Mr. Gay World 2021 responds to Mikee Reyes complaint: “If you’re a professional artist, you understand the importance of adapting to client expectations”

Sports announcer and influencer Mikee Reyes went viral on social media after he expressed his disappointment towards an event organizer who asked him to wear long sleeves to hide his tattoos from the children who would attend the said gathering.

In his Facebook post, Reyes showed his conversation with the said event organizer and his refusal to accept the gig.

“I’ve already made more friends and achieved more things, being myself, than I could ever have trying to be someone else,” he said.

While many netizens expressed their support for Reyes, Mr. Gay World 2021 Joel Rey Carcasona said that the sports announcer should also understand the side of the event organizers who wanted him to adjust for his clients’ needs.

According to him, artists like Reyes should also consider the requests of their clients.

“If you’re a professional artist, you understand the importance of adapting to client expectations while also preserving your identity. You can continue to proudly display your tattoos in your everyday activities, but making a small exception for specific family-focused events demonstrates your willingness to accommodate diverse audiences and create a positive experience for all,” said Joel.

Mikee has yet to respond to Joel’s comment to his post.
