Yexel Sebastian went viral on social media after being accused of duping several Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to put money into his investment scheme.
In a Facebook post, several OFWs brought up the issue to Senator Raffy Tulfo, saying that Yexel and his wife Mikee Agustin, both popular influencers in the country, collected more than P200-M from their alleged victims.
According to the victims, they saw Yexel’s promotion on social media, offering his followers an opportunity to double their money within a year.
“Sure ang monthly income, kahit busy ka sa work o negosyo o nasa abroad,” the influencer wrote.

Some of their victims said that Yexel and Mikee allegedly offered them 5% monthly interest if they would invest in his cryptocurrency.
However, they said it’s already been two months since Yexel distributed their last payout.
Meanwhile, Yexel released a short statement, saying that the public didn’t know the real story and should stop believing the accusation against them easily.
“People wala pa kaming statement ha, paalala lang ayaw ko lang bumalik sa inyo mga sinasabi nyo hindi nyo pa alam ang TUNAY na kwento,” said Yexel.
As of writing, authorities have yet to confirm if someone already filed a formal complaint against Yexel and Mikee.
