Tattoo artist Whang-od received criticism on social media after she touched Piolo Pascual’s private part during the actor’s visit to Kalinga.
The said video, which was uploaded by Piolo on his social media pages received reactions from the netizens, some calling the action of the legendary ‘mambabatok’ as inappropriate.
According to some netizens, the reactions would be very different if a man committed the same act to a younger woman.
“What Apo Whang Od did is hindi tama and don’t close your eyes sa fact na iyan just because she is an icon. Imagine if it’s an old man who did that? Everyone, if not all, will be pissed off. Kaya I don’t understand bakit nagsa-san all pa kayo,” netizen Unprox said.
However, others didn’t see something wrong with Whang-Od’s actions, saying that she was known for touching her guests.
They also reminded the people that Piolo allowed Whang-Od to touch him.
“Stop contextualizing Indigenous People’s laws, customs, and practices under the lens of Philippine las. Your views on existing civil/crim laws are under the lens of foreign context which fails to recognize pre-exisitng,” netizen Inevitable remarked.
As of writing, Piolo has yet to release a statement about the reaction made by the netizens against Whang-Od.
