Sienna Catacutan-Perez couldn’t hide her disappointment after her husband, CJ Perez was not allowed to play during the Gilas Pilipinas match against Dominican Republic at the 2023 FIBA World Cup on August 25.
In her Facebook post, Sienna posted the credentials of her husband, who was one of the leading scorers during the last World Cup in 2019 and also a three-time Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) scoring champ.
“Leading scorer last world cup, 3x PBA scoring champ… zero minutes? Lol it is what it is,” said Sienna.
She also shared an article about the coach’s explanation of why he decided to bench CJay even if Jordan Clarkson was already disqualified during the 4th quarter of the game.
“We need Cjay when we have a scoring drought. We needed to have something happen on the court, but we we’re fine all the way through until the last five minutes when Jordan fouled out. But at that point, I thought it was too late to insert somebody who was ice-cold from the bench,” said Reyes.
Netizens expressed their disappointment in Reyes’ decision, saying that Cjay might saved the game.
