Paolo Contis received tremendous criticism from the Filipino Christian community after GMA Artist Center announced his new movie, ‘Dear Satan.’
The movie, which was also directed by child star Sienna Stevens, raised the eyebrows of netizens because it portrayed Paolo as ‘Satan.’
The film was about Satan, who received a letter from the character Chichi, who Sienna portrayed.
Believing that he could get Chichi’s soul, Satan disguised himself as Santa to influence the main character.
However, Satan was forced to portray himself as a good person, which eventually made him discover that he had a soft spot for children.
Some Christian groups believed that the movie would influence children to believe that Satan has a soft spot, which, according to them, was a big lie.
“Satan doesn’t have a soft spot, do not be misled. Jesus is the Way the Truth and The Life!” netizen Peter said.
“Nakakatawa isang bata nakapagpabago kay Satan sana ganun ganun lang sa totoong buhay no? This movie is very wrong tinturuan ang mga bata na imbes sa Panginoon humiling kay Santa or si Satan? Grabe ang lala nyo na,” netizen Shanley remarked.
As of writing, Paolo has yet to respond to the criticism he received.
