Marc Pingris questioned if the current roster of Gilas Pilipinas still has the ‘heart’ to win their upcoming matches in the FIBA Basketball World Cup and become the number one Asian team.
In an interview with Dyaryo Tirada, Pingris challenged the current players of Gilas to show not only their talent but also their ‘puso,’ which means ‘heart’ to win against their opponents.
According to him, Gilas may become the number one team in Asia if they really wanted to.
However, several basketball fans said that ‘heart’ was not enough to become the number one team in Asia.
Ganun talaga,” netizen Lee remarked.
It can be recalled that Pingris led Gilas in their historical win against South Korea during the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship.
After they defeated South Korea, Gilas entered the 2014 Fiba World Cup for the first time in 40 years.
The current FIBA World Cup would be held in Manila from August 25 to September 10.
