Vice Ganda gained the attention of the netizens after they noticed his joke about their transfer from TV5 to GMA Network.
During the June 23rd episode of It’s Showtime, Vice was seen hosting the ‘Rampanalo’ segment of the said noontime show, asking a contestant to choose between ten numbers being held by other hosts.
They noticed that the audience was trying to urge the contestant to choose number five, and Vice and his co-host Amy Perez noticed it.
“Parang lahat number 5.” Amy said.
Vice then started to make a joke about the said numbers, saying that he would choose the number ‘7’, the channel of GMA Network, over ‘5’, which is the channel of TV5.
“Dahil magkakaiba, ako na ang pipili. Seven ang number natin.” Vice then said.
The contestant followed Vice’s advice and chose number 7, but he needed to choose another.
“Ang magandang ka-partner ng 7 ay number 2.” the host said, hinting the partnership between Channel 7 and 2.

It can be recalled that It’s Showtime decided not to renew its contract anymore with TV5 amid the reports that they would be required to change the timeslot to give way to the upcoming noontime show produced by former Eat Bulaga hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.
Fans of It’s Showtime praised the said decision, saying that it would be better to have more competition.
