A group of Black Nazarene devotees had filed a case against Pura Luka Vega due to the drag queen’s controversial “Ama Namin” performance.
The Hijos del Nazareno filed a complaint before the Manila Prosecutors Office against Pura for the violation of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code which penalizes ‘Immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions, and indecent shows,’
The said group was known to protect the Nazareno icon every “Traslacion” and they were not happy that Pura was cosplaying the religious image they had been safeguarding for many decades.
According to the group, they’re hopeless that Pura, whose real name is Amadeus Pagente, would apologize for his actions.
It’s not yet known if Pura can attend the hearing as he was also declared persona non grata in Manila City where the case had been filed.
