An infamous popular urban myth about John Lloyd Cruz and Shaina Magdanao recirculated on the internet after a photo of the two during their meeting in Switzerland went viral on social media.
The two artists attended the 76th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland to be part of the premier of their movie, Essential Truths of the Lake.

However, the two didn’t go viral because of the movie, but because of a story that until today was being discussed by the netizens.
In 2010, John and Shaina who were still in a relationship during that time were rumored to be rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital, covered in a blanket after the two couldn’t separate from each other after making love.
The issue was published as a blind item by Ruben Marasigan and despite not naming the two, people quickly guessed that the columnist was referring to John and Shaina.
Different version
s of the story circulated on the internet, some even claimed that they personally witnessed how the nurses assisted the two.
However, several practitioners who worked at St. Lukes’s couldn’t really be confirmed if John and Shaina were really brought to their hospital.
Shaina already denied the said rumors, saying that it would be easy to prove if the incident really happened since St. Luke’s is a big hospital
She also thanked the netizens for defending her.
“Gusto kong magpasalamat para na rin kay John Lloyd sa mga nagtanggol sa amin. Inuulit ko, hindi po totoo na may ganoong nangyari. Maraming-maraming salamat sa lahat ng dumepensa sa amin. Di po kami gaano nakapagpasalamat sa mga dumedepensa sa amin, said Shaina.
