Cynthia Carrion pinasinungalingan ang mga sinabi ng mga atleta na hindi naimbitahan sa Heroes’ Welcome

Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) President Cynthia Carrion was visibly upset while discussing the claims made by their two gymnastics representatives.

Olympic athletes Aleah Finnegan and Emma Malabuyo claimed they were not invited to the Heroes’ Welcome held in Malacanang on August 13, 2024.

However, Carrion said that it would not make sense to invite Finnegan and Malabuyo as they were out of the country during that time.

“They were not around. Those two people, they were not here [in the Philippines].” said Carrion. “So why would we invite them? They were still flying.

“We did not know about it in the last minute only, we never even knew that there was gonna be a parade and they were not here. Why would we invite them?” she added.

Carrion also expressed her disappointment as the two gymnasts put GAP in a difficult situation because of their statements.

“I have my own rules. And I don’t like things that are lying, they’re lying. Because they were not in the Philippines, they were still flying,” she said.

According to her, she was set to meet Finnegan and Malabuyo this week to discuss the said issue.

“I’m gonna see them on Saturday, they’re just arrive and I’m gonna really talk to them. Why are they’re giving GAP a difficulty when it’s not true?” she stated.

Meanwhile, Carrion also admitted that she was too busy taking care of her precious two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.

“I’ve been taking care of Carlos all this time. They’ve been 101 things to do and I forget them,” she stated.
