Amid the rumors being spread by some It’s Showtime fans, TV5 was reportedly preparing the new and bigger home for their noontime show Eat Bulaga.
It can be recalled that there were reports that TV5 was losing money on Eat Bulaga, but the rumors contradicted the move made by the network’s CEO Manny V. Pangilinan for the longest-running noontime show.
According to a report released by Bilyonaryo, Pangilinan was already preparing the Meralco Theater as the new studio for Eat Bulaga to accommodate more audiences.
Meralco Stadium has a seating capacity of 1,000, far from their current home, TV5 Studio 4.
Several videos taken during the renovation of Meralco Theater also circulated on the internet.
Eat Bulaga’s transfer to Meralco Stadium was one of the possible strategies of TV5 on the heating competition between their noontime show and GMA/ABS-CBN’s It’s Showtime.
Even if there was a rumor that Eat Bulaga was losing money, Pangilinan was known to be more focused on investments with negative earnings.
“The question is which is your favorite investment? The one that’s losing money… The problem child is the one you care for because the guy who’s very bright, you don’t worry about him,” Pangilinan said in a past media interview.
