Bayambang, Pangasinan Mayor and former Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 1 contestant Nina Jose talked on the viral video where she was seen complaining about the smell of the microphone she used during an event.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Nina said that she was only trying to be true to herself as the microphone really smelled bad.
“Kausap ko nga si Mayora over the phone at sabi nga niya na sobra siyang bina-bash ng ilang netizens, ‘e, nagpaka-totoo lang naman ako,” Ogie said while narrating his interview with the public official.
“‘In-ask ko ‘yung staff ko na palitan ‘yung mic kasi ‘yung mga mic na ‘yun parang nakulob. Wala naman daw ibang gumamit, nakulob lang kaya medyo nag-iba ‘yung amoy kaya umasim,” she added.
She even said in jest that she would only apologize to the microphone.
In another statement, Jose asked the netizens to stop judging her based on a very short clip they had watched on the internet.
“Ang microphone ay hindi ginamit ng sinuman bago ko gamitin bagkus ito ay naitago ng matagal kaya marahil nag-cause ng hindi magandang amoy. Hindi ko iyon nasabi to malign or magpahiya ng tao,” she said.
“Kilala rin ako ng aking close friends at ng aking LGU family sa pagbibitaw ng mga weird statements. That time talagang hindi maganda ang amoy ng microphone. If ever I have to apologize, I will apologize to the microphone because nasabi kong mabaho na ito,” she added.
