The cop who went viral last year expressed his thoughts on the confrontation between a mall security guard and a Sampaguita vendor.

Julius shared that he once experienced being a street vendor and even offered to sell Sampaguita during his youth. He’s now an enforcer of the law, which some security guards were doing, making both parties relatable to him.

He said the source didn’t upload the whole incident, which left the story incomplete.

The cop believed that there was a possibility that something might happen between the two parts of the video, which was not shown on social media.

“Sa umpisa ng video, kalmado pa eh, pinapaalis pa ng ilang beses, tapos bilang na-cut nagkaroon na ng commotion so hindi natin alam ‘yung in between ‘non,” he said.

SAMPAGUITA MODUS

Even when he was still a child, Julius shared that he was already aware of the modus by some ‘organized groups’ who were using children to beg along the streets in disguise of selling Sampaguita.

According to Julius, they were thought to wear ripped clothes while carrying Sampaguita to gain the sympathy of the people they were targeting.

After realizing that their main task was to beg for money, they decided to refuse the offer from the group.

Now that he was a cop, Julius also encountered many children who were still using the same style, but instead of wearing ripped clothes, they were now wearing school uniforms.

When the vendor was caught off guard, they would quickly admit that their sob story was only a joke.

The cop said that parents were now using the same tactics formulated by organized groups, saying that it would be wiser for them to task their own children to beg and sell for them instead of handing them to other people.
