Pura Luka Vega, idineklarang ‘Persona Non Grata’ sa Maynila dahil sa kanyang ‘Ama Namin’ performance

Drag queen Pura Luka Vega has been declared unwelcomed in Manila City due to his “Ama Namin” performance while wearing a costume of Jesus Christ last July 10.

On Tuesday, August 8, the Manila City Council announced that Pura, whose real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagente had been labeled as a ‘persona non grata’ in their jurisdiction.

According to the decision, Pura deserved to be banned from visiting Manila where the Black Nazarene of Quiapo Church was located.

It can be recalled that the costume worn by Pura was similar to the religious icon that being visited by millions of Filipinos in Quiapo, especially during its feast every January 9.

Aside from Manila, Pura was also declared as persona non grata in the entire province of Nueva Ecija; Floridablanca, Pampanga; Toboso, Negros Occidental; and General Santos City.

Pura was also facing charges from the Philippines for Jesus Movement for allegedly violating Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code (RPC) for allegedly performing immoral acts and the Republic Act 10175.

The drag queen never apologized for his actions.

An individual was often declared as persona non grata if they performed undesirable or disrespectful things.

As of writing, Pura has yet to give any statement on the newest decision against him.
