Fans of Toni Gonzaga’s online talk show, ‘Toni Talks,’ were surprised when the episode, which featured two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo and Chloe San Jose, was erased from the video streaming platform YouTube.
Several netizens who visited the video were approached by a notification from YouTube, which indicated that the video had been removed due to copyright reasons.
According to the streaming platform, the video contained footage owned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
This was the first documented case of copyright issue faced by Toni’s channel.
In a statement, the Toni Talks team claimed they encountered ‘technical issues,’ which resulted in the video being deleted.
“We know how much you’ve been looking forward to this conversation and truly appreciate your patience and understanding as our team addresses the matter,” Toni Talks channel statement read.
As of writing, the channel decided to just reupload the video and possibly remove the footage, which resulted in them being flagged for alleged copyright infringement.
Some content creators have already warned that the International Olympic Committee was serious when it comes to protecting their content.
According to some content creators, they were also flagged for copyright infringement when they decided to use clips owned by the IOC.
