Social media pages owned by several government agencies, including the official page of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr on Facebook, appeared to hide their number of posts and reactions.
The changes happened several days ago after President Marcos received hundreds of thousands of laughs on his posts.
One of his posts even reached more than 660,000 laugh reacts from the netizens.
However, when people would try to recheck the post, they would only see the most type of reaction clicked by the netizens.
The said changes could also be noticed on other government-owned pages like Rady Pilipinas.
There is no explanation yet for why the government decided to censor the number of reactions it was receiving on Facebook.
Facebook gave business pages and users the option to hide their reactions.
The main reason why Facebook decided to give this option to its users was to prevent them from being pressured or affected by the number of reactions they were receiving.
