The Miss Universe Organization clarified that they never made any disrespectful gesture towards Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee.
In an official statement, the organization denied that they asked Michelle to leave a certain pictorial held during the Miss Universe 2023 event in Mexico City.
The issue started when netizens noticed that Miss Universe CEO Anne Jakrajutatip whispered something to one of her staff, and then the following scene showed the same individual escorting Michelle outside the venue.
However, the organization said that they never forced Michelle to leave the pictorial, saying that it was the Filipina beauty queen who asked to exit from the area because of her bad condition.
We’d like to clarify some speculations regarding a video circulating showing Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Marquez Dee being escorted from a line-up in a TV guesting in Mexico City,” the organization wrote.
“Firstly, the segment was done by the time she exited. Michelle had to excuse herself to drink water because she wasn’t feeling well due to the past weeks’ tedious back-to-back schedule. Upon seeing her condition, the MUPH Team decided that it was best for her to go back to the hotel to get some rest,” they added.
As of writing, Michelle has yet to give any statement on the issue.
