The President of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP), Cynthia Carrion, believes that Carlos Yulo’s brother, Karl Eldrew, can also become an Olympic gold medalist.
In an interview, Carrion said that Karl is more ‘daring’ than his older brother, who won two gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“Karl Eldrew is capable because he’s daring,” she said.
In a past interview, Cynthia also said that Eldrew achieved more than his brother if they’re going to base it on age.
“Eldrew is a very good future, because Eldrew at that age he is now, Eldrew is better than Caloy,” said Cynthia.
“And you give Eldrew a good coach, he’s going to perform, he’s going to be an Olympic Champion,” she added.
Carrion also aimed for Eldrew and Carlos to become part of the national gymnastics team in the next Olympics.
It can be recalled that at the age of 16, Eldrew already won a gold medal at the Asian Gymnastics Championships and won six gold medals last 2023 at the Palarong Pambansa.
Even the two-time Olympic gold medalist was confident that Eldrew would perform well at the next Olympics.
However, before it happens, Carlos may need to fix his issues with his family first.
Eldrew repeatedly appealed to his brother to reconcile with their mother.
