Lalake na nakaligtas matapos mag-superman sa Marilaque, tinanggalan ng driver’s license ng LTO

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) revoked the driver’s license of the motorcycle rider who performed a disastrous ‘Superman stunt’ along the Marilaque Highway in January.

In a statement, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said that they allowed Rico Akmad Buyawan to explain why his license should not be revoked.

However, their investigation found that Buyawan was not fit to operate a motor vehicle anymore.

“The driver’s license that the government is issuing to the motorists is a privilege that comes with a responsibility that those who would get it would observe road safety and be a responsible driver at all times,” said Mendoza.

“Magsilbing aral sana ito sa lahat ng ating mga kasamang motorista, lalo na ang mga motorcycle rider, na hindi tamang lugar ang mga pampublikong kalsada sa mga ganitong gawain,” he added.

Last January 26, Buyawan was recorded having a race with moto vlogger John Louie Arguelles. They were both seen speeding and doing the Superman stunt together.

However, Buyawan lost control of his motorcycle while approaching a sharp curve, which resulted in him crashing with Arguelles into a road barrier where several bystanders were resting.

Arguelles passed away after the incident, leaving his 3-year-old child fatherless.

It’s not yet known if Buyawan would face additional charges following his license revocation.
