Basketball player Ricci Rivero claimed that he was the one who decided to end his relationship with Andrea Brillantes, even if the latter was trying to rebuild their romance.
In a radio interview with DJ Jhaiho on the ‘Marites University’ show, Ricci said that there’s no third party involved in her separation from Andrea because he was already single when he met his current girlfriend, Leren Bautista.
“Dun lang tayo sa totoo. Hindi 3rd party si Leren alam nila yan. Huwag silang pa-click bait para makuha ang simpatya ng tao at sirain kami. Mag mo-move on kami nang maayos nang walang nasasaktan dahil hindi na ako papayag na may madamay pang iba para lang sa good publicity nila,” said Ricci.
Ricci also said that he already had enough of Andrea’s friends, including Bea Borres, who allegedly kept taking a swipe against him.
“Jai, never akong pumatol sa kanila kahit sa lahat ng pagpaparinig nila. We all know who she’s pertaining to sa mga tweets niya from the very start. Nag reply ako kasi sumosobra na sila and meron naman talaga ako alam sa kanila pareho pero hindi ako nagsasalita kasi hindi ako yung tao para manira. You all know me from the beginning,” he said.
He explained that he met Leren last May 26, almost twenty days after he rejected Andrea’s plead to him to return.
“Nakilala ko si Leren May 26. And alam nilang mag bestfriend na wala na kami that time. We broke up a couple times na early this year kaya magulo na talaga. Nakikipagbalikan siya and nung last time na May 6 sinabi niya na wala na, end na because of the girl na alam naman niya na kasama ng friend ko yun na pumunta doon so paanong overlap doon Jai?” he said.
According to him, even during late hours, Andrea tried to visit him to ask him to resolve their relationship problems, but Ricci said it was already over for them.
“Hindi naman ako nagsasalita nung mga nakakasama at kausap din silang iba sa bars. Pumupunta siya ng condo ko nang madaling araw ilang beses for what? Para makipagbalikan. Nag yes ba ako? Hindi, kasi ayoko na and sinabi ko yan sa kanya paulit-ulit so I am the bad person here for not publicly telling everyone that I am single. She asked me not to let people know muna kasi baka masira ang image niya tapos nung hindi ako pumayag makipagbalikan, sisiraan na ako bigla,” he stated.
As of writing, Andrea has yet to respond to her ex-boyfriend’s interview.
