Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin called out motivational speaker Rendon Labador for his habit of giving valueless opinions on different issues involving popular figures.
Through her program Cristy Ferminute, Cristy questioned the move by Rendon who’s currently taking credit for the move made by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) against Vice Ganda and Ion Perez.
It can be recalled that Rendon went viral on social media for criticizing the allegedly indecent gestures done by the two It’s Showtime hosts on the July 25 episode of the ‘Isip Bata’ segment.
In her statement, Cristy didn’t mention the name of Rendon, but netizens believed that she was referring to the motivational speaker.
MTRCB chair Lala Sotto was currently facing issues when Rendon asked the agency’s head to also investigate her father, Tito Sotto, for expressing his love publicly to his wife Helen Gamboa.
Rendon challenged the public official to prove that she would not choose her family over duty.
“Si MTRCB Chairwoman Lala Sotto-Antonio ay nasa gitna ng kontrobersiya ngayon. Hindi na po namin babanggitin kung sino ‘yung nagpapasimuno sa panliligalig ngayon sa tagapamuno ng MTRCB, sayang po ang ating oras ‘pag binanggit natin,” said Cristy.
“Pero ito pong taong ‘to dispalinghado ang mga opinyon nito. Iniisip po niya dahil pinatawag ni Chairwoman Lala Sotto ang produksyon ng Showtime, siya ang dahilan! Nanalo siya dun sa mga panawagan na kailangang bigyan ng leksyon si Ion Perez at si Vice Ganda.
“Ang hindi alam nitong tolongges na ‘to, napakarami pong nag-report, nag-post, nag-text at nanawagan sa MTRCB na sana’y huwag payagan ang ginawa nina Ion at Vice na sa gitna pa naman ng mga bata,” dagdag pa ng batikang kolumnista.
Cristy even informed Rendon that Tito was no longer a public official.
“Aba, ang inuulaol naman niya ngayon sina dating Senate President Tito Sotto at Ate Helen Gamboa… Nananawagan siya, isa raw siya sa mga bumoto kay Kuya Tito bilang senador… Alam kaya niya na matagal nang wala sa gobyerno si dating Senate President Tito Sotto?”
“Lahat na lang inaaway niya… Ikaw talaga, mahilig kang makisawsaw. Mahilig kang makiangkas. Mahilig kang maggagawa ng kuwento kahit wala namang basehan. Lahat na lang hindi maganda para sa iyo.” she added.
As of writing, Rendon has yet to give any response to Cristy’s comments against him.
