SAGIP party-list Representative Rodante Marcoleta confronted a pro-impeach Sara vlogger who allegedly accused him of misleading the public.
During the investigation of the House tricomm on fake news and disinformation Tuesday, Marcoleta asked Bunyong party-list nominee Atty. Ricky Tomotorgo, popularly known as Enzo Recto, about a commentary he published on his Facebook page.
The tile of the said video was huwag maniniwala sa pakulo at panlilinlang ni Marcoleta.
“Attorney kahit kailan wala akong nilinlang na mamamayan ng Pilipinas, wala kang karapatan na akusahan mo ako ng ganyan,” the lawmaker said.
However, Atty. Tomotorgo said that the contents of his video were purely his opinion.
“Sinabi mo na nanlinlang ako, wala kang masabi ngayon kung ano ang ginawa ko para manlinlang ako ng mga Pilipino? Hindi ka abogado eh, hindi opinyon ito,” said Marcoleta.
The lawyer also refused to apologize and even tried to end the discussion between him and Marcoleta.
“Okay na po siguro, kasi marami pa sigurong pag-uusapan,” he stated.
“Sorry I won’t apologize, opinyon ko po ‘yon,” he added.
Marcoleta then moved to cite Tomotorgo for contempt for not answering simple questions.
Fernandez then asked for a one-minute suspension to discuss Marcoleta’s request.
The committee then decided not to cite the lawyer for contempt as Marcoleta was not part of the panel.
