Netizens couldn’t hide their worry after one of the acolytes who joined the procession of Sto. Niño in Kawit, Cavite, appears to be without a head.
A Facebook video uploaded by netizen EJ Tiglao showed the man wearing a white robe without a head while participating in the procession.
There was also no sign that the head of the man was only edited out on the video as smoke could be seen passing in the position where the head of the acolyte was supposed to be located.
Some netizens shared that what happened to the man was a bad omen and should be informed immediately.
“Kahit tinapik lang nya sa balikat,” netizen Jhe said.
However, there was a possibility that the man was only looking down, and he only appeared without a head due to his clothing.
“Nakayuko po yan, may ganyan kasi na damit na deretcho at di nauunat basta basta, pero Sana wala rin masamang mangyari sa sakristan, dasal at Panalangin ang Tunay na sandata,” netizen CJ remarked.
According to some local beliefs, appearing headless in a photo or video was a sign that someone unfortunate would happen to the said person.
To counter the omen, the person must bury the clothes he used during the time when he was seen headless.
