It can be recalled that several Filipino fans informed Australian artist ‘Lenka’ about the popularity of Selos, which is a parody of the international singer’s song, ‘Trouble is a Friend.’

Lenka then confirmed that they had already taken action to resolve the said issue.

Meanwhile, Shaira’s management, AHS Channel, released an official statement saying that deleting Selos was voluntary.

They’re already communicating with Lenka’s management to get permission to use the melody of ‘Trouble is a Friend.’

“On behalf of our artist, Shaira, AHS Productions would like to convey our heartfelt apologies to all those who have enjoyed listening to the song “Selos” as it is now unavailable on all online streaming platforms,” the management wrote.

“This is a voluntary act on our end as we are still making arrangements about the legality of the publication of the song. We have chosen to take it down from all platforms pending our agreement with the original artist’s management on securing a cover license for “Selos.”

“As most of you may know, the melody that we have used is originally from a song entitled “Trouble is a Friend” by Lenka, and as of the moment, we are already in contact with her team for us to make “Selos” an official cover,” they added.

Before its deletion, Selos already reached millions of views from different platforms, making the Bangsamoro Pop to be introduced into the mainstream music scene.
