Pastor Dimver Andales of the Lapasan Baptist Church addressed the rumors, which involved him in the demise of the 23-year-old Mister Cagayan de Oro contestant Adriane Rovic Fornillos.
In an interview with several local media, Andales vehemently denied the accusations that he was a ‘sugar daddy’ of the victim’s girlfriend, Jone Orog.
He also tasked his legal team to find the people spreading rumors about him and planned to press charges against the said individuals.
Andales believed that the rumors being spread about him were politically motivated and only wanted to besmirch his image on social media.
He ran in the 2022 elections as a member of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Cagayan de Oro’s second district but failed to get enough votes to get a seat in the council.
He also explained that he was already happy with his wife and there was no reason for him to have an affair with Orog.
The pastor denied that he sent a bouquet of flowers to the victim’s girlfriend.
Fornillos met his demise last May 9 after a still unidentified suspect approached him in Barangay Nazareth.
Orog posted several tributes to her late boyfriend, but some netizens criticized the woman for her alleged involvement in the case.
