardines.

Tito Mars also said that he would respect the netizens’ reaction to his videos and told them to stop watching him if they didn’t like his contents.

“Meron po kayong kalayaan, choice niyo po kung paano ko iintidinhin ang mga videos na inilalabas ng mga content creator na inilalabas ko,” he stated.

The word war between former actress Mystica and internet sensation Diwata continues after the two made a response to each other’s criticism.

It can be recalled that Mystica criticized Diwata for being unsanitary in handling his Paresan business and called out the internet celebrity for ignoring his fans.

“Yung itsura ni Diwata ngayon nandidiri na sa mga taong gustong magpa-picture sa kanya, kitang-kita na ‘yan sa videos online. Iba ang trato niya sa mga bumibili ng pares niya na talagang sumusuporta sa kanya pero pag siya ang bibigyan ng blessing todo asikaso siya buong araw,” she said.

Diwata then responded to Mystica, saying that the latter was already unpopular.

“Sinong Pistika? Laos na siya. Hayaan mo siya, hindi naman siya importante sa buhay ko. Ang importante sa akin business ko,” he said.

As a reply to Diwata, Mystica shared her observation of watching the internet sensation while interacting with his fans.

“Halatang-halata na nandidiri na siya sa mga nagpapa-picture sa kanya,” said Mystica. “Samantalang ‘yung mga namimigay sa kanya, talagang welcome na welcome at igugugol niya ‘yung buong oras niya pero ‘yung mga taong pupunta doon para sila ay pipila para sa kanyang negosyo ay baliwala nalang sila,”
