One of the top Kapamilya stars expressed sadness over the decision of the House of Representatives to reject the franchise of ABS-CBN.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News’ Mario Dumaual, Jose Mari Viceral, popularly known as Vice Ganda seems shocked after being informed that his home network failed to get a franchise.
“Kailangan ko lang prosesohin ang naramdaman ko, kasi ngayon ko lang nalaman yung desisyon. So, magulo pa yung nararamdaman ko. Hindi ko alam. Para akong nanginginig na hindi ko alam. Ang alam ko, malungkot na malungkot ako ngayon,” Vice Ganda said.
Viceral pointed out the service gave by ABS-CBN, saying that the network already became part of the daily lives of the Filipinos.
“Buhay ko, buhay niyo, buhay ng audience, buhay ng madlang people, buhay ng mga Kapamilya, buhay nating mga Pilipino. Buhay natin ito.” he said.
“Ang ABS-CBN, ang serbisyong ibinigay niya ay naging malaking bahagi ng araw-araw na buhay ng mga Pilipino. Napakalaking bahagi,” he added.
Viceral who’s a Kapamilya since 2009 participated in a caravan in support of the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.
Voting 70 to 11, the Committee on Legislative Franchise junked the hope of ABS-CBN to continue their operations after a 12-day hearing.
Aside from the comedian, Kim Chiu also criticized the decision of the lawmakers to reject the franchise of ABS-CBN.
