Motivational Speaker Rendon Labador couldn’t hide his disappointment after Gilas Pilipinas suffered another loss during the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup on August 27 against Angola.
Gilas failed to win its second game after only getting 70 points vs. 80 gained by Angola.
Because of the result of the game, the Philippines already had a record of 0-2.
Netizens automatically blamed Coach Chot Reyes for another loss suffered by Gilas.
Rendon was also pleading already to Reyes to resign.
“Kung may malasakit ka sa Pilipinas at respeto sa larong basketball, mag resign ka na! Parang awa mo na coach.” said Rendon.
“Kung may PUSO ka talaga para sa Pilipinas, eto na ang pag kakataon mong ipakita ito. RESIGN!!!!”
Netizens criticized Reyes for letting NBA Player Jordan Clarkson do most of the plays.
They also noticed that Renz Abando was benched most of the game and only deployed during the last minutes of the match.
“Abando n Edu were bright spots. Minsan pinipilit masyado ni JC. Nawawala yung laro nung iba sa kahahanap sa kanya,” Sen. Sonny Angara said.
